Small update. Because the weather has been so rubbish I've only just had the shell collected from the dippers and taken to the bodyshop. Resotred to getting a car cover and a roll of pallet wrap. Fortunately the rain held off on the trip back - bonus! Car is now with Kane at the bodyshop ready for some progress. Massive thanks to Dan the recovery driver and Kane for going up and getting the car. Kane will hopefully get a chance to properly look over the car in the next few days, advise on what work needs to be done etc. I know we've already had a few photos of the car since the dip, but here are a few more.

Parts posts aren't boring. Always interesting to see what parts you can still get.
-
Thanks for the info Keron. This is good news. Even at the stupid heritage inflated prices its better to be able to get this than not.
-
Is it true that Keron can get rear screen glass, either OEM or aftermarket? When I had the rear screen removed on my car I was also given the warning about breaking it. I think they have to say this in order to cover the rare occasion where it does break being removed.

A resale value couldn't be further from my mind, so that isn't a factor in my dilemma. I think it a sad old world to own things like this only to keep them in a condition, likely against your hearts desire, to make a few quid. Instead I want the look of the car to be original, but with uprated suspension, brakes, turbo etc. I just can't decide if that element of modification extends to the colour. If I do change it, it will probably only be to a darker gunmetal / metallic grey - but never say never!
-
Fingers crossed for you Rob.

Honestly, I'm like the wind on this. Today my mind is saying I will stick with the stock colour. I think the quality of the finish, even with the stock colour, will be so good as to make it pop and stand out.
-
I've asked on the WhatsApp group to see if anyone has one. Have you tried the usual people?
-
Sorry Rob I don't have one of these spare. Is yours damaged or missing?
-
I bet that is a massive relief? Finding bits like this now is a nightmare.

I thought is was Monkey Shit Brown (MSB). This is a really nice colour.
-
What colour is that? - apologies if I'm being lazy and you've already said in the thread, but I'm still asking

Hi Darren, Not actually got the shell back yet. Still with SPL waiting on some better weather to transport. I may have to bite thr bullet at some point and pay for a covered wagon / trailer as the forecast is rubbish for the next few weeks. There definately is some bodywork to do, which I knew about before the dip. From the pictures I'm not seeing anything we weren't expecting, but I won't know for certain until its with Kane and he reports back. I bought new front wings from Toyota as mine were rolled (badly!), but I still had the old ones dipped and eCoated as it was all part of the price.

Love that quick jack setup. What wheels have you got on the car Jamie?

Anyone on here? I was in my GR Supra. Was around 06:30 hours on the A3 through Guildford. Was a silver UK Spec.

Got a call today to say the car has been dipped and e-coated. I don't yet have any images of the finished article but SPL did send me a few images and a video from part of the process. IMG_7162_1.mp4 All I've now got to do is get it picked up!
-
Is that a new carpet Darren?
-
Russ, I should have a spare bulb as I bought a complete replacement set of bulbs for the whole dash a few years back from Toyota. I'll have a look today for you and let you know.

Yes, I think you are right. The trade off is top end speed. But a manual large case diff will always be more desirable and IMO worth more.
-
A year or so ago people were asking about £1.5k to £2K for a large case diff. If it were a manual diff it may well sell for more. You may get more interest in this diff if the cooler is complete and working? Difficult to say definitively as few are for sale and even less tell you how much they actually got for it.
-
Not worth anything these days, just scrap value. I'll give you £50 for it Is it a manual or auto, mileage and does it have any known damage?
-
Hi Alison, Do you have any details as to what the specification of the car is? For example it's age, original sale market (UK, Japan), its mileage, Is it a twin turbo, normally aspirated or modified? Also is it a manual or auto? If you can post some pictures of the car, including exterior, interior, underside and engine bay I suspect a good number of people on here can give you a guide as to value based on specification and condition.
