That's a good thing. The car is a one off and we will never see the likes of it again. It's as unique, if not more, than the Top Secret Supra or similar. -
Possibly. I'm struggling to remember how it's positioned if I'm honest.

We need content!! Also, don't sell.....you'll only regret it. -
There is also a rear rubber guide near the top. From factory it is flocked, but I suspect no longer. May also need some lube.

Interested to see what options there are for recovering the dash. Often they end up as a patchwork of panels that just don't work or just look too fussy.
-
What Darryl said. Mine had surface rust when I removed it. I had it media blasted and powder coated. I couldn't get it galvanised as they said the metal was too thin and would warp. When you say, "get the dash looked at", what do you actually mean? What are your plans with it?

Yam6 will be my go to for the time being. The prices they offer are very good. The other bonus is that they aren't too far from me, so if I order a part like fuel lines, I can collect the part. Many places simply won't order such parts for you because of the difficulty of posting them.
-
Jason at Yam6 has sent through a good number of the parts I've ordered, but there are still a large amount still to come. I'll get some pictures up once I have them all through. It's been a real chore to sort the parts into their respective sub assemblies ready to be installed on the vehicle - but this is better than leaving them all mixed up in a box!
-
Now that the underside is done the car has been put back onto the dolly. Kane has made up some brackets which allow the car to sit on the subframe points instead of the seals or chassis rails - don't want to damage them having just had them all repaired! The inside for front wings have been treated with the same Cobra underseal. Kane has also now started painting some of the ancillary parts, but also did the rear spoiler. VID-20231020-WA0028.mp4

No, it will be fine.

Thanks Simon, appreciate the comment.

Good luck!

Must be great to have it back and be able to crack on with rhe reassembly. Looking really good.

The body has been undersealed with Novol Cobra and then over painted in satin black. Love the contrast of the black with the paint in the engine bay. Can't wait for the rest of the car to be painted now.

As you suggest, the easiest thing would be to assume and check that one half of the double filament in the bulbs has blown.

Rain will be avoided, but she will get used on nice days....although I have the right to reevaluate this statement once she's back on the road.

Not biased at all

If it's possible to imagine this car looks even better in the flesh. You could fall into the paint and everything is just so clean and tidy. An amazing level of work has gone into the car. In my opinion this is one of the best full restorations of a Supra I've ever seen or read about. Darren has something really special with this car.

Just a couple of short videos of the paint being premixed by Kane. For those not familiar with the LGA colour. VID-20231004-WA0016.mp4 VID-20231004-WA0017.mp4

That's a very good question, which I've yet to properly consider. I will try and reuse my original one. I need to check on its condition as I've not paid too much attention to it thus far. I have decided on a paint colour though, purists read no further. I've decided to go with Lamborghini Grigio Avalon (LGA) (0049). Kane did a load of sprayouts for me. My wife and I pondered them for a few days and were in agreement on the colour choice. We were very tempted by the current GR Supra turbulence grey, and Kane did a great 196 toyota grey blend with more metallic flake that also looked good. However, on seeing the LGA I fell in love again. I say again as my last Supra was resprayed this colour, and I now remeber why I liked it so much. The original 6N0 grey just has too much green in it. If I sprayed the car it's original colour I'd be doing it for someone else, and this is entirely for me! Kane has also now seam sealed the car inside and out and we should have colour inside the car for the end of the week. Seam sealer isn't being replicated as it would come from factory as its just slapped on with a brush. We've gone for a far neater application.

Mods - any chance my build thread can be moved to the projects section?
