  1. I think i would have chosen tenor had it not been for the fact i couldnt hold 1 up for more than 5 minutes when i started learning (i was only 8 and they are bloomin' heavy!) My teacher, Norman (RIP) only had a tenor so we used to play a lot of duets with both and they sounded great together.
  2. I think it looks really nice! i'd give my left nut (my favourite one) for a car like that. Although it does seem a little pricey.
  3. Wow didn't realise there would be this many talented people on here when i started this thread, just wish i'd picked up a guitar 10 years earlier than i did!
  4. Nice idea. I can play the saxophone, we need a singer

  6. Yeah the intro is fairly easy, even for someone as crapola as me, sounds great though! Trying to find "i would love to" now.
  7. I'm sat here now attempting to play the intro to the steve vai song posted by Thorin, much to the disgust of the ball and chain who is cleaning the house and i'm supposed to be helping her
  8. Tried a couple of their tracks, i really must try harder
  9. Never heard that, downloading it now.
  10. To give you an idea of how poo i am, ive just learnt the intro to Vertigo by U2 a few minutes ago. And it doesn't sound that good. Ive seen some DVD's on eBay with little instructional videos of how to play some songs. Might order 1 or 2 as they're only a fiver or so.
  11. Thanks mate, just looked up the tab for that, it's waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay above my ability at the moment! maybe in a couple of years or so
  12. I'm so ashamed, my guitar and amp cost £100 from.... wait for it.... Argos.
  13. I don't just play from memory, i wish i could! i look up the tabs first, and download the songs and then try and play them, i'm proper crap though. Nothing i play sounds like it should. A 17 year lad i work with is self taught and only been playing for about 2 years and he's amazing! I'm so jealous of people like that.
  14. Rox what? and Gary who? My guitar lives next to my plasma in the living room, i usually banish the woman to the kitchen or wait for her to go to bed then have a go on the guitar. Good job we live in a detached house otherwise we'd have had complaints by now im sure.
  15. I do try and play new stuff, i hear bit of songs on the radio and stuff then try it when i get home.
  16. Cool! i remember her yes, bit funny looking in that program (but fit), she any good then?
  17. The whole reason i bought a guitar and decided to try and play is because i saw this clip http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=8590308394895590930 and i thought to myself, ive got to play that!! but it's sooooooo difficult! oh well, got to start somewhere, ive had a go nearly every day since november last year and i have improved but not much
  18. Yeah i heard some of it on there, it's as good as a lot of the new bands around in the charts and stuff at the moment. He should give it a go for sure.
  19. It's very nice, ive lined up a les paul standard as my next guitar (once i can play it properly) alas mine will probably be a £600 or so replica
  20. Is he the chap with the myspace site thingy for his band? i read on there that they are splitting up?
  21. Thanks mate, that is the site i use mainly, just the damn noisy adverts on there so my head in!
  22. That's really cool, wish i'd picked 1 up earlier, i started with an alto saxophone instead when i was about 8 (i'm 24 now) and had lessons for about 10 years and did exams and things, up to grade 5 or 6, cant remember. Getting a Kemble upright piano next wednesday too but that's a whole new challenge.
