    Got him!

Lovely looking dog mate. Keep him away from your fags though. /vbb/images/smilies/bbcode_grin.gif /vbb/images/smilies/bbcode_grin.gif (only joking, I love dogs). I've got two labradors. Soppy as sh1t.
  2. I agree, there's nothing quite like 'booting it', but 40 mpg when not booting it (trundling to work and packed dc's and motorways) would be really useful (for me[GRIN][/GRIN]). It does sound a bit sad though, I'll admit!! Like you said, each to his own.
  3. LPG's about 47p per litre. You do loose a little power and you do loose some mpg, but the the net effect is a big saving as teh fuels half price. I borrowed a mates LPG Jag to go to Brum. It cost about £40 on LPG. The Supra costs about £80 for the same journey, same speeds (virtually legal).
  4. Not sure about turbo'd LPG cars, that's one of the reasons I'd like to talk to an 'expert'. They've put LPG on turbo Saabs and Volvos though. Maybe safer to use LPG when off boost, then automatically switch to petrol when the boost gets up. Maybe?? Not sure about spark plug compatibility etc.
  5. If you've got the choice of high performance or (relative) economy from the same car, that's as close to having your cake and eating it as you can get. I've got a 405 that does high 50's mpg as my runaround, but the Supra is much more enjoyable to drive (at any speed), but £200 per month in fuel hurts. Now, if that bill drops by close to half, I might be inclined to use the Supra more often and ditch the 405. If your finances let you use the Supra all the time, or you don't do many miles, that's great. I'm still pondering.
  6. I agree, 1700 does seem steep. I thought I might pick their brains, then buy and install the kit myself. Still undecided.
  7. I was quoted £1700 by a place in Birmingham a few weeks back. I might pop in and have a chat to them niext time I'm over there.
  8. Personally I'd stick with the stock item. These are 'tuned' to help the crank train deal with torsional vibration. Fitting a none standard one could have bad effects. I say could because I'm not aware of any actual test results for aftermarket items. But if Toyota engineered the original, through there design and development programme, it's good enough for me. Just my opinion though.
  9. Where abouts are you mate? I'm interested in the springs and dampers.
  10. Thanks, that's what I thought. On the question of bike oils, it sounds logical that a bike oil (even with additives for gearbox/clutch protection(?)) which serves the engine to 13,000rpm should be safe in a car engine to 6,500rpm. I'm not intending to use it, just exploring the principles that's all.
  11. The shared oil principle sounds fair for bike oil. Do you really need fully synthetic for the Supra for normal road driving? I know there's lots of info on here to that effect, but I wonder whether there's any conclusive evidence that it's needed.
  12. I've got hold of 25 litres of Silkolene 10w/40 semim synthetic oil for a very reasonable price. I bought it for the bike, but just out of interest, what is the difference between 10/40 oil for motorcycles and 10/40 for cars?? Anyone? oilman??

    flight 93

Sounds like it's worth a look. I still haven't made my mind up which version I believe and I doubt we'll ever know what really happened.

    flight 93

Which story is it, the one where the pasengers take over or the one where the USAF shoots it down.......?
  15. I'd have taken you for a blast, but it's past my bed time.[GRIN][/GRIN]

    Bikes

F*ck me, I only went away for a couple of days!! I come back to find it's cars v bikes again! I currently feel 'beaten up' by both sides for having a power ranger suit and a spoiler (I don't use them both at the same time...). Oh, and I got a told by my better half that both my favorite vehicles are impractical, as neither will take us both and the two kids.
  17. [/GRIN]2nd dibbs on the 1st if the first dibber falls through [GRIN] /vbb/images/smilies/bbcode_grin.gif /vbb/images/smilies/bbcode_grin.gif
  18. Can I hav 2nd dibbs please, if Bob changes his mind? [GRIN][/GRIN] Assuming it's a j spec.
  19. I agree. I wouldn't use 4 stands at once, as I have nightmares about being underneath when someone else nudges it off the stands by accident.
  20. Thank f**k for that, I thought somebody had switched gravity off..... :d
  21. I was thinking the same, but after seeing the stuff that came out of the pas system, I dread to think what the gearbox fluid is like. I assume the gearbox fluid has a far harder life??
