  1. a couple of weeks back my car decided to start squeaking from the rear when its driven. when stationery and the back end is pushed up and down the squeak re-appears. i did a bit of research on here and came to the conclusion that it may be the bushes. anyway i took it to a garage and the mechanic checked it over and told me both rear shocks need changing along with both rear upper arms! i wasnt going to argue as he was a mechanic afterall but i cant help thinking he's pulling the p1ss as the car flew through its mot about 2 months ago. surely the dude who mot'd my car would have picked up on the fact that these parts were on their last legs or not?
  2. i admire those who follow through with their sale of their supras. after nearly 4 years of ownership im still no where near wanting to sell it or change it.
  3. granted it will offend people but she has just as much freedom of free speach as all of us. she isnt breaking any laws (i dont think) its interesting the different views there are when it comes to mocking the dead. many would have laughed at MJ jokes but find this picture disgusting. on numerous occasions on Mock the Week Frankie Boyle has made jokes about princess diana including her having a gang bang in the middle of a mine field which strangely didnt get any complaints. i dont find the jamie bulgar pic funny or humerous but at the same time it doesnt offend me either. there are worse things in the world, and closer to home, to get worked up about imo.
  4. so where does retrieving the cost of the vehicle come in? i may be missing something here but from what youve posted shows how it offsets the amount of tax you pay at the end of the year.
  5. it just sounds to good to be true:blink: am i right in saying that you claim a percentage of the cost of the van each year?
  6. when you say 'all expenses' does that include the cost of the vehicle as well?
  7. Ive spent numerous hours googling this but cant seem to make sense of whats coming up so hoping that you knowledgable folk may be able to help. im looking to get something for work along the lines of a van or pick up. with that in mind what, if any, expenses can i claim back for it? is it better to take one out on lease or to buy it outright?

    Ive got a job!

thanks guys ilicos - il no doubt be sending you some pm's over the weekend with a few questions
  10. As some of you know i was made redundant the end of last year. At the time i wasnt so worried as i had savings behind me. However being off work for 3 months and seeing those savings going down with nothing coming in isnt a nice feeling. I was kinda stuck as to what to do or try to do in regards to work until out of the blue a couple of weeks back i had a phone call off an old work colleague/manager who was also made redundant but was lucky enough to have a new job a week later. His new role had him in quite a senior position and a job had come up where he recommended me. Sent in my CV last week and just had the call a few minutes ago saying that i can start as soon as possible! Il be working as a freelance assistant site manager under my old boss. So next tuesday i pack up and leave sunny wales for Torquay!!!
  11. this brings back painful memories of my apprenticeship
  12. thanks for the replies guys. ive decided to tackle the repairs myself as a kinda 'little project' considering the amount of time i have on my hands these days.
  13. its a GT, not sure on the model but paid around £500 for it a good few years ago. i had a feeling the forks wouldnt be cheap
  14. with the weather getting nicer i decided to dig out the bike from the folks shed today. i havent used it for a few years and as a result a lot of the stuff has seized such as the shocks, brakes, gears etc. could a novice like myself fix these sorta problems or are they a specialist job? are the shocks repairable or will i have to get new ones? if so how much would i be looking at to replace them for a half decent set? im just trying to work out wether it would be cheaper for me to buy a new bike or tart this one up.
  15. both of my rears need changing. slight hi jack but wheres the best/cheapest place to get them from?

  18. ive always liked these for some odd reason. a huge butch lesbian lives near me has got an all blacked out one, looks the nuts.
  19. just looks like a boxster to me. give me the GTR.
  20. ive found travelrepublic.com to be cheap. we managed to get a week in magaluf (just a slight difference to what your looking for ) for a mates stag week for £183 per person.
  21. After having someone drive into the back of me last year i had a full respray on the rear bumper, happy days. However a few days ago i noticed two 50p size patches of the paint on the rear bumper had flaked off. I was just about to phone the bodyshop to have a bit of a whinge at their workmanship until i noticed a crack in the number plate, a few more scratches on the bumper and 'spider webbing' (i think thats the term) in the sam area. It was obvious looking at the over all condition that someone has gone into the back of me again. to say i was p1ssed off was a bit of an understatement. its not massively noticeable but its annoying. is it possible to have a body shop touch up these areas or would another full respray be needed?
  22. they aint living next door to me unless theyve both had boobs jobs, dyed their hair blonde and speak fluent polish.
