  1. Hi Rich, Welcome and good luck with the build. Parts supply is starting to become an issue - you've undoubtedly found this out already. A few of us are doing shell up rebuilds and can testify to the frustration of not being able to find a new or second hand part. If you've access to the Yahoo auctions in Japan and have use of a proxy postal address over there, it will likely improve the odds of finding some of the increasingly discontinued parts. There is a slow trickle of second hand parts available, but knowing the right people is king. All the best again and do try and post a few pictures on the forum from time to time. Kind regards, Matt
  2. So, when do you think she will be ready to start?
  3. Factory dials look so much better than those metal monkey ones - if that's what they are?
  4. Possibly Rob. There are a few very detailed builds on here. I can't help myself but to refurbish / recondition or replace everything.
  5. Kane is just doing some spray outs now, so not long.
  6. Yep, it's amazing how many body plugs, bungs and grommets are on the shell. Some are reusable, but others are garbage and need replacing. I'll be certain to provide a photo.
  7. And a few more pictures of the same process to the other body parts. I've also placed an order for approximately 550 Toyota parts. These are mainly body plugs, grommets, nuts, bolts, fue line, fuel and brake line brackets, clips etc I'll need to start putting it all back together.
  8. You shouldn't have to do that. There is a dual aux. fan and single aux. fan variant of the fan shroud. But neither should cause any issues with the fitment of the damper. Another consideration would be whether or not your car has an aftermarket radiator? It may well be thicker causing the shroud to foul on the damper?
  9. That is a long list. However, I suspect that list will get longer once you start. You'll see something else and won't be able to stop yourself from dealing with it - however minor it is.
  10. A few more pictures through from today. Kane has been working on the others parts I dropped off. Also starting on the high build primer.
  11. It can if the vent has been left open in the engine bay. You can check this by looking in the location where the charcoal canister once was to see if there are any open pipes. As the others have said, also worth checking your fuel lines as they are now of an age where many have corrosion and leak.
  12. Simply put, yes. She is the Corporate Tax Partner in a firm of accountants and both a qualified accountant and tax advisor. She is sighted to all expenditure on the project. She knows this is an itch I've got to scratch and is incredibly supportive of the endeavour.
  13. My wife and I popped into see Kane yesterday. I needed to drop off the remaining panels to paint - new front wings (both sides), fuel cap, front and rear bumpers, spoiler, dismantled wing mirrors and handles. Also met James from Retro Roadsports for the first time, which was a pleasure. Very pleased with the cars progress. Kane has been straight onto the other parts today, getting them epoxy primered.
  14. Found. Thanks to Simon (Baldy).
  15. Personal preference and all, but I'd stick to these, if they do them for your wheel - which I'm sure they will.
  16. Are those OEM caps or aftermarket? I wonder if they might look a little too fussy.
  17. They do look better on the car versus the old wheels.
  18. Looking good. Did you managed to get them fitted today?
  19. How is the fuel tank now venting? Was the charcoal cannister removed as part of the single conversion?
