hmmmmm , well i've checked all my rear lights, and they all work fine, even the number plate illumination lamps!! I've measured the voltage across that LED connector but its totally dead!! even checking the voltage between each wire and the car body shell incase there was a broken earth cable but nothing!!! oh well its very annoying!! but i'll sort something out Mark cheers for the Link to the Toyada specialist i'll deffinatly give them a try and see what they have to say If when i do get it working i'll post a real medai clip of my LED driver working!! its quite cool! i've put it on all my other cars so far with LEDs lights!! cheers rooster!

Hi, I've noticed that the nice little "tail light out" warning light has been on - on my UK TT since i've had it!! now i know the boot level LED unit does not work so that must be causing the warning. I did test all the other rear lights and they all work! So i took it apart tonight only to find with amazment that although the unit is fitted to the car, there are NO LEDS in there and its obviously not wired up!!! I mean whats the point in that!!! if the units in there why not put the LEDS in too - was this a factory option costing and extra Limb on the UK specs or what!?!? Anyway, just behind the mounting for the LED light there is an unconnected loom, which must be for the brake light, so i put a voltmeter on it and tried the brakes but its dead! - and no switch will turn it on *even with ignition on* the wires going in to it are WHITE and WHITE/GREEN. Does anyone know if this is the brake light feed, and how i would go about reconnecting it!?!? i have a horrible feeling i'm gonna have to remove interior panel!! YUK!! I really want to get this wire working because i want to put my customised LED driver in there to make the light just that little bit special!! plus it looks stupid having one that doesn't work!!! If any one has any info it would be much appreciated!! - see the piccy for the connection i mean if it helps!!!! cheers Redline rooster *with no leds as standard *

ahh right!! cool, I have heard they are very good, but also cost £££££££££ - hmm well i'll see whats wrong with mine first then if its gonna give me greef out it comes and in goes a better one!! The thing is it does seem to disengage OK, when the TRC Light comes on properly *as you would expect *, I mean how easy should it be to get a wheel spin on dry tarmac in Drive on an Auto box?!?!! - I was only wondering becuase when the two light illuminate at half brightness it kinda feels like it may still be active!?!?!? oh well its all fun and games! Hi, yeah i got a feeling its more than just bad connection on bulbs, coz sometimes the (!) warning light comes on half brightness as well as the TRC OFF light!! oh well it disengages the TC anyway so thats all that matters, as long as the fun button works thats all that matters!!! So, I've heard quite a few people saying the stock TC is pants on the supras, but so far i've found it keeps that backend nicley in form several times now on wet slippery roundabouts and once coming over a rise in the road under heavy throttle! - i mean i though this system was quite good - but it is my first car with TC. If this is the case whats the Race Logic stuff like then coz thats supposed to be be the knackers?!?!!?!? Cheers Roosting on the redline -

Hi, hmmmmmm well I'm hoping it'll only be a wiring problem too! , Like today the car had been in the sun all day, so i started it, pressed the TRC OFF button, and the light came on full brightness, and the TC was deactivated. but this morning that car was obvioulsy cold from the night and it did the half brightness stuff!!! hmmmm I hate problems like this! oh well i'll be looking at it this weekend so i'll let you lot you know how i got on!!! failing that it may be a full on Diagnostic session to see if its more serious!!! -
Hi, I have a UK TT auto and it has the standard traction control fitted. Now it always works and kicks in just in time when the back end decides to get a little "fruity". But sometimes when i switch it off stange things happen! It seems when the cars colder and you switch the TC off the TRC OFF light glows at half brightness and the ( ! ) warning light in the rev guage illuminates at half brightness too. I have not fully tested it too see if the TC is no longer operating when these lights come on like this as i discovered it whilst driving a while ago. Then sometimes you do it and the TRC OFF light glows fully and the ( ! ) warning light is off. I did test it however when it did this and the TC is deactivated! Has anyone else heared, or seen of this happening before!??!? I get this horrible ££££££££££ feeling from my wallet when stuff this occurs!! I'm thinking of taking it in next week to get a diagnostic done any idea how much this is from Toyota - it was about £35 from Honda when i had my Prelude checked a while ago Well cheers for any info! Excellent, cheers for the info, i'll check these sources out and see how i get on! I'll be ordering two sets of side repeaters as my mate has a MK2 MR2 GT T-BAR and he uses exactly the same side repeats as the supra. Cheers Redline Rooster

