I really want to get my standard tt converted when I have some spare cash. I hadn't realised that the LPG system is bolted on in addition to the usual petrol system. So you can still hack it around when you want to and save the world in the rest of the time

I went in June last year and it rained loads and I was pretty cold most of the time. Very, very expensive too so make sure you have plenty of cash. But go if you can. Have travelled fairly extensively and I have to say, Iceland was second only to Galapagos imho. If I remember corretly there is just one major road around the perimeter of the country. I think some bus services on this road are suspended during the winter months. Also the interior is tricky even outside of winter so suspect it's best avoided. But you will see the vehicles they have and see that they are really geared up to cope with the weather. Was just thinking though that going when there is snow, well the lava landscapes are very dramatic being so barren and tortured and they'll be covered up. Guess a winter trip will be a whole different experiance to a summer trip.

Speeding on public roads and putting other road users lives in danger is wrong, no question. But the fact remains, driving fast is an amazing feeling. How are you going to combat the thrills of speed with a naff advert like this? I rarely use the little finger gesture to men as it is I think, an "I can't think of anything smart to say" insult. Hardly a skillfully crafted witty put down worth getting upset about so I can't see how the ad can be effective (unless fellas are really that sensative??!)

Ah, that's so sad for you. Hope you get your car back on the road soon. Is it all bodywork that is damaged or is the engine and stuff in trouble too?

Have devised a rather flimsy theory. Do the uk spec brakes apply more pressure resulting in wheels locking up in an earlier skid and earlier abs kick in so that you are effectively braking with the maximum amount on force pushing down on the ground through the tyre for longer, which even taking into account the that more skidding wil occur, results in faster net deceleration?

I've got J specs brakes and always used the bog standard Toyota pads until the last set I bought which were called fast roads pads or something. I'm going to change back the standards because they squeal endlessly from the dust (thanks to 40mph limit in channel islands). The main reason I bought them is because the Supra is also the car I use on track days. But really couldn't say that fast pads felt any better than standard, this involved some very hard braking from somewhere in the region of 120mph at the end of the back straight. The thing is, they were smoking quite a bit when I pulled into the pits. Was told it was the copper something or other burning off so that might have something to do with why they didn't seem anything special. I don't quite understand why upgraded brakes are a good thing. If your tyres are sliding you are not going to stop any quicker even if you have tremendous brakes, surely it's all down to loosing grip on the road? So with the j-specs, you can brake hard enough that the tires start to skid and the ABS leaps into action etc. so why would you need more braking power, wouldn't wider or grippier tyres be the better solution Can anyone explain?

Made me cry that video, it's such an awful waste of life Normally you are looking out for the cars doing stupid things, it's good to remember that you are still a danger to other road users when you are on a bike.

That is a really nice design and it's great that you haven't gone for a grumpy dragon. I also like the fact that it isn't detracting from your musculature. It's always a real shame when a fit bloke has an ill considered tattoo that hides his otherwise sexy muscles.

My mate was catching the ferry back from St Malo to Jersey and said he saw loads of super cars, guessed they are going to Le Mans. Was that your lot Wayney? Gutted, was supposed to be going today and then on to a track day to help man the rescue vehicle but it's electrics failed completely this morning so not going now

I'm going with my brother and some friends for the third time and I can't wait! We were there in 2005 when there was all the mud and to be honest, it added a certain novelty to the whole affair, so if it rains and the mud happens again I won't mind. Gonnna pack my wellies just in case though as they sell out in about 2 seconds and it's no fun having your flip flops flicking mud up your skirt! Glasto is just awesome, you are going to love it!

I get a bit embarrased when I mess up parking as I imagine people must be thinking, look at that woman trying to park her boyfriends car! I do feel proud of my car when I see people looking at it tho, Supras are so beautiful

Pain, people dying, the usual stuff. Also, banana skins and all the stringy pithy stuff and the juice in the skins makes me cry. I normally have to get someone else to peel them for me.

Automan was great, he had such a cool car. Bagpuss of course. Battle of the planets. Triumph TR7, my first love. Britain's space. Getting 10p back for returning glass bottles and buying those plasitc tubes with frozen cola drinks in side them with the money. Kiss chase. Books at school: Peter and Jane, Tim and Tobias and the red green and blue pirates with the griffin. I still want my car to be KITT, will never get over that!

My central locking only works by turning the key in the lock on the outside of the passenger door. From inside the car or from the driver's side it is inactive. Also, recently the right hand tail light in the right hand cluster blew so I diligently popped in a new bulb. Then the other red light to the left of it went so yesterday I put in a new bulb. Then one of the bulbs in the left hand cluster went too. So I will change this too I suppose... I'm sure you will agree that this is more than co-incidence. Any ideas what is causing this? I haven't dug out the third bulb yet but the other two had smoky stuff at the top. It all happened after the respray so it's not like I can trace back my steps and I would like to be able to fix it myself as part of my ongoing learning about cars activities rather than just take it back to the body shop. Am I going to be learning about fuses today perhaps? Thanks! Sarnia

Put the new BOV on yesterday and the sound has now dissapeared.

My bog standard 1993 j-spec has been doing this quite loudly for over two years now, mainly when going up hills or under moderate acceleration on the flat. Will be fitting a new stock BOV in the next week or two so it might stop then. (I actually quite like the sound though).
