  1. Yup, sat for me I'm afraid. It's no Sup but it's not that bad, it'll be a practical runner for carting the kayaks and other outdoor stuff when I take it down to Cornwall at the start of next year. Gave it a damn good clean and I've got a few bits and pieces ordered to bring it back up to standard. I've got Nic my girlfriend into the Whole Jap vibe now so we've got big plans for a really nice sorted fast road single (not Jamie P's car powerful but along those stock lines) six speed. The house down here even has a nice clean tidy garage with an inspection pit for me to work on it in. Beaut! I'll keep myself busy in the time being sticking my nose into the uber clean world that is the dub scene. Dave
  2. Aw mate, Really glad your happy with her. Got to say although not what I'm used to the passat is a nice wee runner and should do just what I need from it. Have fun and be gentle till you get the hang. Dave
  3. Well it's a sad day for me tomorrow and a happy one for Alex. It's taken a while for it to really sink in that I'll be selling the Supra. It did today, feel a bit like my arm has been cut off or something and was just about in tears telling my mate about it earlier. But, everyones gotta move on. I've got to go 'practical' (boring) for the next wee while, I'll be back soon once I've actually sold some of the vital organs and hopefully be driving a nice 6-speed bpu twin or big single from the likes of Jurgen or Paul. Can't see me leaving the passat standard for long either. Alex seems like a good bloke and hopefully you're all gonna help him out as much as you've helped me in the past. Only request Alex don't go veilside, I will hunt you down. I'll still be around and look forward to my comeback someday soon. Dave
  4. Hey Folks, Well it seems that Supra's are still pretty rare (well other than in Aberdeen ). Me and the girlfriend did the drive down to Cornwall with all our stuff in a van then back up to Aberdeen over the past week and only saw two the whole time. A nice stock silver one around the midlands area and a despoilered, possibly matt black one down near Truro. I'm tempted to keep the NA, but I'm still keen to try out a big power single so that's probably gonna be the way forward. Nice to know that we still have some exclusivity! Dave
  5. Hey Guys, Well Alex had a look at my Sup today and seemed pretty keen. Not sure if he's sold on the Auto box, having never driven an auto before. I tried to reassure him that it's a bit daunting to start with but you soon get used to it. I guess only time will tell. I've got to admit it did make me wonder if I was doing the right thing in selling, but practicality is calling, at least for a wee while. Dave
  6. Aw Liam mate, that brings a tear! If drift buys mine and you give me a little while to gather some more money for a single, you're all welcome to do a cruise down to Cornwall and stay for a couple nights. Scottish Gumball stylie??? Just a thought.
  7. Alright James, Not fancy a nice green NA? Go on you know you wanna! Dave
  8. Hey There, Welcome to the club mate, you won't find a better bunch to help find the right car for you. However I may have exactly what your looking for. I am as Keith mentioned still looking to sell (only to move to a single sometime soon) my pride and joy. I had a look at your Passat on Pistonheads and I'd be interested in either a straight swap if you're keen just to buy. She's not exactly what you're looking for being an Auto, but if you're looking towards an NA-TT conversion it's not much of an addition to change to manual at the same time. Details: N reg - personal plate N/A - Auto Factory Green 111,000 km = 69K miles MOT'd today, Taxed till 'Sep Fairly clean car with only a few dings (got to be honest as she isn't totally pristine) Bodywork is completely standard Full jap style exhaust - full decat but cat will be there as part of sale 18" alloys (little bit scuffed but would look good as new with a re-furb) Ohh... she's got the bigger Turbo brakes on her, callipres have all been painted too so look brand new Leather seats Bluetooth Sony headunit + upgraded Fusion speakers + nice custom sub and amp set up (ask the other Aberdeen members) For pics please see my garage. See what you think and send me a pm if you're interested. I'm offshore till Saturday but will be available after that. Cheers Dave
  9. Old School and Marmite! Having said that on the right car.....I......kinds......nah just can't bring myself to like them. Certainly individual!
  10. The T5's are beautiful mate, I've got MVK T5 copies on mine. Pics in my garage.
  11. I'll be relocating to Cornwall that weekend so unless I can convince the girlfriend that a slight detour for half an hour to pop in past and say hi is needed, I'll not be going Following on from our success at the NEMS I can't see why a good club stand couldn't be put together. Good on you for taking the initiative Liam! I'll be checking back into this thread to see how it all goes. Dave
  12. Cheers to all you guys for a fantastic day out. It was good to meet so many folk up in Aberdeen for a change, next year we'll have to make a full weekend of it and all have a proper drive together too. Big thanks go out to Keith for organising the whole thing and well done to us all for getting best stand. Cheers Dave

  14. Hi Spider, That did look like a nice Supra, but like you say probably best to stay clear after seeing the damage on it. If you're still looking for one I'm still thinking about selling mine. She's fairly stock and could do with a couple of things doing here and there but she would be within your budget. I'm only thinking of selling due to a change in circumstances, but will be saving up and coming back, hopefully in a big power single. Got my eyes on this or something similar: http://www.garagewhifbitz.co.uk/index.php?option=com_rdautos&view=detail&id=31&Itemid=64 It'll be end of July before I'm back onshore and looking to sell, but if your still looking for the right one then, just give me a shout. You can find pics in my garage. Cheers Dave
  15. Those are beautiful rims mate, I do like the style of the manias too but I'd go for the same style from a japanese manufacturer. Is cash a factor for the new set? whats your budget?
