thanx all!! hey dave im in llanelli aswell, where abouts are you? the grin factor with these things is unbelievable really need to sort the speakers out as soon as, as they are the only thing that im not liking at the moment. the amazing thing about the car is the stares and comments it gets off people and them wanting to know how i could afford it when in actual fact most of thier rep mobiles cost twice as much!

oh and i dug deep into my now empty pocket to join up as a fully fledged member!!!

picked up a lovely gun metal 97 N/A today after a very long train journey full of women in big hats heading for ascot. had a 3 hr drive back, then had to pay to get bak into my own fookin country!!! anyway wat can i say?!?! no pictures do the supra justice and the noise on that engine......!!! it is the gun metal one of the pistonheads site £6495 but i got it a lot cheaper. anyway il post some pics up later and will start my assault of questions for you all iv just gotta pop out and drive it again!!!

im not really too bothered about the power difference between the n/a and TT as there arent that many places around here where i could really open it up and i dont drive much either (2500 miles last year) to justify the extra cost of buying a TT (my budget is around 6k at the moment) thats why iv more or less decided on an n/a.

i knew the n/a could shift, this one almost hits warp factor 5!!!! yeah il keep you all informed on how it goes. got a few TT's that iv got my eye on but would prefer the facelift model.

well spotted! is the asking price accurate for a supra of this spec and age??

yeah thats excactly what i was thinking adam ,anything can go wrong no matter what condition the car is in. i owned an mgf for a yr and although it was cheap enough to run i almost had a heart attack when the garage gave me a quote to change the cam belt! not the easiest of jobs on that particular car! the time has come to have a change and although i was looking at a 2002 audi TT i decided i wanted to go jap and the supra fitted all my criteria and surprised me when i found out i could get one for less than half of what i would have paid for the audi, so the bank account wont take as much of a hammering:)

fuel costs wont cause a major problem as i use a company vehicle everyday (only done 2500 miles over the last yr in my own car). on the performance side of things im not to bothered about it as its more the looks of the car that appeal to me (especially de-winged:cool: ) so a NA will do me just fine. will be looking at adding subtle things ie alloys and lowering. these are just my preferences so no one go having a pop at me with things such as 'supras are meant for big power etc.... as has been done in various forums in the past with me asking about speakers in a certain lightweight vauxhall 2 seater:rolleyes: !!

struggling to find anything with the FAQ and search sections. i can tell you what cheap in my opinion is if people give me examples of certain costs ie servicing,various repairs etc as i have vary little knowledge of these. i want to find out as much as possible before taking the plunge and buying one to prevent the shock of a garage saying 'right thats gona cost £xxx for replacing this or that'

just read the parkers review on the supra (tt) and makes it clear that it isnt cheap to run. this is understandable with a car like this but does the same apply to the NA?? with it not having the obvious of a turbo are there any other things which you'l find on the tt and not on the NA(mechanically)??

im gona stick with the NA for the time being then maybe upgrade to the tt in a while. what are the difference in performance figures between the two (0-60,bhp, etc)??
