  1. I like morning cinema - nice and quiet, chilled out kinda atmosphere rather than everyone packed in and rushing about with queues for everything
  2. VIP seats? I'm in for this and will bring along the mrs. Cheers, Brian.
  3. Nah high crime and more police is the tory way - only a matter of time 'til they start adding extra policing. At their core is to have classes in society - this helps with clear class distinctions. I'm in no way involved in politics BTW, just observations fuelled by ever increasing taxation and cost of living in my case.
  4. It's always politically fashionable to make such promises. The last government did the same and the Tory government before that. Nothing really changed - why? They need the vote of the benefit claimants so don't want to risk another party stealing a march on them by being seen as more benefit claimant friendly. Think of it as another incentive to work - you get your voice back and are allowed to vote.
  5. If you're fit to work and choose not to you are a drain on society and therefore have no rights. You will be told your rights by the government who will create policy for such things that will be both fair but harsh and this policy will be designed to get you working. You don't comply you don't get payouts. Now clean my car you lazy b%"£% !
  6. You know, I've mulled this topic over in my head many times (!!!) and I've worked out what I think is the root cause after considering all variables. The fact that these doley pikey scumbags get a vote - that's why our governments continue to pander to them and nothing much ever changes.... Therefore the solution is to take away the right to vote from benefit claimants. It's so simple it's beautiful. Then we can make sure that benefits are never a more attractive proposition to working and really cut benefits to a bare minimum. Why should we have to import a bunch of poles to do the menial low paid jobs that our benefits claimants are too lazy to do? They'd damned well hand clean my car if it meant it was their only route to putting food in the bellys of their 5 kids... And whilst we're on it, WTF should we ever consider the right of a Prisoner to vote??!? You commit a crime that gets you imprisoned then you have shown you don't care about society so why should society care about you or your vote. Anyone in for tDR's Britain?
  7. Looking good Stu - be good to see the kinda times you get this season What are you hoping for? Toyota modifying in general lol
  8. We don't need your Eton toff blue-blood goverment or German Monarchy... We can survive on North Sea Oil, Whisky and Tunnocks Tea Cakes alone thank you very much
  9. I do hope he doesn't become Scottish if he does pish.... Personally I think he has all the makings of an F1 Champion but needs the car to get the job done. This year he'll mostly be embarrassing his team mate and will no doubt collect the odd point along the way... then he'll likely get snapped up by a team with a faster car who are willing to pay him more. Possible moves should he prove himself - Mercedes given his past, likely in place of Schumacher or alternatively Red Bull in place of whingeing Webber. Merc will still be looking to snatch Vettel from RBR for a young all German uber lineup so possible alternative opening there.
  10. Congrats Alex - welcome to the team!
  11. Following my outstanding victory in 2009 I decided to take a break in 2010 but thought I'd grace you all with my participation again this year My lineup: A Vettel (RBR) B Schumacher (Merc) C Rosberg (Merc) D Buemi (TR) E Heidfeld (Renault) F Petrov (Renault) G Trulli (Lotus) Cheers, Brian.
  12. Play nice folks K20 you're about one insult away from a ban given you're only on here to troll. Have fixed your username for you, it seemed to be broken. Ta Ta XXX.
  13. Mine was pish in the snow 2x winters back - TRD LSD but I did also have a hi stall that didn't particularly help matters. Best advice is go for some snow tyres, a set of Bridgestone Blizzak's or similar would make the Supra drive just fine in the snow: http://www.bridgestone.com/products/passenger_tires/blizzak/index.html A Supra I imported had a set of those on, was from the snowy region of Japan. The speed rating on them was like 112mph so they failed the SVA test as being incorrect for the car - I just thought the JDM owner was on something and had fitted the wrong tyres, not realising they served a purpose. Had to replace them with a set of regular tyres.
  14. Guys, Viney means well - I've met him in person and know he's just into his modded cars and trying to get across the cars he'd like to see at an event he's arranging is always going to be 'sensitive' to some. I remember shitting all over some ITR's in my lightly modded S13 at KH. They just looked pedestrian and I was cornering substantially faster on a KYB AGX uprated shocks / springs combo. BPU mods otherwise and not a lot of boost as had some issues at the time (as typically you do with any SX lol!). I know in a stock Supra it'd be all too easy to make stock CTR's and ITR's look silly as a result, nevermind a BPU Supra as you'd most likely have because of the easy gains to be had. Agree on the braking at Knockhill - have melted brakes myself on the same S13 but they were rubbish standard items. Supra larger OEM should hold up well but only with a decent pad / fluid combo. Handling wise, lowering springs just cock up handling without stiffer dampers. Stock JDM suspension would work well, otherwise I'd say a set of HSD's is about as stiff as you'd want to go at KH. Anyways, no point doing the vs. thing - just some general observations from my own KH experience. Would be good to see this event being a success. Might be up Geo's street if his car's done by then? Cheers, Brian.
  15. Gotta say, seems a bit strange viney. A J-Spec with standard JDM suspension and the larger brakes would corner better and outbrake most of the stuff mentioned at a dry Knockhill IMO It's a track similar to a backroad so suspension compliance is a good thing there IMO and it's well documented that the OEM larger brakes give better stopping power than much of the aftermarket 'upgrade' stuff. Nice idea for a session though. All the Honda ricer stuff would be fodder for a Supra TT, other than the more serious Honda enthusiast driving an NSX or having adopted forced induction. Cheers, Brian.

    Map ECU System

Peter from MAP ECU above helped me loads to get my MAP2 up and running, including phonecalls that were late night for him - top support straight from the manufacturer. As said I think the issues experienced were background issues with the car that the ECU got unjustly blamed for. MAP 2 is an excellent VFM proposition IMO and my car at the top of the drag leaderboard kinda proves it works well. The ignition advance was well utilised to get the most from hi octane fuel and see unprecedented 122mph terminals on some of my runs - standard JDM turbos, cams and only 1.1 bar boost. With any of these things it's experience that counts.

    Map ECU System

That has also been said about other ECU's so I remain sceptical until I see the full low down on how it has been achieved and why the Syvecs is now different in this regard after all this time... how has the stupid high autobox line pressure issue been overcome and what about shift retard. It was claimed by many that AEM had conquered this challenge but then every auto here that went for it had very harsh shifts and ultimately broken autoboxes including expensive BL boxes...

    Map ECU System

I like the Map ECU2 as it represents VFM and reliability IMO. I'd use one again on an auto - I had good results and can confirm ignition advance works just fine. On a manual I would go for a Syvecs as I agree you'll ultimately see better results over using a 'signal fudger' piggyback with someone that knows how to map one properly. I believe other issues with Barneys car and an unfamiliarity have shown it unjustly in a bad light. I found it good to work with when mapping although will admit an EMU is ultimately (see what I did there!) more flexible for some of the reasons stated. That's not to say a MAP2 can't do a good job for your spec and I disagree that you don't need ignition adjustment for reasons previously documented on this forum from my own mapping experience listening for det on my TT. My 2p. Cheers, Brian.
  19. Check out my HSD fitting guide to see what you're up against. We went with disconnecting the droplink rather than messing about with arch liners and water bottles. Yeah they're tough but can be done without damaging them as per pics / method on my thread. Cheers, Brian.
