  1. Meant to say, the 3-Series Coupe will comfortably take 4 adults too (not 5 as they have a central storage / arm rest thing running through the middle where a 5th might sit in other cars) and has decent boot room. Very well executed Coupe design and another thing I really appreciated on mine was the standard HID lights, really lit up the road very brightly which is great given half the roads round here are twisty backroads with no lighting. Only thing I didn't appreciate was the muppets at the local BMW garage not replacing all 4 Coil Packs at the same time when it developed a misfire, instead choosing to replace one at a time meaning it was in the garage on 3 seperate occassions for the same fault and was just needing the 4th as I gave it back at the end of my 2-yr lease Modern BMW's feel very well screwed together, solid cars but reliability wise I feel they've been cutting corners on parts and as such the likes of a modern Toyota is a better engineered, cheaper and more dependable private ownership propspect. Any car is fine from new whilst it's covered by manufacturer warranty as you don't have to shell out for the repair - just the hassle factor of getting it to the dealership, arranging courtesy cars (usually lead times of weeks I found with BMW) or alternative transport if something goes wrong. Interestingly I found BMW would never give me any record of warranty work carried out, like they liked to sweep it under the carpet and keep up the public perception they're very reliable cars. Cheers, Brian.
  2. 335i Coupe - had a 320i Coupe same as current model with m sport suspension option a few yrs ago when they were new out, was a lovely car to drive - always said I'd have another but with a big engine either 335i or 335d Coupe, though performance and economy of 320i Coupe is actually a decent blend for an everyday car - engine was actually behind the front axle line (effectively front mid-engined) and made for a light example being a 4-pot rather than 6 - found I could really hustle it along the local backroads. Good standard spec on them all too
  3. Agree with that approach - hence I was never too bothered about getting a power figure from mine. I'm pretty sure that dynapack / rototest figures for hub HP are pretty much spot on for a Dyno Dynamics or Dastek dyno flywheel HP numbers. Some of the readings getting converted into supposed flywheel numbers from dynapack / rototest hub readouts in recent times have been, IMO, fantasy land. To accept them would be to accept that blokes 530bhp (exagerating here as can't remember exact figure but you get the idea) or whatever it was reading on stock / hybrid turbos from a dynapack - which most people questioned at the time but now chasing dyno numbers has become the fashion again. Kenny's cars / times line-up might look like a work of fiction to most but I personally have seen the majority of those cars and many of the times ran at Crail over the years. All the best with USSC at Crail on Sunday Kenny - hope you get the job done for us Supra boys with the latest project, will likely head up with the wee man to watch / let air out of R35 tyres You could stick a project thread up with your Supra build details, it's been an epic journey and you have a tasty spec. Cheers, Brian.
  4. Sorry to read of your sister Mark Sounds like the perfect recipe for a 10 on stock twins if you use the jps shell with the th400 setup - would be awesome to see you go for the record and you could no doubt use the distraction Would spur me on to do an ultimate stockers drag build if someone beat my record Cheers, Brian.
  5. What's the deal with these then, are they badged a Lexus here? What engine is in it, 6-cyl petrol? Also are they 4WD?
  6. Right, thread closed and itrader mess cleaned up. Itrader is for trades that actually happen - abuse of the system in future will lead to infraction points and could result in a ban. Brian.
  7. The run was with MT D/R's - the 'normal' tyre looking ones as you can tell by the profile rather than the drag slick super high sidewall looking ones. Personally, I know spec wise how I would run a high 10 over here still with Jap ceramic Turbos. If my time gets beaten then I'll think about building a car with such spec These things do need a bit of a sanity check though as you're into diminishing performance returns per £ spent and could go faster for less with a single Turbo conversion.
  8. TRD diff, full bloaty weight including a bunch of that dynamat sound deadening material in the car
  9. ^^ This makes it easier to update the table....
  10. Power - ~ 400bhp flywheel ish. Never had a power figure on a dyno, did try a couple of times but the car always wanted to jump out the dyno as had no TRAC ECU. Interestingly my terminal speeds were higher on my 11.9 second runs on crapper surfaces (poorer 60fts) elsewhere at Elvington and at Crail at 121 and 122 MPH. I reckon terminal speeds are lower across the board at 'Pod vs. other venues for whatever reason. Turbos - stock JDM Ceramics at 1.1bar boost tops. Kinda opened a can of worms on the whole hybrids thing
  11. Hoping to infect you with proper 60fts
  12. Stock 17's with 275/35 DR's on
  13. ... and found my old SupraPod timeslip: For my record Stock turbos run - wondered where that went! Almost makes me want to do it again, but sticking to the plan of a fast road / trackday build next year
  14. It just gets better and better! Congrats again Stu, and Ryan!! My 18-month son goes nuts whenever he watches your car run by the way, waving his arms and clapping his hands - your youngest fan
  15. Seriously tempting and epic want but I had more next year in mind - have been telling myself for a while next year is new Supra build time. Just can't finance the asking price right now with a wedding and new house deposit to pay for Sadly, good luck with the sale Ryan!
  16. Awesome build Ryan - just caught up with this Nuts how it makes boost in neutral being revved! If you come to sell it...
  17. Sounds nasty! Get well soon Jurgen. Cheers, Brian.
  18. Congrats Stuart - awesome runs at Pod, knew you were on for that record run when from the grandstand I saw you hook up like a scalded cat! I think the best 60fts keeping the Toyota rear end are ~ 1.4 or 1.5 for the high powered Supras in the states Chris but that likely takes drag spec suspension and specific adjustable camber arms to set positive at the rear for a launch on neutral, as well as other bush related mods.
  19. Hello and welcome My old gunmetal TT lives in Bathgate with its new owner DekJZA80. Cheers, Brian.
  20. Have booked Premier Inn Billing for the sat night for now since it can be cancelled if I get a last minute room at the Ibis.
