  1. Could you damage the engine then if you use Tescos 99? Is there a risk of detonation with Tescos 99?
  2. Have you got access to a multimeter mate to test the dimmer? Bloody dashboards! Just put mine back together after the Open day and now got the dreaded code 42 problem!

    Silly Cow

Shame the traffic didn't slow down in front of her when she was looking at you waving that ID card. Did you make any gestures back?
  4. No Martin, is it watered down/full of crap?
  5. You have to spend £50 or more actually in the shop on food and drink etc and they will give you a receipt from the till so you can claim your 5p off. Hope they haven't put prices up here, was enjoing 99 RON for that price!
  6. Think it was 97.9 (thats what 99 octane costs from tescos in weston-super-mare) Was weary of trying it but glad I did - Yum Yum... Supra like Tesco 99!
  7. Well not exactly... With manual turned off, all L or 2 do is stop the box from changing up past that gear whereas with manual mode on it specifally uses the gear selected regardless of what speed you are doing etc. To demonstarate: A: Manual mode off Put the lever in the '2' position and pull away. The car will pull away in 1st gear and change up to 2nd but will then stay in 2nd until you slow down. B: Manual mode on Do the same again, lever in '2' position and then pull away. The car will now actually pull away in 2nd gear and will never change up OR down! Just gives you that little bit more control
  8. They are illegal because cars later than 92' need to pass higher emissions standards and because the law says so! Hence why you won't pass an MOT without them. If you get caught decatted you may just get a defect form and need to get the cats fitted again and have it inspected by an MOT tester. Otherwise I reckon a fixed penalty notice as well as the above.

    Running Costs

Yeah.... your fuel bill!! 12,000 miles a year man, you'd be much better off getting a 2nd car and doing less miles in the Supra. I am sure if you are experienced enough you can do the servicing yourself. I have only had the Supra 2 months but have changed the oil, filter etc myself.
  10. I'm not too scared of the speeds but I do get the adrenaline rush and the shakes after. What really does get me going though is if I push her a little to far and the back end looses traction. That feeling of having no control is horrible and gives you 'that feeling' in your stomach. I've only ever lost traction slightly at low speeds. I am way to sensible and afraid a policeman will be round the next corner to do stupid speeds. The scary thing is - the more I drive it, the slower the car feels as I'm getting used to it which means I have to be careful not to push harder than I should. What about you folks?
  11. Yeah I didn't use it much in the 1st week of owning mine but soon got the urge to play with it when I got used to the cars acceleration!
  12. I use manual to launch to, always seems a little faster to take off. Mine defo spins, but usually spins in 1st before I get near second. As soon as the 2nd turbo boosts in 1st whether dry or wet in manual, wheels spin like mad unless I lift my foot a bit!
  13. I'm really shocked and sorry to hear this. Me and my families thoughts are with Karl and his family through this sad time. Also hope the driver is emotionally ok as I know if was in his position under these circumstances I don't know how well I'd cope. RIP Karl.
  14. Ta very much for bringing this to my attention mate! Gonna save me a bunch of fivers in 2 weeks time!! Oh yeah, and I think its good idea just watch out if you are under 25 (min 21 for these vehicles) and want to drive a group 18-20 car as you have £750 of excess!!! Just thought I should point that out!

    Dead pc

Mine did that, went on holiday and came back and it was just a dead PSU. I expect M'board should be fine if PSU did its job (most are designed to fail without taking the motherboard with it if possible) but is possible still. Next after that its hard drives and finally CPU. Out of all the computers I have fixed due to faulty PSU's I have never known the CPU or Graphics Card to be affected. Lucky in your case with those expensive components you have!
  16. I haven't gone any further with it yet no as I have yet to uprate my fuel pump with a Walbro item yet and have only just changed the oil etc and I've just purchased an FCD. I didn't want to try taking the restrictor ring out before I've made sure the car is in tip top shape first, Plus I'm taking it to Lucifers Bristol meet and hope to get it on the rollers so I know what the car is currently producing. How can you tell how bad your IC really is? I've had a look at it and it looks normal apart from a few broken fins. The car has covered 70,000 miles so is this normal wear and tear for a standard SMIC? I will be getting a FMIC as I said earlier in my posts anyway. How do I check for boost leak? I don't have any experience really with turbos but hopefully interpro in bristol might be able to do a breif health check and the rolling road may show up problems if I have any. PS: 1 last thing, is there an easier way to get at the oil filter on the Supra? I had to take the battery out to get at it. I reckon Toyota forgot to decide where to put the oil filter during development, and then decided to "just stick it in that small gap there mate!" at the end!
  17. I know what you mean China. I don't drive like an idiot in any respect but already have had the back end give me a slap on the wrist a couple of times...
  18. Just read that on PSP-Hacks.com (good source for people wanting to run homebrew!) I'd suggest you go 1.5 as soon as you can mate so you can boot homebrew from the PSP dashboard, but I'd wait until all the bugs are ironed out of this this downgrader as you could easily turn your PSP into an expensive paperweight as whitesup says.
  19. What version of PSP you got? I'm guessing 2.01 or higher as you are using the Liberty City exploit. Be aware that not all homebrew runs on 2.01+ firmware as the software cannot run in kernel mode. Read the readme with ScummVM to check whether it works on 2.01+ If it is compatible with 2.01+ and eloader then it could be that you have not put all the files in the correct directories on the memory stick! I would check for you but might not help as my PSP is 1.5
  20. It is a beautiful car and definately one of a kind. I always have a look back at it when I park it, looks great just sat there! Had mine for 2 months now too, but starting to get used to the power, It no longer has that "shit your pants" factor for me but still does for most passengers! How many miles you done since you had it though? I done over 2000 already! Like having a new bird, at the beginning ya just can't leave her alone!
  21. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/attachment.php?attachmentid=38932&d=1151615407 DODGY: Blimey mate, haven't seen a car so shiney!! Like looking in a mirror! As for topic, I think the Gold looks ok!
  22. Thats great news!! Be sure to let us know as soon as you know anything more! I, for one, am feeling very positive. Hang in there Bud!
  23. Thats dirt cheap mate, but after hearing all this and reading your sig lol I think you'd better change before going single if you want it insured! This is why I had to ask the question, insurance companies can be very sly...
