Not a thor/TRL FCD is it? They went through a phase of sending out faulty FCD's which produced this effect, idle hunting, cutting out etc Myself and a few others had the same issue Even if its not a thor unit, try removing the FCD and resoldering the connections the original locations -
love it. I vowed never to watch it if the series gave "future flashes" as that ruined end of season 3 for me, but i was quite taken how they did it, so im hooked again
