  1. I've bought stuff of guys (and gals) on here without seeing photos and not had any problem so far. Maybe I'll change after reading this.
  2. The whole programme is bollox in my opinion. The sooner they stop making the shite the better. Who the f*ck picked Jade goody to promote a product like perfume anyway!! F*ckin' halfwits. Rant over.
  3. Just confusion over the description I reckon. OEM = stock = standard = toyota (ie as as it left the factory, ie the Original Equipment Manufacturer). You could just defuse the situation by paying the guy his money back?
  4. Rob, any chance you could get them measured for end float and radial play?
  5. Hi, is it a known brand kit? Where in the UK are you?
  6. Fair enough mate. Glad it didn't wreck your car anway.
  7. Here we go again!! Pass the tin hat and the popcorn........
  8. Jake, just out of interest who did the installation, and are they aware of the cause of the fire. Not for a witch hunt, just so they take this into account next time.
  9. That scary. You're spending about the same as me, but I'm paying for food for 2 adults, 2 teenagers, 2 dogs and a cat (not that the cat costs much to feed:) )
  10. I'm decatting so I need to know what boost I get with the restrictor ring fitted. Sounds like elec's the way to go if space is limited behind the facia. Thanks.
  11. Thanks folks. I plan on replacing it with a mechanical gauge with a graduated scale.
  12. No picture, sorry. The facelift has a boost gauge as standard, just not sure whether it's elec or mech.
  13. Is this a mechanical or electrical gauge? Anybody know? Cheers.
  14. As per previous posts, it will fail if no water gets on the screen but agree with Abs if enough water gets spread from the 'good' jet. One of the vans at work failed on just this (neither jet worked) Friday pm. Use a fine needle. I've used a garage air line to blow back through the washer jet to help dislodge crap on previous cars. Not sure how successful this would be on the Supra though.
  15. To be honest I always intended to give him the money, just thought I'd canvas opinions and ideas (honest Geoff:) ). The 50 scratch card suggestion got my attention though, as it's different. I might wait until he really needs the money, then come up trumps. He's 15 by the way. He's also 6'2 and 13.5 stone and can shrug and mope for England.
  16. My lad bought a jacket of egay in December through my account. He paid me cash, I paid for the jacket via paypal. The jacket never arrived and me, being the responsible parent (read: unreasonable barsterd) told him it was a valuable lesson in life not to trust everyone. He shrugged his shoulders (teenager fahion) and told me he wasn't bovvered. I opened a dispute with paypal (after numerous emails to the seller) which has just been concluded in my favour. Consequently, I'm now £50 up. Do I:- A) Keep the money to make up for all the times my lad borrows a fiver and use it to pay his share of the telephone bill? B) Refund him, as it's not my money but his?
  17. Agreed. Mine's a '96 and was imported in 2003. Unless it's totally illegal with false doc's.
  18. Ewen, where can I order one? I'd like one as a tender for my main yatch......
  19. Exactly! The operator's clearly a jobsworth.
  20. Homer, have you got more info (data, test results etc) on this? Anybody else got data or experience? Ie how much worse in quantifiable terms?
  21. It's a cam follower shaped like a bucket (the large one in the photo). Some engines use hydraulics to take take up adjustment (utilising engine oil pressure) like the one with the pillar in the centre, some need shims either on or under the 'bucket' to maintain the correct 'valve' clearance.
  22. I can see where you're coming from, but would you take the same view if your supplier said 'sorry mate, I've cancelled your order 'cause I can get more for them off Mr X'? If your goods are on credit (ie you haven't paid up front) he's got every legal right to do so. I suspect you'd be livid. I know I would be. Of course, if you pay on order that's different. Not trying to get up your nose, just discussing:)
  23. I guess we can agree to disagree on this. A deal to me is struck on the basis of an agreement to purchase and sell like with ebay). Face to face this would be agreed with a handshake (like when you buy a car). The deal is concluded when money and parts actually change hands. Also, breaking a 'gentlemans agreement' shows a very poor business ethic and downright bad manners. I personally would not deal with someone who displays this trait.
  24. What about agreeing to sell a part to someone then selling that part to someone else because they offer more? No deal was completed, but negative feedback would be justified I reckon.
