  1. Quick check - i thought steam cleaning was frowned on a bit as it can get damp into electrics. any bits need bagging up at all? m.

Here's the pics from last weekend's recce. First two pics along the Carron Valley the last one is after coming over Duke's Pass. if the weather is the same it'll be great. m.
  3. For an exhaust that costs so much that's really quite poor. Are there any completely stainless ones out there? m. EDIT: Kevin seems to have a different opinion. anyone know for sure?
  4. Hmmm don't forget winter might calm it down a bit too as the friction to the road will be less as it'll be wet a lot (assuming you are driving through winter). Good luck with the search! m.
  5. Falken's are getting great reviews. Shop around a bit though as £130 seems high. 265/35/R18 £111 delivered from Camskill but try Tyre Traders and Pro Alloys on here too. m.

Poor form - dirty weekend or a bacon roll? Can't believe you are passing up some tasty hot flesh for er... best not go there. You should tell the mrs though "i'd had the chance to do silly things in fast cars this weekend accompanied by some tasty pig flesh in bread but i turned it down to be with you hen" that'll make her feel special m.

Unless anyone has any different ideas we can run with this. I did the route last weekend to check it out and its about 100 miles round trip, some great scenery too. If its dry it'll be a good run. m.
  9. Norhampton? shire i suppose i was going on trips to the football, a good 100 mile trip down there. 34 south or rotherham, so that's what? 70 miles from leeds. m.
  10. Its a long way below leeds then heh. hope you get it sorted. m.
  11. Thought you said it was all well down south now? Still heading down tonight and back up tomorrow... Won't be going further south than Rotherham though but that is a bit further south than leeds at least. m.
  12. My Supra understeers, it only oversteers with an excess of right foot, i'd expect something with such a large nose and an engine at the front to understeer. What gets people is when the car behaves in an unexpected way. Lift off oversteer was a big issue for 205 GTis back in the day, loads left the road because it didn't behave like a front wheen drive car normally does. The FTO has the same issue, push it too hard and instead of understeer the back comes round, not right for a front engined car. Electronics also cause issues and or make things worse. My mate nearly piled his mini cooper because it had the ESD stability thing on it. He's a great driver having done rallys the lot so pushing the car down a road it began a small slide, mate corrected it at the same time as the computer decided to apply the brake to one rear wheel thus over correcting the issue and producing a huge wobble on to the wrong side of the road. He drives with it turned off now. m.

To quote Gone in 60 Seconds - "Hey, people gotta eat right?" If you can bag a lift i'll get your roll. Can't say fairer than that! m.

You have to come - you're in charge of the bacon roll stop! m.
  16. Sorry to see this SK but glad everyone is ok. Put me down as another about that alloy though. As for the rest of the debate this is where i think being a biker is another bonus, masses of power, rear drive and at best two inches of rubber on the road. Watching for white lines, manhole covers, drains, cracked and different tarmac is all part of the experience. That said i've had the NA wiggle on me in the wet. As good as RLTC probably is i have to say the driver is the important part here, i'd strongly advocate a good session on a skid pan with an instructor because that bit of knowledge would probably have been just as good as any RLTC installation. m.

Did a recce this weekend and its about a 100 mile round trip. The roads were wet but it wasn't raining and while there are a few tight bits it seemed ok. in 15 miles i met one other car. THe towns were still busy of course but if we can get there without being stuck behind a coach it should be a top day out. Invited some mates from the FTO OC too since we're all about inclusion heh. m.
  18. i haven't got an email at all... Hmm not even a junk mail. PM me i'll get that. Apologies i thought a polite thanks but no thanks would have been in order. Down south now? Shirley that's the wrong way? Still sort it if you want... m.
  19. How long have you lived there? sounds like you haven't a clue what you've got and your boiler could probably benefit from a service. Get a few quotes and do it as an arranged visit from a firm / recommended person then you can avoid any call out charges. m.
  20. He's toddled off to Vauxhall and been told the price for literally a brand new one. Just say you'll get it fixed andif he's not happy then you'll speak to different people and leave it at that. No need to mention mates or anything. £600+ on a y plate astra? You are only fixing the bumper not buying the car! m.
  21. Mytyres really screwed me over for my MOT. Ordered some 235/40/R17s off them in advance of the MOT (well in advance) and a week later nothing. I natuarally followed up, they admited the mistake and said they were in the warhouse and would be sent out asap. another week, still nothing, i chase again. They admit they don't have any of those tyres in stock and instead offer me some Nanking's at a price higher than the website price! By now it was too close to the MOT to waste another week with them (they didn't apologise the second time at all). Ordered from Camskill and they were with me the next day, great service. Shop about though, Mytyres are cheap for some but more expensive for others. Different sites seem to have deals with different manufactures so Blackcircles also offer good and bad price. Tyre Traders is another. m. EDIT: Price Comparison for two delivered tyres, prices per tyre though Falken 452 235/40/R17 Blackcircles £73.32 + £10.50 delivery Mytyres £71.80 delivery free (if you are lucky and usually takes at least a week as they seem to be in Germany) Tyre Traders £74.50 delivery free. can't comment on times Camskill £71 delivery free within two days m.

Snappers are always good if you want to invite him along. Other cars i don't see why not personally - what about everyone else? m.
