  1. Sounds like you are using the extra grip available,
  2. MOT could be a problem for me, although I still have the number plates.
  3. Cheers Gordy for your work thus far. Pls add me as a provisional, that will be; Hobgoblin and Brother, 2 drivers in towcar + trailered MR2 + wives in another car (not driving on circuit), or possibly flying (does anyone have any idea about budget flight options?)
  4. Yes I remember seeing that parking area, just the far side of that little roundabout iirc. Cheers
  5. I will certainly be looking at doing this in the MisterTwo. My brother (co-owner) and I have been sort of planning this for a while. Only thing is, do you need tax, insurance etc, as the track is effectively a public (toll) road. My MR2 is a track only car, and can not be MOTd
  6. I have one as a track car, great fun, but a pig to work on. Generally reliable, and good fun.
  7. It is "very powerful, NOT for the faint hearted", does it for me! Also IMO a rotten colour.
  8. Silly badging aside, for 2k might make a good project.
  9. Hi all. Just spotted this for sale; http://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-motorbikes/white-toyota-supra/1071632080#photo-content
  10. Good call. Far better to buy a car from this club, Wipeouts car has clearly been looked after properly, I would have a look myself, if I thought I could get it past the wife!
  11. Welcome along. I was in BC many years ago, a lovely part of the world, I stayed with a mate in Penticton, and visited all those old "ghost" mining towns. Enjoy the Supra
  12. Have a look at http://www.moris.co.uk they specialise in trackday insurance, I did my RX8 for a specified day, a few years ago now, the premiums are based on the stated value of the car, I paid iirc about £100 for my 9k car.

    RX8 owner here

Lovely looking RX8 there, I have owned 2, but never even seen one that colour.
  14. I had them on my RX8 with no problems, including a good test of 2 (dry) laps of the Nurburgring.
  15. Welcome to the club, and what a stunner you have there!
  16. I owned a Mk3 Aerotop about 12 years ago, I reckon it could be appreciating in value by now.
  17. Yes you defo need a gunmetal grey, or white TT. Good to see a local newby.

    Nankang NS2's

I think all of the bigger sizes are now NS2

    Nankang NS2's

Nankangs are generally reckoned to be pretty good, as a budget option.
  20. Looking at this as my new daily, but the guy mentions needing easy-start to get it going. Anyone had any experience of similar - simple fix, or expensive problem? Cheers http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2003-BMW-330D-TOURING-AC-SCHNITZER-QUICK-SALE-BARGAIN-/161038524290?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item257ea4df82
  21. You may find that some tyre dealers / repairers will not repair a tyre, when the hole is close to the edge of the tread. This is basically because the (mushroom shaped) plug they use to repair it will not sit level inside the tyre, so could therefore fail. Other than that, if your puncture is nowhere near the edge, it is a very simple, and safe repair job. - - - Updated - - - Beat me to it!
  22. Hi all. I have a Mazda 6 (2006) diesel estate as my daily, it will also be used to trailer around my Mister2 trackday car. The suspension is, I suspect, original, (126k) and a bit nautical, so am concerned it will not be up to its maximum load capability, (have not tried with a trailer yet). Bit of a shot in the dark, but has anyone here any knowledge of upgrading the suspension, obviously I have no need to lower it, just strengthen it? Cheers
  23. I bought a Soarer with Kumhos on it (can`t remember the full name), but they were simply lethal, I very quickly removed them, and replaced them with Toyo T1Rs. As for the Nankang, they are generally rated in the trade as one of the better quality "budgets".
