  1. Forgot to say, welcome to the board Far
  2. I'd be very careful when checking this car out. £8k is very cheap. More than likely awarded R (Accident repaired) grade at the jap auctions for that to be profitable for the dealer selling it. Make sure you see the original Jap auction sheet, complete with Jap squiggles etc - the condition grade is clearly marked in the top right hand side of the sheet and will have a letter under it telling you the interior condition grade. I personally wouldn't import a Supra that didn't have a Grade 4 rating or above, and for the cheapest of these would be £10k OTR in the UK for a '93 Auto. All IMO.
  3. They are fitted to my Mother's 330Ci Sport BMW, on all 4 corners. I end up driving the car a lot and find them nice and grippy, very progressive but they squeal a hell of a lot! My bad tho for switching all the driver aids off They are also very long lasting for a performance tyre, seems to be a relatively hard compound. Their downfall is wet weather performance - not so good here.
  4. I thought you stuck to the same PSI recommended by the manufacturer regardless of what wheel / tyre combo you've fitted cos the PSI figure is really for the car and means Pounds per Square Inch - you would need the same pressure of air in your tyres. So if it's 36PSI for stock rears then it's 36PSI for 19's 20's etc etc etc. Or I could have confused myself and be talking utter crap....
  5. Something to do with an EGR system IE the 2nd entry?
  6. Where'd you get your car from in the end Matt?
  7. Nooo post it here I wanna find out
  8. My Mother dearest's BMW 330 Ci Sport runs on Dunlop SP9000 rubber (235/40/18 front and 255/35/18 rear) and I can confirm they are a decent tyre - seemed very grippy to me although they don't half squeal when you're on the edge Great in the wet also.
  9. Sounds like my idea is utter bollx then. Ignore
  10. Going on my limited experience of installing stereo head units, that to me looks like a battery backup power connector - required I presume to make the turbo timer remember it's settings when the ignition is switched off, much the same as a head unit needs this power feed (seperate from main power feed) to remember ure pre set radio stations etc. If I'm correct (not sure) then I'd suggest splicing into the same wire on your head unit connecting loom.
  11. I had this problem on an old car - turned out to be suspension bushes. Cured by spraying em with good 'ol WD40 :flame Dev
  12. Does everyone recommend such regular intervals?

    more power !!

I'd like the facelift model but I wanna avoid the VVTi system.

    more power !!

I SHOULD be able to find one, given that I see lists of around 30 Supra's for sale at jap auction per week. Just finding a NICE one that's the hard part - I'm a fussy man and ideally I'd like a low mileage Veilside C1 kitted already BPU'ed '95 TT 6-Sp but I'll settle for a std car if it's the right one

But, on the other hand does getting a facelift car perhaps mean you get the big brakes as standard? Or is the common consensus that it was optional on any year of import? Given that I want to go BPU pretty much as soon as I get the car, should I ideally be looking for a low mileage '95 TT 6-Speed as the best example of the marque?

    more power !!

Kinda hard when the cars I'm looking to buy will be in a jap auction hall and I'm in Scotland

Hmm probably a good idea to buy a '95 import then to be certain I don't end up with the VVTi crap I can live without the silver rear light surrounds.

Why do you say pre-1996 Darren? I didn't think the VVTi system was implemented 'til '98 or '99 was it? Personally, I've been looking for the perfect '96 import as it has the cosmetic facelift and is the newest you can go if you want to avoid the dreaded eSVA test.
  19. Sehr gut bis den viele Supra aus Deutschland? ^^^ Don't worry about your English, it's probably a lot better than my German!
  20. Shouldn't the garage be liable for the turbo(s) they fucked then? Have a nice holiday btw?
  21. You left your car with a garage in Leith
  22. Probably is wheel balancing - weight fallen off or something. If it was a disc then you'd get the shudder under braking.
  23. On Sept 11th last year I was sat in my Uni Bar (place called the cooler) in Liverpool with a couple of m8s. I was half drunk when I saw it on the telly screens in the place and thought I was imagining it and was drunker than I thought.
  24. Got it done at a place called Skidz in Falkirk, Scotland. Seems to be a good installation to me as it works in tandem with the standard Cat 2 keypad immobiliser (This is on my 306 I'm talking about) but I'm not an expert. I wanted it done that way to make sure it was unlikely that any little thieving bastard could nick my car in a hurry. Don't suppose you know anything about them Matt? They are VSIB accredited and I have a little certificate for my insurance.