  16. Hey guys, Well I got mine back and she's passed her MOT this time, even sounds a bit better at high revs now Murdo has stuck a silencer in with the decat pipe. Only problem is the guys at Car Clinic managed to shear one of the manifold bolts so now she's 'breathing' a little freely shall we say. I did think there was something different before I dropped her at Wallace but they've confirmed it. She's re-booked for whenever they get time (could be 2-3 weeks). I was speaking to one of the guys about yours Marc and he confirmed that they'd pretty much done everything they could to diagnose the problem, without stripping the engine, something they don't have time for right now. He did suggest just taking the engine out since it's already stripped down slightly, sending it to a mainstream Supra tuner then getting them to re-fit it when it comes back. I'm guessing Keith or the other guys will have more suggestions for who but would Jurgen not know someone Newcastle way, to save you going all the way south? I feel for ya bud, all that money on the conversion for her to go tits up without you even getting the summer out of her. Hope you get her sorted soon mate!
  17. Marc, I saw your car sitting outside Wallace's this morning when I dropped off mine. Any more news on her? I spoke to Murdo, but he just said it was making a horrible knocking. Hope your back up and running for the show. I still haven't seen the conversion yet.
  18. Haha I'll tell you after tomorrow She goes into Wallace to get MOT'd tomorrow and I've chosen to get her silenced a little too. Hopefully she'll pass and be back to a noise level where driving no longer requires earplugs or the ipod cranked to full. The missus is pretty good about it but any further than Peterhead and we have to take her car I'm gonna miss setting off beemer alarms as I go up the road though! Dave P.s. It was a moment of madness to sell, She's staying!
  19. As with everything 'offshore' looks like the schedule has changed and I'll now be onshore for this. Look forward to meeting up with and grabbing a beer with you all. Dave P.s. still a space for me in the line-up?
  20. Keith, You're a life saver mate. Spoke to Wallace and they've said they can do that so it looks like I won't be needing the CAT after all. Cheers for your help and cheers to you too Franko we're doing somethin similar to what you've suggested. Dave.
  21. Cheers for that Franko, I might see if Wallace performance know any sympathetic MOT testers, just didn't want to resort to bribery and corruption. Dave
  22. Guys, Really need some help, does anyone have the CAT section from an NA? Wallace performance managed to strip the threads on the probe hole when they removed mine and fitted my new system. I only need it for a day so I can get it through its MOT. I've been trying to find a company in Aberdeen that will tap out the fitting and weld on a new one but no one wants to touch it. I really don't have £520 + VAT to spend on a CAT from Toyota right now. Any help would be great right now. Cheers Dave
  23. Keith, I know mate, I washed her last night ready for going in for her MOT and have to admit I really don't want to give her up. It just might not be practical to keep her. There's no doubt that there's nothing better than climbing in and going for a burn, but the money is whats kicking my arse right now with moving. I'm gonna be offshore for the NEMS if our scheduling doesn't change (doesn't look promising). I'm really p*ssed off as it looks like it'll be a good crowd! Matt, Yeah I'm pretty sure I wouldn't see anything over 2k max for her in the current climate, if that. Sad times!
  24. Whether I'm still running her or not, I can always say I've owned one. My problem is I'm never going to find another car that will live up to the Supra now.
  25. Hi Guys, Its a question loads of people have asked, and I don't want to have to but I have a feeling it's inevitable. I'm moving down to Cornwall soon with my girlfriend but will still be working offshore and up in our Aberdeen office for 1 week out of each month. I can't afford to have the Sup sitting idle outside my flat for 3 weeks, attracting the wrong kind of attention, and need something practical for down south to carry kayaks, surf boards, snowboards and the like. I don't want to sell her, but what sort of price do folk reckon I'd get for her? Details: N reg - personal plate N/A - Auto Factory Green 111,000 km = 69K miles MOT'd today, Taxed till 'Sep Fairly clean car with only a few dings (got to be honest as she isn't totally pristine) Bodywork is completely standard Full jap style exhaust - will be quiet, but will supply full decat kit in sale 18" alloys (little bit scuffed but would look good as new with a re-furb) Ohh... she's got the bigger Turbo brakes on her, callipres have all been painted too so look brand new Leather seats Bluetooth Sony headunit + upgraded Fusion speakers For pics please see my garage. If you can think of any other important info I've missed out please note. Just looking for a figure at the moment. Deeply saddened Dave
