  1. AVG 9.x does have a new cache/optimisation server feature that will cane your hard drive a bit and generally slow the computer down. Noticed it on mine straight away. You can safetly get rid of it by ending the task - avgchsva.exe and then renaming the avgchsva.exe file inside the AVG program folder so that AVG cannot locate it. (C:\program files\avg...) AVG still works fine and doesn't but an eyelid. This feature will hopefully be optional in later releases!
  2. Was expecting your offer first Jamie! Cheers for the offers guys but had a few PM's with offers and they are closer to the going rate for these. The last offer is now just pending payment. Cheers. Lee.
  3. Does sound diff related to me As you turn the car, one wheel will have to spin faster than the other which obviously is exactly what the diff is for, and thats when the issue occurs. My last car did the same thing although was FWD. Car was perfect in a straight line (I even drove the car 70 odd mile to the garage like it!), but as soon as I tried to put torque either way through the transmission while turning (i.e whether accelerating or engine breaking) I would get a loud clonk/bang. Turned out diff gear was shafted One way I proved it on mine was to lift the car in the air (with chocks around wheels on the ground) so both driving wheels are off the ground, then start the car and put it in gear. The wheels will spin and if you use something to lever between the floor and one of the wheels (I used a piece of thick mdf) it will slow the wheel down slightly to engage the diff and cause the banging/knocking. I'd check the diff oil first and simply try and spin one of the wheels whilst the rear end is off the ground to see if it behaves as it should Lucky for you it's RWD so not end of the world to get that changed if it is causing the issue. Good luck mate
  4. Cheers edgey. Confirmed LSD as it leaves 11's and my trans/axel code on the vin plate ends in B. £50 is a start at least but not quite enough Cheers Lee.
  5. Well it's still here for the moment - few bits of interest - no offers yet though. C'mon peeps - I can only say no
  6. I was hoping it would tease a few! I'm sure a torsen diff would suit many on here for xmas! I'm afraid I'm not sure on the specifics with regards to fitment. I'll quickly speak with dude unless someone else on here reads this - feel free to hijack and let us know! Cheers. Lee.
  7. These have both come off my 94 Auto GZ to make way for the 6 speed box and diff. Car has done approx 85k and had no issues with either when taken off. Both items are with John & Matt @ AFR and can be picked up from them, but please PM myself with offers/questions etc. Collection preferred but I can speak to AFR about delivery etc as they may know a decent courier that would handle these items - all at the expense of the buyer of course. J-spec TT Torsen Diff (Auto, type A smaller diff) - £200 ono provisionally sold - pending payment J-spec Auto gearbox - free to collect - provisionally gone Ideally these need to move quickly so will accept offers on the diff, but I'm happy for afr to box it up and put it in the back of my car rather than let it go for silly money! Regards. Lee.
  8. They returned to the rocket sled site in a recent myth 'evolution' to see if you could cut a car in two... IjZFWY2SLGI GUkXDA2dtfQ
  9. Panny 50" Viera Full 1080p PLASMA here. Fantastic TV and I would never go for anything else since. Owned Sony, samsung, LG etc and they are all good, but not quite as. I don't like the blacks on LCDs and the fact that even with the massive improvement in viewing angles you still only get the best picture if sat in the right place. With the video processing on the Panny sets, SD material also looks good. Trouble is when you buy a cheaper HD telly is that you usually sacrifice a good quality video processor. (not usually an issue if all you do is feed it a HDMI/DVI signal though) Don't forget, it doesn't matter how good the panel is, it's only as good as the picture you sent to it
  10. Came back for another look as I just realised that I hadn't checked the scales! Schoolboy error I did A level maths and physics too....
  11. I take it with the work the dreaded rattle is gone? Expect you are much happier with it now! A little side note though - Someone may correct me on this, but shouldn't all torque and bhp curves plotted on same graph cross at 5252rpm?
  12. Noooooooooo, not more in Nailsea! It's only a small place Shoo shoo! Off with yerr! Haven't spotted that one yet! More the merrier (but the more common) I suppose
  13. What dash panels are available? Got a manual gear surround panel? No worries if it's a little tatty too as I will be rubbing it down and spraying it
  14. You'll only need the front up I've got piece of mind because I did the work myself, and my work is perfect Hope you get it sorted
  15. Nah, axel stands! I did mine at the end of my driveway, had the car in the air and starter motor off in about 30 mins. Refurbed it in my kitchen and then put it back on. These usually only break because of worn contacts. Cost me something like £15 for refurb kit and a couple of hours at most of my time rather than the price of a new starter motor I was prepared for the job though and bought some tools that would make it easier before I started.
  16. 1) Yes, and mine always comes out lovely! 2) That sounds like the correct bolt to me! There is only 1 bolt on the tip and it's for holding in the muffler/silencer thingymebob!
  17. 21 mins to go... Mine arrived this morning too... thought I was a right lucky sod until I found I have to wait until midnight for the cdkey to validate Anyone who has the hardware should really get this on PC for the best experience. Although it seems I'm part of a minority here there's no way I'm playing this game in crappy 600p when I can play in 1080p! Thats nearly 4 times the resolution of the console version! Plus hopefully they won't have matchmaking on PC! Mouse and keyboard FTW!
  18. My copy came in the post this morning :search:Thanks Gameplay! Anyone else get it early or they just messed up for me? Payed £30 for mine though. can't believe that it's going for £20 somewhere. Makes you wonder what these companies get it for to be able to profit from that!
  19. Until about a week ago I thought it was going to be a warm Bonfire Night! The temperature suddenly dropped last week. But yeah I remember that it used to be much colder, and I remember wearing all those layers! I also remember that it actually snowed around christmas once upon a time... Oh, and I love bonfire night, it's got to be my favourite night, but I grew up a complete pryomaniac! We were lucky and grew up on farmland so had lots of room to roam. Many a time my parents would come back and I'd get a grilling for playing with fire!
  20. I've always paid about a £5 per tyre for fitting and balancing at my local tyre place. Regardless of if old tyres are fitted or not. Don't think I'm being ripped off there
  21. You mean shockwatches? Can get them with different g-force ratings. Manufacturer has website - not sure of who can supply them though http://www.shockwatch.co.uk/
  22. Had it on mine so when me and edge fitted the FMIC I replaced it with a slimline electric fan for completeness. Might have been a waste of 30 quid as I've yet to see it come on. My air con is no different than before
  23. If it were O2 sensors wouldn't this happen when the engine warms up? I thought the ECU ignores O2 sensors until the engine has warmed up? Someone else may be able to say for definite.
  24. Agreed Mr Fawkes I don't think the smoke would disappear that quick either! Funny (when no-one is badly hurt) when this happens to amateur chemists. Seen it many a time when I was doing my Chem degree. Think he would be better tryng something safer first. I made this in my garage. Hate to think of what would of happened if I tested my first one in my house! dzxxbpP4tHw
