  1. Whole lotta Rosie! Got any good advice from this thread yet? I know i have heh. m.
  2. I can do 350 on a tank if it is a 70mph cruise in the NA - it takes 60litres of fuel though. 300 running about a bit. m.

    Nov / Dec Meet

Well that's that then Ruined! May as well not bother Sure someone will give you a ride along if you fancy it. m.
  4. So offer not good enough for you then? Polite way to mention it.
  5. I'm trying the Falken 452's highly recommended. £104 delivered for the fronts and £127 delivered for the rears from Camskill. http://www.camskill.co.uk Wouldn't touch Mytyres with a stolen wheel brace. Bad experiences with them. m.

    Which car??

MX5 unless you want to go through headgaskets like mad. In fact get her a lada, she clearly knows nothing about cars and as such won't appreciate the fine handling and rear wheel drive action and thus doesn't deserve anything better than an eastern block tank. m.
  7. Read "put it in a box and have an air supply" - just like the standard unit you swapped off. Be careful though the car will be a huge difference to anything you've driven before. m.
  8. Hmm having lived at Whitechapel, Streatham and Harringay i have to say London is nice for visit but not the best place to live. Working in Farringdon and Clerkenwell was ok though and it is nice to stroll past national monuments on your way to work. Some never fail to impress. m.
  9. Your get out with eBay is if you ask them ten million questions and they tell you its fine but when you get there is a bag of nails. Its like phoning in autotrader, being told it is in excellent condition and then turning up to find a right dogs dinner (hate it when sellers do that - why do they think you'll even entertain the car after you've been lied to). If the car wasn't as described then you can walk away. m.
  10. I'll be travelling up on tuesday (i'm coming down monday night though) coming to rotherham though so not too far from nottingham, depends where you are exactly. Also the item would need to fit in the boot, i'll have two rear tyres on the back seat! you could drop the stuff off at the weekend though and i'll just pick it up tuesday. m.
  11. Well if it provisionally comes back and it'll fit an NA then i could collect saturday. m.
  12. I see the reasoning but i can't imagine it working. The drug does not cause them to commit crime they do it because they want it. I don't think there is a single person in the country that thinks it is a good idea to take something like heroin, they choose to do it, they choose not to get off it and then if they do a lot go straight back on. Example of this is prisons, lots of schemes in there to help them off it, some leave prison clean but they go straight out and get a fix. They are druggies because they want to be druggies (in the main) and nothing is going to stop that. Same with smokers, no one who smokes believbes it is healthy but they smoke because they like it, same for going out and getting drunk, not good but we do it anyway. Supersize Me - there was a stupid idea, yes eating McD's for 30 days isn't going to be good for you but you couldn't eat lettuce for 30 days and still be healthy, we know junk food is bad but hey it tastes good. Smack heads are just an extreme form of this, they won't give up unless they want to and i can't see a scheme like this actually making them stop. m.
  13. Cheers chaps. Not that clean though, you can see the muck on the pics from the front Plus the bonnet had all dried muck on it which is why all the shots are low down. Thinking of making the one with the lights on my avatar though. Pic done underneath a viaduct just on the edge of Whitby because it was sunny. No other reason heh m.
  14. Check your boot is closed. I took a previous car in to a garage and they'd caught the boot release on the floor then tried to sell me a new battery when they couldn't start the car they just left the boot open and the light on for 2 days. m.
  15. Ok not a lot of Whitby scenes but some lovely pics of Mertoc. Not bad considering she'd come from Scotland in the rain and not had a wash! Black hard to keep clean? Psssh! m.
  16. Nottinghamshire copper reckons that junkies should be prescribed smack on the nhs to help cut crime. At what point do we stop rewarding people for crime or giving stupid treatments for situations they have only got themselves to blame for? I'm not heartless but really, free drugs? I'd rather see waiting lists cut and a hard working granny getting her hip replacement than pay for these wasters. end of rant. m. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/nottinghamshire/6172392.stm
  17. UK TT for me was cheaper than an import NA a few years ago. NAs are going cheaply at the moment though. I'd still want above 4k for mine, its important to hold out and sell for what it is worth. My FTO went for a grand more than some were being sold for but it was in great condition inside and out. Bloke saw it, didn't appreciate the price and went away to look at some onthers for less money. Realising they were all poor he came back and paid cash for mine. Trouble is getting a person round in the first place to see the difference between a much loved club car and a eBay banger. m.
  18. I think i'm about the suffer a similar problem. Not sure if the rims really are split or just a faux version like above but according to the man at the tyre place i won't find anyone to refurb them in Scotland. Should check with Pete on what they are exactly... m.
  19. Why aren't Adrian Flux doing some free tickets for this?
  20. The reno engine was fine, the issue was with the electrics. The service lights on the laguna were always on, event he garage couldn't make it turn off. Then it decided the ABS wasn't working even though it was (again Reno dealer couldn't fix) and then i think the passenger window stopped going up and down. Saab has an air of cool i think. Noty a status car but interesting to people none the least. Given the sales in their home market and the weather conditions they can't be that bad. Golf is ver slow and heavy, you'd be better off with a Seat Ibiza/Leon or a Focus TDCI but they are probably a bit high cost for what you want. m.
  21. Apparently the airbox on the NA is better than an induction kit so less for insurance to worry about! m.
  22. How much is a good S15 going for at the moment? My brother in law has a S14 at the moment which he's tuned a fair bit but i know he is fancying an S15 and went to see one at the weekend (turned out to be a bit of a shed though) m.
  23. Sure they were all Silvia in Japan weren't they? Grand Turismo says so so it must be true The engine was used in a few cars though including the Pulsar. Quite easy to tune but apparently S15 is easiest to get big power out of as it is quite restricted in standard form. Not common though. S14s and 13s seem to be the ones for drifting. m.
