  2. Hi Guys, Another update for the thread. I've had a few bits done in the last weeks. First up was a trip to Performance @ Hart, James sorted me out with a full service, diff and power steering fluid changes along with fitting me some new OEM track rod ends. This was the only bit i missed from the under-body restoration so at least now i know everything is new. Then i updated the stereo. The new model gives Carplay/Radio functionality but that's all i wanted. It's the Alpine ILX-700 I also made up some looms for my seats. I don't know why i didn't think about including connectors for when i remove the seats so i added this in with some 4 pin waterproof auto connectors (OTT) I wanted to 3D print a holder for the new seats recline switches which is electrically operated. I mocked up a simple design and printed it out. It fit in the centre console just fine. I did have 4 switches planned as the seats are electrically controlled in both Recline and Height. But it turns out the seats are pretty high on their lowest setting. I'd never want them higher so i decided to just not connect those. With all that taken care of it was time to fit the seats. A nasty job made harder with the weight of these seats. But weight saving was never the goal. Thanks to John-mkivd for supply of his low profile seat rails they worked a treat. Next up is some work on a rear seat delete. These seats don't tilt forward so now the rear seats are even more useless than before! Thanks for looking
  3. You can buy the confetti fabric if you really want too. It’s £180 A sqm though haha I’ve always had a vision of a Dark red interior with the grey and carbon
  4. Hi Guys, A little update here been a while for the thread. I've been trying to use the car some more. Not been used much at all in the last 6 months. First up was an MOT, always a worry but sailed with no issues. Only real issue is getting the low bumper on the MOT ramp! Then it was to a few shows. JPS mkiv stand was great thanks to the organisers. Shame more members didn't show though! It was the first outing for Fosta's Hoodlock, i believe only one he made in carbon! Also a local show where i live. Accepted in the classic car community shows how well the supra has aged IMO. Next onto modifications. I've finally decided which seats i want to use for my retrim. (I think i'd be hung if i retrimmed my OEM confetti's which will go in storage.) Im planning to fit these onto some of John-D's custom low seat frames that he's kindly making for me and im very excited about how the package might look and work. As these seats are from a modern car everything is electric (apart from the sliding front/back which is strange) the incline and seat height is Canbus controlled like most modern cars. Lucky i managed to find a wiring diagram online and managed to get the recline and height motors working from a simple window switch. Im going to 3D print a holder for these in the central arm rest area. Once the seats are all fitted ill be looking to get the seats retrimmed along with other parts of the interior to get my supra looking similar to the picture below: I also finally decided to get my boot struts replaced only taken me years to get around to this. More updates soon, thanks for looking
  5. 25 year USA import rule. Prices will only go up IMO, people are kidding themselves to think it wont affect us.
  6. metal monkey ceased trading, shame really they are brilliant
  7. Hi There guys, Im looking for some seat frames. Ideally i'd like the low profile that John Doods made for a group buy on here. I'd also look at some brides or planted. Additionally if anybody has some frames around Sheffield they could let me borrow in the mean time to see if they work it would also be appreciated.
  8. I have mine stuck to the air vent tubing which is the only flat area in those positions
  9. These are part of the lights surely i wouldn't expect they are able to be purchased on their own?
  10. Hi Guys, For the last year i've had the airbag warning light on my car. It was always ok and cleared fine before (the awkward way of doing it) but now i just can't get it to clear It would appear to go out for 4-5 seconds but then comes back. It's as if the system detects a fault as it's supposed too. It there a way to read codes from the SRS system so i can try and find the reason? I've checked the airbag connections (Passenger and TRD wheel) I've also checked the seatbelt tensioner connection on the seats. Everything looks ok. My only other thought would be the connections to the sensors on the body but these should be fine although not checked. I'd prefer a code before i start ripping the arches to bits. I know the OBD1 system is awkward for codes but the MIL light only gives engine codes AFAIK and not other systems. There is a funky way to read AC errors using the heater controls, is there another funky method for reading SRS errors? Same goes for ABS errors, sometimes my ABS light stays on, if you stop the engine and restart it, it goes away... Cheers,

    Boot dampers

Just bit the bullet and took mine off, easy to do with the plastics just pulled out of the way. Taking out the little piece where the seatbelt goes through makes it easy to collect the bolts before they fall away into the abyss below.
  12. or a dye might be better. I painted some interior plastics and they are chipping because of the heat the supra interior can get, ill use high temp or plastidip next

    Boot dampers

Dont think you can buy them anymore from toyota. SGS needs the originals sending because the mounting bracket is unique

    Boot dampers

yes SGS is the go too company. Only issue is taking them off to get done, need to take apart whole rear interior
  15. For mine it was around 4200 for the work but then i paid a bit extra and had new seals, new windscreen etc.
  16. I had mine painted by a friend in Sheffield, great job and gets loads of good comments at shows/meets
  17. i dropped him a message. Turns out it was silver but resprayed in Japan so it's on the logbook as no colour changes. Hes edited the ad now i think
  18. No, the fan and water pump housing is different. As i remember the NA fan would hit a TT shroud and rad.
  19. If you have an iphone one of the carplay stereos will be good for you. Connect your phone uses your 4g for maps/google and Spotify which you can control from the head unit. Im in the similar situation. I've used carplay before and it's a nice solution i'd like to get in the supra. Theres a few around, take a look here: http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/head-units/apple-carplay The alpine model keeps coming down in price because theres a new one but it's tempting - http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/head-units/apple-carplay/alpine-ilx-700-in-dash-digital-media-receiver-with-apple-carplay-deal-offer There are also android car ones out there but i've no experience with them.
  20. The TT6 didn't have a specific set of wheels. It's either the 16's or 17's you want. 17's were an option (with big brakes) or standard on UK models.
  21. Is the brake fluid realllllly full. They are very sensitive. wouldn't be surprised if it needs a bit more in

    New Top Gear

5 Episodes doesn't make a series. Wonder why it was so short... I prefer these 3 over the last 3 for sure. Just wish they'd tone down the laddish jokes every 14 seconds.
  23. Well for 10 minutes at least.
  24. Also only ever torque the cam cover bolts to what toyota says, don't be tempted. The cam covers will crack so easily. i think it's 5-7nm
  25. Not sure if i missed it in this thread but what size speakers do these allow for ?
