The thermo can be integral to the sandwich plate or within it's own housing fitted along the pipe runs to/from the cooler.

I drilled a sump bolt to take the temp sensor, but there didn't seem to be much metal left due to the sensor diameter being pretty big. Most are cast, with thread detail etc machined afterwards. I don't see any reason why you couldn't machine from solid.

I bought a sensor housing to fit in the top hose off these people. Quick delivery, good part, no prob's. Still undecided on the sanwich plate for the oil sensors though.

If you just want a sandwich plate for fitting gauge sensors to try ebay, there are plenty listed on there. I haven't tried any so can't vouch for the quality though. Google sandwich plate or oil cooler, there are plenty of suppliers around.

I use a battery conditioner. Type accumate or optimate into google. Your battery will continue to go flat if you don't drive the car regularly and you've got equipment which is constantly live. Llike the analogue clock in the facelift (IIRC) and alarm.

Thanks Chris, I'll get in touch with them as they're only 40 mins from me. I wonder if their parts are 3/4 all the way through, or if they just fit 3/4 pipe unions on a 'standard' casting. If this is the case the system would still be restricted through the body of the take-off plate. I imagine this would negate the benefit of 3/4 bore pipes etc?

Chris, any idea who makes a sandwich plate (with a thermostat) with 3/4 fittings? The biggest I can find are 5/8.

I played a golf match in Warwickshire last Saturday (27th Jan) in a t shirt!! Sarted out with a windproof jacket over the top but got too warm after a couple of holes.

Don't forget the French refer to us as 'roast beef' and a lot of yanks refer to us as 'limeys' (sp?). It's never been classed as racist. Let's be honest, I'd say more countries have a disliking of the English than any other nation (America might catch up soon). Even our closest neighbours the Welsh, Scots and Irish contain many people who hate us. It's like the Milwall song 'no-one likes us, we don't care'. As for telling someone who doesn't live her to f*ck off home, that's not racist. It may rude, abusive and wholey inapropriate, but it's not racist.

So, on a BPU car would this mod increase power without any other mod's (fancy ECU's etc), or does it just help protect the engine from detonation at it's current boost level? How do you go about selecting the correct jet size, location and pressure for the system? I take it this needs assessment on a dyno? Sounds almost like a free lunch!! What's the down side, other than having too much water at the wrong time and killing the engine? -
Agreed, old pug n/a Diesels go forever and cost f*ck-all to run. I took a 405 off a neighbour for nothing as he was going to scrap it!! Two new tyres and a new headlight bulb got it through MOT. That was 2 years ago and it's still going (touches wood). Slow as f*ck though. Careful on the SVO. Gordon Brown will be on your case for fuel duty.

Similarly, I imagine if I went to Australia and an Assie said 'fuck off home you Pommie' I doubt I'd shout 'racist'. That doesn't make it acceptable though, does it??

So "White trash is an American ethnic slur with a social class component. The term is usually considered interchangeable with trailer trash. It is comparable to "honky" in that it is targeted toward white people. Singling someone out on an ethnic basis? Targeted towards people of a certain skin colour? Honky is a racist term used by black Americans!!! Sounds about as racist as you could get to me!!
