  1. Sorry guys - lack of maintenance on my part - Diff and autobox gone
  2. Thanks for the heads up! I would have been kicking myself for missing such a good freebie!
  3. Wow scary stuff John! Would have been a real shame if it got stacked into the wall after all the work that has gone into it! When do you think you'll be ready for for another bash at it?
  4. Thanks for a good night again Steve, although I'm not sure about forcing guests to 'sing' Think that poor camera needs a wash! If a person had seen what it has seen they'd need some serious therapy!
  5. Could be the battery losing charge but also highly suspect the starter contacts are shot and need refurbing. Most Supras do it after 15 years/ 70-80k so it's a good bet it's that, expecially as you say that it was clicking (a single click, not multiple I assume?) then tried again and it started fine - this is exactly what mine did until it eventually got worse and I'd have to try starting it multiple times until it stopped clicking and started. Serach around on here for the part number for the starter refurb kit. I think it was around £15 and only took me 1hr 30mins to do (never done it before) with just jack, axle stands and a few 3/4 extension bars to get to the PITA bolts holding the starter on.
  6. Boost control solenoid is fine - brand new AEM one fitted this week all controlled by the AEM EMS Even if the solenoid is fully open it is not able to stop the wastegate opening, it's just not strong enough The wastegate opens early preventing quick spool and at 1.2 bar it is overwhelmed, opens and prevents it boosting any higher. Will check both Turbo Techniks and CR Turbos - many thanks for the suggestions!
  7. No one had to get one of these before? Been looking around the net and can find plenty of them for cossies so might have to measure mine and ask on their forums.
  8. Received mine! Many thanks!! Really looking forward to this now!
  9. Journey Planner here http://www.tfl.gov.uk/
  10. Was close to finishing my Single conversion but have hit another bump in the road to completion! Can't go above 1.2bar due to the actuator not being strong enough to keep the (internal) wastegate shut, even with the boost solenoid at full duty and the actuator fully adjusted it barely reaches 1.2bar and probably doesn't spool as quick as it could. Does anyone have any recomendations/past experiences with any company that can supply decent actuators? Would I be needing to find out exactly what turbo I have and find a matching actuator & bracket or is there someone I might supply measurements of my current actuator? Luckily it has a straight bar coming from it and not a bent one like some I have seen. Thanks in advance for any advice/experience you could offer!
  11. ^^ same here! I have got a few ready that I could submit though - Promised Mawbs and Tigger that I'd submit something this year as they always see me snapping away at events!

  16. I wouldn't have thought this would be worth it for insurance companies as just because you are only driving it for 6 months doesn't mean you will drive it half as much as a 12 month policy;) Limited mileage is a better idea as insurance prices are relative to risk and by agreeing to a mileage limit is a better method for limiting the risk. I also don't see how NCB would work with 6 month policies Best thing you could do is ring around, maybe try and add a lady driver (not sure this will work for a single turbo though) and limit your mileage on the policy if you haven't already.
  17. Looking forward to seeing how this turns out - admire how you've really gone to town with this, getting all the little bits to pretty much finish it all in one go. Just reading this thread so far is making me want to spend more on mine! I bet your savings have taken a beating!!?

    My new toyota

So you need a co-driver just to get to Tesco's now? I volunteer! Any change of colour planned when you get the bodyshop on it? What were the standard colours for this car? Beige, dark beige, light beige? Would be good to keep it as original as poss and if changing the engine, make sure you keep it in safe in the shed!
