  1. Doing a fluid service this weekend, got all the info I need except the torque figure for the diff drain plug. Searched but couldn't find it. What's the figure?
  2. Yep, same conclusion reached by me. The bike's only being used on the track these days. More fun, much faster, yet feels so much safer. Save on insurance, tax, plod points...and only do about 1500 mile a year.
  3. Interesting problem last night. I left the car parked on the drive with the radio on whilst messing about in the front garden. I got distracted by my better half, which of course meant that when I got back to the car later the battrey was flat. No problem, got the battery charger out and charged it up. Drove the car into the garage, turned the ignition off, but the engine kept running.... The turbo timer's set to 0 (don't bother with it for work and back as there's plenty of time for cool down either end of the commute) but the engine's still running. I ended up disconnecting the battery negative terminal to cut the engine. Not a major issue, just strange:search: .
  4. According to one of the French lads here at work, Zidane was called a terrorist. Given that he does a lot to get racism out of the game, that insult tipped him over the edge. That head butt makes Rooney's 'stamp' look like a gentle stroke!!!
  5. Sorry mate, can't help you. I took the single part test in 1980...... Only advice is stay on a small bike to gain experience. It's cheaper when you fall off and can be less painful. A guy at work (26 year old I think) just pased his test and went straight for an R1, a few days later he did a track day at Snetterton and fell of in the scond session. He's ok though and a lot wiser now.....
  6. Every time the fuel gauge goes below 1/4 of a tank.... Only had one scary incident down to using too much speed / power in the Soop. No doubt there will be a few more once I take it to the track. I could wright a book about all the scary moments on the bike though!
  7. If there's none up for grabs (cash waiting....), can someone post a picture with some dimensions so I can make something up out of Alu. Ta.
  8. Hi, has anyone got a spare cold air intake duct. I'm after the one that routes air from in front of the fan cowl to the air box, not the one under the headlight. Ta.
  9. Is it worth having a forum for track days, just so everyone know's who's doing what, where etc? I'm sure a lot more people would have a go if they could meet up with people they 'know' off here. If not, I'll get me coat........

  11. I fancy somehwere with plenty of room like Silverstone GP. I can imagine somewhere like Cadwell in a Supra must feel a bit tight. As for the 'Ring, I took the bike over there last August. I promised my lad I'd go back with the Supra and take him with me.
  12. I take it most people on here don't 'track' their cars? Bit of a contrast to the bike site I'm a member of where it's rare to talk to somone who doesn't use his / her bike on track. In fact, theirs a separate forum just for track days.
  13. Love to, but I've used all my track day 'points' until August on bike days. I.E. Cadwell on Saturday, Snetterton on 22nd!! Have you got any other days booked for later in the year?
  14. I've got 235/40 18 on the front and 285/35 18 on the rear. I was a bit concerned about the change to rolling radius so I checked the speedo error using a Tom Tom sat nav. At 80mph on the car speedo I'm actually doing 81 according to GPS. Checked on a track, not on the road of course.
  15. I just feel more comfortable with OEM levels of filtration.
  16. Thanks all for the views. I reckon it's something I'll tackle later in the year when my wallet's healed a bit.
  17. That was quick!! How much extra power do you make?
  18. Currently running a TT auto with 350BHP (flywheel). It's got a Kakimoto cat back pipe on it (sounds lovely) and an HKS intake system (soon to be replaced). I believe it's still got the first cat in place as the boost is maxing out at ~0.9 bar, it passed the last MOT no prob's and the downpipe looks like it's been on there forever. Is it worth the BPU mod? More questions to follow if the answer's yes......
  19. Why do the turbo's over boost when the cats are removed? Is the wastegate not adequate to control the boost, requiring exhasut back pressure to assist with the job?? Sorry if this is a dumb question.
