  1. I've just thrown another £3K at Toyota for parts. New facelift rear lights. New facelift front indicators. New facelift side markers. New lower bumper trim. New bumper to bonnet seal. New rear engine bay seal. New front windscreen seal. New rear windscreen seal. New wiper arm (have 2 already). New badges all round. New full door rubbers. New door and roof trim. New Qtr windows. New hockey sticks, front and rear including the bits under the body. Finally a host of nuts and bolts etc.. With my recently purchased other items, once the car is resprayed it will be super clean and fresh. Can't wait for them all to arrive.
  2. I was starting to think I was the only person who had ever read them for a moment. I have to say the pace of the books changes drastically in the last 3. It's refreshing but also slightly sad as I know I will shortly finish them. What am I meant to read then!!?
  3. Not one person has read this series of books? If you like Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones this will be up your street.
  4. There are actually 15 books if you include the prequel New Spring.
  5. I'm currently on book 12 of this epic series of books. I'm loving it, although at times it has been a bit of a slog to get through never ending over descriptive scenes. I started reading the books back in 1992 but Jordan took so long between books after book 9 I decided to give up and wait for him to finish them before I would try again. Unfortunately in 2007 he promptly died, not having finished the epic. The last book he wrote on his own was book 11. The last three books have been finished by Brandon Sanderson. He divided the material for A Memory of Light into three volumes. Just wondered if there were any other fans out there?
  6. I think the part from the EPC is just a felt type adhesive pad. More to stop paint damage, but clearly assists in preventing water penetration.
  7. Yes auto headlight. If I recall there is an on and off switch on the unit I think it is as basic as that.
  8. Two thoughts. 1. Someone in the past has stuffed some sponge material in a vent for an unspecified reason If it were the drivers side I would have suggested it was to fit a gauge. 2. The heater unit that houses the matrix has a series of flaps to control the direction of the airflow. The main flaps have large foam pads glued to the flap surface to ensure an airtight seal when closed. It could well be off one of these.

    E85 fuel?

I've been thinking about this for my car recently. I like the idea of the fuel flex sensor linked to the Syvecs. So if I uprated the fuel pipes from tank to the rail, checked to make sure my aftermarket injectors are rated for this type of fuel, bought and installed a fuel flex sensor, uprated to a compatible fuel pump and got the car mapped, basically I could run varying levels of this fuel type? What fuel flex sensor are people using?
  10. Love the results thus far. Couldn't have taken the car to a better place for the work. I like the fact that you are trying to maintain the original spec of the car where you can. To alter it radically would be to detract completely from what it is.
  11. If they ask if its been modified then yes you have to declare it. If in doubt you should enquire as to what they want declared, although most will be quite specific. Adrian Flux and Sky Insurance in my experience will have modification reports that require disclosure of all mods which alter from factory. Clearly that wouldn't include such things such as non OEM oil and air filters etc. You could be in for a nasty surprise if you haven't declared the fact that the car is modified and you get into a scrape. When you agree a statement of facts you enter into a legal contact in which you agree that you have truthfully answered the questions. There is a specific offence for failing to declare material facts for the purpose of obtaining a certificate of insurance under 174(5) of The Road Traffic Act 1988. I would suggest that if you have disclosed a big old list of mods but omit an item I think it unlikely this would cause too much of an issue.
  12. I'm with Adrian Flux on agreed value policy. I have disclosed everything. The mod list was around 2 sides of A4. Got it for £580 fully comp. No voluntary excess with 9 years protected no claims. That's also with 2 extra people fully comp on the policy.
  13. Ref the insurance issue. Clearly it has been ascertained that she had a policy of insurance for her use of a motor vehicle on a road. In light of this there was third party cover in effect which is all that is required by law. Thus regardless of her drink and drive actions she was still covered for third party claims. Thus no offence under S.143 RTA 1988 (No Insirnace) was committed. The only complication I can see is that if she isn't the Registered Keeper of the vehicle yet her statement of fact upon inception of insurance states she is, then there has been a materially false fact disclosed to the insurance company. This may constitute an offence under S.174 (5) RTA 1988 (Insurnace fraud). If this is proven then the Insurnace company may have grounds to void cover from inception and waive their liability, being that the policy was inception upon false information.
  14. Facelift for me. The all chrome internals on pre-facelift and UK spec remind me of aftermarket saxo / corsa rear lights.
  15. Looks like he says Plasti Dip.
  16. Your panels came out very nice. I wish there was an equivalent colour made for the facelift panels. I am reliably informed that facelift panels can no longer be bought new as Toyota have stopped manufacturing them and global stock has run out. What a total pain.
  17. Could you post a couple of pictures of your panels?
  18. Have you also managed to replicate the texture of the facelift (S2) panels?
  19. Seems a sensible option if the setup is all TRD. I was reading that many people try to compensate for cheap hard spring aftermarket suspension by buying uprated anti roll bars. Apparently a decent damper doesn't require a stiff spring.
  20. What suspension are you running? Do you use the car in such a way that you would benefit from uprated anti roll bars?
  21. Could be a rubber seal in the door having gone slightly hard and rubbing? Incidentally is that a con light I can see on the dash?
  22. Welcome to the club. Stick some pictures up of your car

    Hello All..

Welcome. As above your doing the right thing looking via Jurgen. A nice fresh import is often the way to get a better car.
  24. That link I supplied earlier stocks loads of body clips and screws which are Supra specific. Basically they have virtually every clip or screw you need.
