  1. Thanks for the advice. I know people look to the 'safe' method of using the car manufacturers recommendations, but Toyota didn't make the tansmission, Asin Warner (far eastern branch of Borg Warner?) did. Toyota don't make oil either afaik, so whose oil is in the Toyota bottle...... Isn't it just Toyota's marketing team not missing a trick, like all the other car makers? just food for thought, no answers required.
  2. Anybody know where I can get the correct Toyota ATF from in Norfolk or the midlands. Local dealers don't have it, they've offered Dexron 3. This looks a good bet if Toyota have run out of T4[GRIN][/GRIN] http://www.mobiloil.com/USA-English/MotorOil/Other_Products/Mobil_ATF_3309.aspx I've searched the site, there's plenty of advice on using the stuff but I can't find any advice on where to get it!!
  3. Hi, can you give an idea of the ground clearance (compared to standard clearance) for the different bumpers? We've got agressive speed bumps arond here, so I need to know. I know it's down to ride height, but I don't want to by a bumper, then find I need to jack the car up so it looks like a monster truck!![GRIN][/GRIN] Cheers.
  4. The Mafia thing was a poor attempt at humour. Apolgoies to any Italian readers, before I get called a racist LOL. It makes me wonder though. Aren't the controlled tyres for the series Pirellis as well? Another Italian twist.........
  5. Nice Rizla rep. I can't belive you're switching to a v twin mate. I've only seen 3 bikes have engine trouble on the track and they were all Ducatis. The only bike I managed to pass at Spa last year was a Ducati (my first time there). You'll be back on a Gixer I reckon in quick time.[GRIN][/GRIN] You'll know this, but others may not. If it wasn't for the Mafia imposed restrictors on the Japanese 1000cc bikes, the v twins would be nowhere in BSB or WSB. Do they have more torque though? Oh no, here we go again...... :d
  6. Mate, it's your car. If you like it then ignore everyone else. I question the wisdom of asking Americans to judge matters of taste though? I don't want to bash Americans. I have friends and family in America, but since when did litre become liter?
  7. Anyone from here going to this? http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default.asp?storyId=14666
  8. 26mpg out of a TT during a 400 mile run (75-85mph), 22mpg comuting. If the going's good I'd expect low teens mpg. 57mpg from my Pug 405 na weasel for when the Supra and the wallet are both on empty. 20mpg from the bike whilst on the track.
  9. Anyone else fancy this? I might take the Soop and the bike for a blast. Perfect for comparison. 10. I use 10w40 semi synthetic. 5 litres for 18 quid from the local Toyota dealer.
  11. You'll be ok mixing for a top up, but try to avoid mixing synthetic and mineral oil. I take it the Valvoline currently in the engine is synthetic? Edit - You'll be ok with 5w40 (as long as the type ie mineral or synthetic is the same). Was it your oil pressure warning light or oil level warning light which came on? if it's just the level, then no prob's. If it's the pressure warning light it could be something more serious. Hope not though!
  12. When you say a bit of oil left, I take it you mean you're on min on the dip stick?
  13. Goes very well apparently. Not sure how many people will buy a sports car that doesn't sound like a sports car? Also with no exhaust / intake / engine noise all the squeks and rattles will stand out a mile.
  14. Can you post pics of the tow bar an fixing points? I'm think of fitting making something up for towing the bike trailer in case the 405 catches something terminal.
  15. I've got them on the back of mine. They seem ok, but I've only had the car a couple of months and changed almost imediately from AvonZZ3s, so can't really offer a comparison. 285/35 18s. Edit: Sounds like a good price to me.
  16. The Supra which VTG tested probably had a VW Golf stuck in it's air filter at the time.[GRIN][/GRIN]
  17. On my son's PS2. [GRIN][/GRIN] Then saw one in Norwich. Had to have one!
  18. Supra for me, every time. Seen loads of 911's, never been impressed with the 'VW' looks. The Supra is the only car that's ever come close to making me feel the same way as I do about bikes. No car has ever made me want to go and buy it until I met the Supra..
  19. 1/ Nuke 'em. 2/ Or you could film them, then get the law round, but get a lot of evidence first. If you struggle getting the law interested, just go past a police car at over 100 and they'll follow you home, lights and everything.[GRIN][/GRIN] 2's probably the best option.
  20. SUPRASUZUKI

    Petrol

Wish I'd seen this earlier. Filled up today with Tescos 99 as the wife had just been shopping and got a "5p per litre off" voucher. So 55 litres at 93.9 ppl. Not bad!
  21. Sorry to hear this mate. We've all done it (well most of us anyway), good luck to you but I fear the worst.
  22. I expect to see doughnuts on the menu at work on Monday mate.[GRIN][/GRIN]
  23. Decided to get one from Toyota. £22, sorted.
  24. Thanks forthe info Simon. I know what you and the other guys mean, but using a torque wrench too often can't be a bad thing, can it?
  25. Thanks, I could have "guessed" that. I just thought in the technical section there would be a technical answer.
