Hi all, Just bought my SZ in from japan, the insurance company want to know if it needs something called an SVA test doing before they will insure me. Been phoning around and havent really got anywhere with it...so was wandering what you guys that have imported have done yourselves. Its my first import so havent really dealt with this sort of thing before. I need my insurance before i can get it UK registered! Its a 1994 N/A,l ive got all the import details and Jap export details etc...and its been MOT'd. If anyone can help i'd appreciate it.

Think it had a veilside kit on it, or something similar... Didnt get a good enough look at it.

Was broken down on the opposite side going southbound, Hope it wasn't anything serious!! Was round about the Notts - Sheffield area.

Just looked at the one on ebay.... its absolutly stunning!! How much do you think it'll fetch? Will definatly be keeping my eye on it.

Thats pretty much what i'm looking at spending, had a browse through the trader and there's a few that have caught my eye. I'll wait till friday when my local mag come's out and see whats in there too.. i'm hoping to get a decent manual sooner rather than later! I'll definatly try out the auto too... never know do ya. Im looking at getting a manual myself....although ive never driven an auto before. May be worth looking into getting a test drive in one... Just think i'd have more fun with the manual Just waiting for the perfect N/A to come along now, how do they fair against the CTR? Dan.

Sorry about all the questions guys, but ive thought of a couple more that i need 2 know about, - Can you get a throttle body conversion for the n/a.. is there anyone on here that has if you can? - also, if you lived on a long enough 'private' road... what would be the approx top end of the n/a.. just out of interest. im sure i read that it was 145?? What sort of cars do the N/A struggle against then? Obviously im looking for it to be a fairly decent performer, but looks are just as important... which it definatly has. The two n/a's above look stunning !!

Thanks for the opinions guys, like i said before... the n/a route is going to be the one for me. In a few years ill look at getting the TT or possibly the single conversion. Got my supra pdf guide from here, and im off to look at my first one later today Thanks again for the help Danny

yeah i know, done a bit of research on that one. Its going to be a toss up between the turbo conversion and buying a TT in a few years i think If anyones got any opinions on that i'd be greatful to hear them.

Thanks for the posts guys, i think the n/a option is the way forward for me at the minute... like you have said, in the future i could always opt for the single turbo. As for the skyline... my insurance will be nearly 1k cheaper on the supra, and tbh there won't really be alot of difference betwen them i wouldnt have thought. Like i say, the supra wins hands down in the looks department in my opinion, and i LOVE the purr of the engine. I take it as the TT and N/A engine sound similar? (obviously without the spooling of turbos) Thanks again Danny

Hi everyone First of all, just want to introduce myself, my names Danny and im looking at getting my first supra in the near future!! Just a few questions i have though... ive been searching the forum for info on the n/a ( which is what im looking at getting) but cant help thinking that it may not be as quick as i want it to be. What other cars would you guys compare it too car wise? I love the looks of the supra, but cant really afford the TT at this moment in time. Was also looking at the skyline r33 gts-t, but much prefer the supra to be honest. Any help would be appreciated.. thanks in advance Danny
