  1. It's related to the vin, from this perspective they are different cars entirely. It does not matter if it's had parts changed or not. I think the question in this thread is what you "THINK" a UK spec is. IE your view of removing a UK spec part, makes the car less UK spec, in some views possibly however in reality, no.
  2. Is yours a USDM model? similar to our UK / Euro Spec's they have the steel turbos with larger waste gates, you don't need the restrictor ring. A picture of your engine bay would be able to tell, due to the injectors resistor pack.
  3. Almost. The Jspec turbos wastegate is not man enough to the task, so if you take away the restriction of the cats, the wastegate can't control the turbo's boost, making it overboost way past it's "safe" limits (around 1.2bar) some Jspec turbos could boost upto 1.8 bar, albeit not very long. The ceramic blades tend to detach from the turbine, chaos and screaming ensue.
  4. Have a look at my FAQ thread - http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?314767-The-Mega-Aerotop-Leak-Fix-Thread-FAQ More than likely a disconnected rear drain.
  5. Just a nice OEM black dude, with nice contrasting white stickers. Nice colour too, i remember talking with you a few years ago about possibly buying this!

    RR size

Depends how restrictive the RSR is, i seem to recall they are. Dont you have a boost gauge? seems silly not too if you have double decat? If the exhaust is restrictive it would have the same effect as having the cats in, hence no increase in boost. Do you have a Mines or Blitz ecu? those have built in fcd's

A supra will only boost to 1.2bar if the cats are taken out. 3seconds at 1+bar will hit fuel cut, you need to fit a FCD to stop this. with RR only, it's a very fine art to take enough metal away to get it exactly to 1.2 bar, this will change with air tempreture also, which is why its usually said best to fit a 1bar RR and raise with a controller. As you can only raise boost with a controller, not lower it. If you ran a supra with no restrictor ring and no cats, it would overboost, sometimes to 2bar, bye bye turbos.
  8. You just want it to match your leon, lol.

But 1.34 is too much? thats pushing the limits of the stock injectors, nevermind the ceramic turbos is it not? I know it's not ideal, but it's the usual way of doing BPU as it gives greater control over the boost, and won't overboost if done right. Im also most certain that the EGT's will not be drastically different between the two?

isn't it usually best to install a RR which gives you around 1bar then raise with a controller? a more safer option?

    Boats

There is a saying on the boat i work on. It will always cost money to run, maintain, more than any car could.
  12. Only if the car exact match of emissions data can be found on the database, which the supra cannot. There is a flowchart flying around the forum somewhere which shows the rules in black and white, the supra does not need a cat test.
  13. Why? If the car is tested correctly it does not need to have a CAT test, as it's before 2000's if it's Aerotop it should be? It should pass unless there is something really wrong, you don't need the cats in.
  14. Nearly every thread in here - http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/forumdisplay.php?64-Technical-Reference-amp-FAQs
  15. It will be your injectors which is the limiting factor there i think, but still, better to get a proper controller on it and mapped safely anyway.
  16. Id say it was 100% fuel cut then. However you dont want to be running a single on a stock ecu and injectors at 1.5 bar, melted engine in no time imo.
  17. Well, with it been single turbo i'd hope you had more than a stock ECU running it? Surely the FCD would have been fitted. if not, get it checked asap, its not going to last long.
  18. If you're booting the car, and you feel like you hit a brick wall for a few seconds, it sounds like Fuel Cut, a FCD would fix that, what boost you running?
  19. They always go up before summer a little, people want a summer cruiser.

Thats quite some size at 350dpi. I work that the resolution required is: 16384x11589 Quite a bit beyond the resolution of image you have. Is the DPI correct? Usual print is around 200-220dpi, That way a camera's 20-30mp could cover it, still nowhere near the one you have though
