  1. They unbolt pretty easy to leave 4 holes usually on the front and the rear will leave a hole with exposed mounts the size of the plate with holder.
  2. That reminds me.... remember to fit colder plugs with an appropriate gap Jon.
  3. Nice choice of exhaust BTW, that was my all time favourite until I clapped eyes on the Veilside Ti.
  4. Another 0.2bar would be safe. Just keep an eye on it cos it could spike as far as 1.4+ bar with no restriction in the exhaust system. Could be a good excuse for a decent set of hybrids tho
  5. Jon don't tell me you've got a full decat with the stock exhaust - That'll be why only 0.9 bar - the standard exhaust is a restriction in itself. Get some Veilside Titanium loving goin on
  6. rofl The scousers must be very sophisticated now as I was doing about a ton (leptons) at the time
  7. Was coming to the end of my journey driving down to Liverpool last night and felt a little hot so reached for the temp dial on the air con, turned it down a couple of notches and thought nothing of it. Then I noticed that my time clock had gone out along with all the air con and associated lights on that side of the dash, with the air con system not functioning at all. Also noticed the flippy wing mirror switch isn't working either. Are these all on the same circuit and I've blown a fuse? If so, which fuse and where is it? TIA, Brian.
  8. Paul, pull the TRAC fuse and go for a good hard drive. Feels much faster
  9. Yer, can't you see the 'BPU' bit in his sig?
  10. Magsy, I think paulrenn was talking BS
  11. Yer I'll give em that Paul, but they do have a distinct advantage - drag radials (cheap) and cheap high octane fuel (much higher than ours) really makes it a wee bit unfair on us The fuel being better quality / octane is why they can get away with taking more risk and don't have to worry about fuelling so much.
  12. US car is most similar to the UK car, JDM car is different in a few ways. What it really comes down to is the yanks seem to take more risks (they can afford to, things are cheaper there) and are inherently spewing more BS.
  13. Get the car warmed up (important for later), turn it off, remove the EFI fuse for about a minute and then stick it back in, drive the car and give it some stick - the ECU will be forced to it's factory defaults and from there will 'learn' how best to use the fuel you are using.
  14. Should be a peak recall function on the controller I'd imagine. Depends if this has been cleared intentionally or accidentally though as to whether you can recall their highest boost run. One thing to remember is the Jap owner will more than likely have been running on 100 RON octane fuel and the best we have here is Shell Optimax at 98RON. Worth getting the fuelling checked when it arrives but other than that, turn the boost down if it's more than stock and do an ECU reset once you've filled up with a tank of Optimax.
  15. Terry - I'm pretty certain Adam still has the OEM SMIC on his.
  16. Unlucky Jonny! Looks expensive. As Adam says, think it's best to get it down to a specialist for what likely looks like a rebuild - either Leon or CW down south. Just don't take it to any garages in Leith! Adam, know if Marc from SS-R is any good with Supra's? Could be a good local option, I know he does a lot of work on Skyline's. He runs 'The Garage' in Wishaw.
  17. The common solution here seems to be fitting a restrictor ring in the exhaust system to stop the boost spiking. This allows the Wastegate to regain control of the situation. The other not so common solution is to port the wastegate. I'm guessing a turbo swap to UK tubbys would also solve the problem but these may need other supporting changes. ^^ Think I've put the above in order of expense.
  18. Adam Kindness on this board got a 13.7 second 1/4 mile time at Crail when his car was a standard auto, it's now just been rebuilt at JPS with a set of stage 3 hybrids which he'll be running at 1.4 bar shortly for Crail on the 27th of the month. Should see over 400BHP at least - be interesting to see his new times.
  19. Good stuff, ta Dunk. Didn't think to look in the door pillar of mine!
  20. yer that's the ones, ta m8!
  21. That the right sizes then Adam? You had the J-Spec 16" wheels before your Khans didn't you? I thought the Kumho's were better than the ones you've mentioned, in fact I believe they are rated as being 'almost as good without the price tag' when compared to Goodyear F1's / Bridgestone S02's / S03's?
  22. ^^ As above - I did a search and came up with 225/50/16 front and 245/50/16 rear? Is this correct? It's been suggested to me that the rears should be a 45 profile although the person I was speaking to wasn't certain. Just double checking! Reason I need them, car went for it's SVA test today and it failed on the bloody tyres! Turns out they are snowtyres (Dunlop Grassipic) according to the SVA tester and as such are a fail, only being rated to 99mph. So I'm going to put Kumho Supra Ecsta 712's on it as the consensus here seems to be they are the best 'cheap' option. Any other opinions? Cheers, Brian.
  23. Sell it and buy a TT *runs*