Hi, I have a UK spec supra, and it currently has the standard orange front and side repeater indicator lenses. Now i think they look wrong especially on a storm blue car, and i've tried some of the usual companies/outlets near where i am, but they dont do supras! So, i was wondering if anyone has fitted them to thier cars and if so, whether they could let me know where to get em from cheers Redline rooster

ahhh, right OK cheers then. I should be doing it in the next week or so, so hopefully it'll all go nice an smoothly OK cheers for the info guys! Redline roost

Hi, OK i'll make sure i do that, basically then its totally safe so long as there are no keys in the ignition? I wouldn't have had any in there anyway whilst removing that dash, but still very useful to know! What happens if the dash is off and then you turn the ignition on, say to test the new head unit before re assembly?? does it do it then? if so what does it mean, does it mean the air bags at fault or is it just some bizaar wiring issue!! cheers for the help! OK, cheers guys thats good to know - because at first sight you just think its gonna be a whole load of trouble! Pete i'll check your info out too, thanks!! I'll let you know how i get on cheers!

Hi, I was thinking of changing the standard factory fit CD/Radio with my other head unit from my old car - but looking at the way the factory fit unit is installed, it seems you have to take of the dashboard face panel to get to it. It looks like the dials and buttons will stay in place - so basically i was wondering if anyones done it and how easy it is to do!??! I'm gonna have my head unit on the bottom deck and my custom G meter on the top deck - should make a nice touch gadget wise!! anyway if anyones knows anything and has any hints an tips that would be cool! cheers Redline rooster

Hi Matt, yeah i'd be interested in that for sure!!! what sort of meet is it, is it just Supras or a full Jap car meeting?!?! Either way I wouldn't mind seeing that! Not too sure where Bluewater is though, so if you got any more details that would be cool! cheers!

Hi Paul, so the Auto boxes should be able to take more BHP then, thats good because I just wanted to know for sure really because engine mods are alway a possible thing incase i ever get the need for more ponies under the bonnet and as for the turbos I the steels ones are heavier like you day as I've just been reading some other threads too hmmmmmm I think that gives me more to think about now!! cheers all i got to do now is find the right car!! I've been for a few test drives now and every time i get back i've got a grin from ear to ear!!! just cant wait to have my own!! ahahah cheers
-
Hi, I got some more questions to ask on my on going quest to gain ultimate knowledge and become the chosen one............ errrr yeah right basically, I'm gonna be getting a Supra pretty soon, and its most likely going to be an Auto. Now how much BHP can the auto boxes take before any serious mods need doing to them, I've read they can handle up to 380BHP with just running different grade CVT oil?!?!? is this true HELP!!! Also I know the UK spec comes with steel turbos as standard, and the J spec have ceramic, what was the reason for this and are there any advantages for either?!?!?! I assumed it was because the UK spec has 330BHP, large throttle body and injectors etc as standard, but like i say i'm not 100% on this!! well if you can shed some light on these points that would be cool! cheers guys Redline Rooster!

Hi, Well yeah it turns out the car i was gonna look at was a NA I'm only after the TTs and I didn't know the TTs were only 6 speed, I'm sure the guy at work said his TT was a 5 speed!?!? oh well cheers for the info! - i think though i may go for an auto as finding a nice 6 speed TT is about likly as me inventing perpetual motion! Cheers Redline Rooster

Hi, I'm on the hunt for a Supra at the mo, now up until now i've driven the Auto supras, and was very impressed with the auto box, silky smooth and very quick. However there is a 5 speed manual that i'm gonna look at in the next few days, and I was just wondering if any of you guys knew of any repetative problems with the tranny or clutch. I'm only asking this because a guy at work reckoned he had no end of trouble with the 2nd and 3rd gear synchro, and it ate its way through clutches, he ended up putting a modded racing clutch on there but then he moaned about the heavy clutch feel anyway i'd really be gratefull for any views you might have!! cheers Radline Rooster!!
