  1. "Yeah, having done a few UK track days in a very competitive car, I did "the ring" in a slooooow car and it was terrifying." Bet it wasn`t as slow as mine, I used a Mazda 323, all of about 90hp.
  2. Hope it works out for you, but let me know if the deal falls through, I am considering an S2k as a kitcar engine / box donor.
  3. Just about to book Castle Combe 24th April.
  4. Can you give me a price for 4 and for 8 pls, including carriage to HR5 3DZ I also assume you can supply a VAT invoice with them? Cheers
  5. Quite unusual for a tyre to let go, when it is not even under load. It could be that it was damaged before being put away as a spare. That said, that tyre does look like a long discontinued pattern, so probably very old. The DOT code is 4 digits, eg 2014, 20th week 2014. Pre 2000 tyres have, iirc, 3 digit DOT codes.
  6. Haha, I must say I have mixed feelings about driving it. Nontheless it is fun, I am quite tempted to take it out for a trackday or two.
  7. Contracts can be changed / ended. I reckon Perez
  8. I have booked Oulton Park for 25th November, in the Kitcar Plan to get the suspension sorted by then, as it is currently lethal. Hope to see you there.
  9. Yes car is at my brothers place, Craven Arms SY79PP
  10. Hi all. Here is my MX5 bought as a stand in trackday car but never used, as the Kitcar was finished in time; http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mazda-MX5-Mk2-1-8-UK-Car-Bargain-/191997773919?hash=item2cb3f5885f:g:OkAAAOSw-CpYA3KS
  11. I think I was lucky this week. My car pops and bangs like hell on downshifts, and could well attract the attention of the noise police.
  12. Have also booked another day there, 25th November; http://www.javelintrackdays.co.uk/trackday/index.php?option=com_wrapper&view=wrapper&Itemid=1411
  13. I thought they were pretty laid back ref noise testing. They could not do a static test on my car, I couldn`t hold it at the required 5000rpm, as I have just changed from single to twin coil setup, and the tacho does not work. The guy just gave me a sticker anyway. Anyway had a good day in the newly built kitcar, hope you enjoyed it, Greg.
  14. +1 for the RX8. Ragging it around a track will not harm the engine, I assume it has good compression now (no hot start issues). I have owned 2 of these, both full fat 231s, great fun, including the inevitable few laps of the Nurburgring.
  15. If you are considering a purchase of another car, to avoid using the one you have, then our MX5 will be for sale, immediately after October 04th. I can`t recommend it one way or the other, but will be able to after this date, (we only bought it as the day was booked, and our Kitcar will not be finished by then) as I am using it for the first time at Oulton Park. It will be ready to go with Yellowstuff pads, new brake fluid, and sticky tyres.
  16. Excellent. There are 5 MX5s booked now, and possibly 6 if I use mine. See you there.
  17. Hi All I have a tedious little problem with the S2000; Since I have owned it, the oe CD player tends to jump, and fails to read discs, which are known to be good. It does not display an error code. Is there likely to be a simple generic problem here, dirt or dust on the reader? Cheers
  18. Have you measured the noise output of the Supra, 105DBA is pretty loud
  19. Will look out for you. My kitcar is due back from the rolling road a few days before this, so you may well see us in a gold colour MX5, which I bought incase of a delay with the kitcar.
  20. Been a while since I owned one, although seeing yours makes me think.......!
