hi. First of all Pig the scooby is more comfortable and easier to drive than my previous bpu supra. But subaru has not got the looks i must admit.I dont drive the scooby during the week coz i got van for work so a supra would be ideal again.Dont like the supra as an everyday car. It was late when i got home from work this evening so it was dark and couldnt take pictures. Will get pics up soon. Lucifer-am interested in single, keep me posted. Since a lot of people pm me looking for more info i will give it here. Subaru is prodrive style like this one.Its the version with Large spoiler.Go to page two to read about the PPP upgrade to 305bhp. http://www.iwoc.co.uk/my2002stiuk.html My car had not this done.Instead i recently had it at power engineering in uxbridge(search for website) and have had it tuned to 328bhp.This included full t75 exhaust system including twin dump downpipe and sports cat, uprated fuel pump/panel filter and the all important ECUTEK remap.Future upgrades can be taken like FMIC and bigger turbo taking it to 400bhp.My girlfriend thinks its fast enough below 4000rpm! Car goes like a bomb.I Only use it weekends,Has 44k miles, excellent condition. Will get pics tomorrow hopefully. Anyone interested pm me with info and pics of their car.I value my car at about £13000-so you can work from that figure http://www.iwoc.co.uk/my2002stiuk.html

send me some pics/info on car to [email protected] Scooby is great.really like it but everytime i see a supra i wish i had one.you must know the feeling.I will take some pictures tomorrow and post them up.ITs the prodrive style version so has big rear spoiler, blue in colour of course.Pulls like a train wet or dry.328bhp so can't be bad, most sti's are 265bhp stock.PPP version has 305bhp

Quick question for someone who knows the right answer. Is it illegal to display your front number plate on the dash or Does it need to be on the front end bumper?

Clunky clunk gearbox/clutch/flywheel?
NIALLRUSSELL_HO replied to NIALLRUSSELL_HO's topic in mkiv Technical
Thanks Lee,I will try that at the weekend. It should make it easier to manage the clutch too -
I have searched for the last 2 hours on this and have learned quite a bit. Some more info would be great. First off I will let ye know i have a n-reg j-spec 6speed TT bpu++.Only own it about a week so still learning the car. What bothers me is the clunky noise from the gearbox.I have figured out for certain the car has an uprated clutch since it is extremely grabby and makes a small noise when not engaged.once i engage the clutch the noise stops. What bothers me is the clunks from the gearbox.I have researched and am led to believe that this is so because i must have a lightened flywheel/not the dual mass type>Is this correct? Symtoms are If i am in second gear and slow down going over a ramp its clunk clunk time and also when i pull away slowly after going over the ramp its clunk clunk again until the car picks up some revs.Taking off and slowing down in first gear is clunky too.Is this normal?.Its not very nice in traffic having an amazing looking car that sounds like a tractor. Also i have to convince everyone that sits in the car that the gearbox is not going to fall off. Does all this sound familiar to anyone?Am i making the correct assumption that its the flywheel that causing this noisey clunky gearbox? Is the remedy to install a stock dual mass flywheel? Anyone in the st.albans area that would have a look at this for me as i am a new supra owner and do need help. How can i tell if i have a lightened flywheel, anyone got a picture of the stock one.Sorry for the long post guys. Any help you can offer would be grately appreiated

You need to check out the FAQ and Guides section of the forums.its all in there in loads of detail

Thanks for all the positive feedback. I like to park the car on its own in a carpark. When i come outa the shops i say dam that looks good and its all mine.you know the feelin?
-
Have my tt j-spec supra a few days and have a question regarding the clutch. It feels heavier than normal and its very grabby with a tiny biting point.really hard get used to.Makes really loud noises especially in reverse and below 2000rpm.the noise seems to be coming from the gearbox.I consider myself a competent driver and find the clutch hard to use. My question is: Is this an uprated racing clutch.Car came from japan so i dont know.Is there any way to find out what type.where do i look. thanks for any info
-
U got same seats as me.really nice m8
-
I will take some more CLOSE-UP pics tomorrow for you.Its raining out now so it will have to wait. anyone got info on my clutch. how do i find out what type it is?

Hi,I am a newbie and took some quick pictures of my supra today. Really really like it.gets loads of attention.Loads of power compared to my dc-2. Picked it up last friday. Its a facelift J-spec tt manual 6 speed.N-REG. Running about 1.2bar boost.Thats what avc-r reads but Don't know how to work it yet! any1 got a manual or quick start guide? Blitz intercooler Coilover suspension. Decatted with full exhaust system. 18" chromw dished alloys full bodykit nice black recaro's brand new I dont know if the clutch has been upgraded but maybe someone can tell me.The car is really hard to drive.I mean the clutch has a biting point of about 2mm.I Have konked out about 5 times already but i am getting used to it.It grinds and clunks when i go slow and in reverse it grinds loudly.I have to really concentrate pulling off in first, especiallly on a hill. Does this sound familiar for an upgraded clutch. First thing i am going to do is get the car on a dyno.see what its making.any ideas? Let me know what ye think of the car guys. Hope to meet up with you all at some meet in the future. great site here with a wealth of info keep up the good work http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/9531/suprafront9nx.jpg http://img114.imageshack.us/img114/1126/supraback5ip.jpg http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/526/front0pb1.jpg http://img119.imageshack.us/img119/2245/interior9kc.jpg
