  1. I saw at least one Supra on the first activity video. It was silver.
  2. Steve is a top man. He personally delivered my last order to my house!
  3. Ditto. Interested to see what Toyota themselves have to say. Especially given the uncontrolled rumour mill on the net.
  4. I don't think it's anything to do with getting old. I think you just like the Supra and it has cemented itself in your brain. Longer term owners will invariably become like how I perceive old MG car owners etc.. My ownership is now defined, not by the speed or power of the car, but because I just like them. I think they are a stunning looking car which defined a period of automotive history. New cars come and go and will undoubtedly be faster, more comfortable and more stable but not necessarily better.
  5. I think we would all be surprised by how many people fall for this type of thing.
  6. Did you get the geometry of the suspension checked out after removing and replacing parts?
  7. My car does not have a rust issue, so cleaning out the box sections wouldn't be all to necessary. Clearly I would need to inspect these with an endoscope once the tear down begins to know for certain, but I'm confident they are in good order. I think the key will be to find a reputable company who can soda blast the car without distorting the crap out of it. I might omit the bonnet and doors to minimise damage. They also appear a lot easier the take back to bare metal. I like the idea of a factory fresh shell like you got Chris, but I like the idea of maintaining / keeping the matching chassis and engine. Graham - do you mind telling me where and how much you paid for the 240Z soda blasting. PM if you prefer.
  8. I've been doing a bit of reading on the net and it seems a marmite experience to me. Equal measure of positive and negative stories for both dipping and media blasting.
  9. That's an eye opener. In striving for a perfect starting point I could inadvertently cause myself long term issues. Surely this would be a result of a poor post dip cleaning process?
  10. Strangely I'd not considered that as I thought the size of the shell would have been prohibitive.
  11. I'm starting to think ahead to the respray on my car now that I have a cumulated most of the parts required for a respray. I want the car to be immaculate as I intend to keep it long term. When I resprayed my last car I had the shell taken back to bare metal, or as best as could be obtained in a rolling shell state. This time I intend on taking the car back to a bare shell and rebuilding. This got me thinking that I should really go all the way and have the shell acid dipped. Has anyone had experience of this? Any idea as to the cost of such a process?
  12. Probably between £80 and £100 would be my guess.
  13. I wouldn't argue with that. I'm glad Dan saved me the effort of having to make a decision around brakes. I've yet to have to replace discs or pads but I'm certainly they won't be cheap, especially the rear pads which need to be specially made.
  14. I would point out he went with an Alcon setup after this research.
  15. I love the Alcon brakes on my car. Better than my UK Spec brakes by a long shot, but to be fair the UK brakes were ample for spirited daily driving.
  16. Next question would be what condition?
  17. Are they facelift or pre facelift. Pre facelift panels are available from Toyota. Many Facelift panels no longer are.
  18. After confirming, I am informed by my wife we have a family event on the 1st Aug. I have removed my name from the list 1) supraleeturbo 2) DimSum 3) Pete.Osborne69^ 4) Tsia 5) berg 6) gordy.r 7) bobbeh 8) madmax2042 9) julianGTR 10) corruptsapphire 11) ripped_fear 12) Craig85 13) thomo8568 14) mk4gaz^ 15) Ian Ian (pencil us in as a possible) 16) lee_e
  19. I don't think they are a factory option as I have never seen them before.
  20. Have you seen any information about what damage there was? If this isn't available and isn't recorded anywhere I would walk away. At least when you buy a car with recorded damage you can obtain a report to see what was damaged. You then know exactly what you are buying.
  21. I've been reading some super geek posts on the net which seem to concur with the idea that snow is the ying to dragon lady's yang. What is also evident is that Melisandre's nickname is Lady Fire-Tits .
  22. Holy front indicators batman. Is that three front indicators per side I see?
  23. My wife said she read in the Metro this morning that the last episode has departed from books by killing an additional character. Anyone read the books? Was it John Snow?
