I know some of you have an interest in diets so here goes
I have always been "challenged" with my weight, I am only 5'7" tall so any weight really shows, being a chef for most of my career I have always had late meals, picking and beer to content with
I have used Atkins with short term success for a few years (not the way to do it) and it really works but the weight goes back on so quickly when you come off it, which you are not supposed to ever do if you read the book and follow the rules!
Well this year I will be 40 and this has been a real motivation to get myself really fit, lower my blood pressure and feel generally better
I started after new year on a 3 times a week minimum regime at the local gym, very hard at first but slowly got easier, I saw some weight loss but the diet needed attention
I cut out late eating and removed some of the bad carbs, I then added a lot more fresh fruit to the daily diet and drank more water
Now the radical part, I have entered a 28 day Detox diet to fast track a little, the diet is a raw foods diet only, I eat only raw fruit, vegetables and some raw fish for protein, I am on day 14 so half way
No dairy, no cooked food (above 63oC) no alcohol, no caffeine and no processed food
The first 3 days were pretty horrid with headaches and tiredness, I kept up the gym regime and added some vitamin tables just in-case. I have lost 2.5 stone since xmas taking me from 15 stone to 12 stone 7 lbs, the lightest I have been for many years, the diet has given me 8lbs in 14 days
I am running further, lifting more and feeling generally so much better in myself, my blood pressure is now normal and I have brought myself a new wardrobe
Just thought the story may add some motivation to anyone who felt as unfit and unhealthy as I did 5 months ago, the real challenge is keeping it off and staying motivated
Think I will deserve a Single turbo Supra at the end of the detox !
