  1. Sorry about your car mate!! If you have only driven 2 miles in her since you got her is she under warranty??
  2. Sorry didnt mention time....was around 08:45 - 09:00hrs
  3. As the thread title says. You were static on the one way system. Wearing shirt and tie. I waved like a idiot, did the stupid 4 finger thing and everything but you just blanked me. I should mention I was in my crappy little Peugoet 206 not my Sup I gave up when I nearly went into the back of a car!!!
  4. Cheers Lee. I have PM'd Kopite.
  5. When I was 14 I spent the day at McLaren (Part of a competition called the Rover Challenge) and met the chief designer. While there we went to the factory line, and were able to test drive one of the cars . The factory line was sterile and you had to wear a white suit. The place was stupidly clean. Later we went to the buyers lounge where you are measured so that anthropometrically the car is tailored to you. They make a mould of you sitting down so that the seat fits you personally. Another silly fact was that in the engine was £3000 worth of gold used to deflect heat. Basically no money was spared and the place was imacculate. i think back then they were costing £1.5 million to make and were sold for £650,000 ish!! Nuts!!
  6. Parked the Sup outside my brothers place the other day. Theres a guy there with an moded R33 (i think), you know loads of logos everywhere that kind of thing. Anyway he likes to strut his stuff around the building with his arm hanging out the side etc.... When he rolled up, a few of the locals were looking at my Sup and ignored him, in the end he pulled up alongside took off his shades and spent about 10 mins looking at my car. Eventually I came out and we spent the next 15mins talking about how great import cars are. Definately some mutual understanding and respect there!!
  7. Right I'm looking for any of the following random bits. 1) Instrument Cluster for a 95 pre facelift Sup. 2) Driver Side Pillar trim (the bit where a pillar pod can be fitted). 3) Finally and a lttle random, looking for the padding from the underside of the bonnet. No idea about prices for any of these, so send me a message and we can discuss.
  8. The equipment in the car, which hardly ever works, or is used these days, links to the DVLA through a Police System called PNC (Police National Computer). Its ancient and the records regarding your vehicle and licence details uploaded from the DVLA are IMO usless and normally inaccurate. With regards to VRM, most checks are preformed through radio back to the IHC (Incident Handling Centre) these days as apposed to computers in the cars. This way all incidents are logged through a central unit and are auditable.
  9. As far as I am aware Supra Steve is right in relationship to the evidece required to formally prosecute regarding driving offences. TPT (Targeted Patrol Team) vehicles, or standard police cars can have camera equipment in them but mostly don't, however most traffic cars have full video equipment. However I fully endorse Homers comments about the good they do removing non insured, taxed, licenced persons and vehicles off the road. Driving a car like the Supra and looking young is always bound to raise eyebrows and concerns. Get use to it, or sprinkle talc in your hair every time you go out, lol. Finally, you probably find he was just bored and you were in the wrong place at the wrong time!! On a diffrent point, anyone else soaking in their own sweat in this heat???
  10. Saw an M reg Red Sup on Worplesdon road, Guildford today at 18:40ish. Male driver. Very distinctive as it also had some work currently being done to the front bumper. Would be great to know someone in the local area, I live in Halsemere, Surrey. Also saw an K/L Reg black Sup doing some speed:eyebrows: on the fast lane up the M1 yesterday morning. Finally saw a P Reg Grey/Gunmetally coloured Sup going into Compton, Surrey this evening about 7ish.
  11. I have exactly the same problem. I had a brand new compressor fitted and the system regassed and tested for leaks. I ocassionally get some cold air but not very often. It tends to work on colder days which made me think it might be something to do with the Solar Sensor, or the internal cabin air sensor??? TBH I dont really have a clue. Will check a few things over the weekend and report back. I downloaded a copy of the A/C-Heater System section from the workshop manual which includes a diagnostic and testing section. I will go through these and see if they help. If you have discovered anything please PM me or for teh benefit of others post it here.
  12. Thanks for the suggestion Merc. Already looked. Sebring is just the model name. All the components are stamped with the Chrysler symbol and they don't have wheels like mine. My wheels have the Sebring (who make the exhausts) badge on them. Any other ideas??
  13. Right it's an odd one I know but can anyone shed any light on my alloys. They are chrome alloys, 18" split rims, apparently made by Sebring, Austria. Now before anyone says anything, I know who Sebring are, I have been to their website but all they make are exhausts for formula one cars etc... They have no alloy wheels for sale. I have also done the standard internet trawls for information but to no avail. Here is a picture of one of my wheels; I will also try and get one of the emblem, although I think you can see it reasonably well on the above image. Any knowledge would be greatfully recieved.
  14. I'm 27 with 2 years no claims, with no convictions or penalty points. I have a 1995 RZ TT with some minor upgrade, Suspension, induction, 18" Sebring Split Rims etc... Wen't through club insurer (Sky Insurance) Fully Comp and agreed value of £12,000, with all mods declared, for £750:) . My previous insurer (Elephant) on a 1.6 Peugeot 206 were charging me £500:blink: . I couldn't believe it. Most other insurance companies were way off target with figures such as £1500 etc etc etc:search: I have to confess I got some other quotes close to Sky Insurances however the thing that swung it for me was the agreed value!!! I feel soooo much better knowning I have it. Additionally I was able to speak to the same person every time I called, even through the general office number, now thats service.
  15. Welcome Millsy, Got TT a week or so ago, can't stop going on pointless drives. As already mentioned the site has a wealth of information. It has been invaluable to me thus far and no doubt to yourself in the future. Enjoy:)
  16. Thanks for the info. Will give him a try.
  17. Just about to buy my first Supra a black Veilside 1995 TT with 50,000 miles on the clock. Getting her for £10,000 . Only trouble is she has a damaged dashboard where equipment has been attached. Looking to change it if I can. Therefore does anyone have a spare dashboard?? Know where I can get one?? Also I have seen threads about painting them black etc.. Can anyone offer advice on this etc... Cheers.

    paypal

Had a few of these myself. luckily, as everyone has already said, I spotted it was a con and ignored it. Pull up a sand bag and listen to this though!! My brother uses paypal quite a bit for selling things, he's one of those evening e-traders! He went away on holiday for 3 weeks and while he had been away someone in America had got access to his ebay and paypal account and was trading under his name. Luckily he was covered both through paypal and his bank. They had been selling computer equipment and had run up loads on his card, but around £250 on ebay charges!!! Once it was all resolved he was asked to change his passwords to both the ebay account and the paypal account to secure both against future fraud. The only issue he had about this was the fact that it had not stopped them in the first place!!! You just have to be soooooo careful of any requests for information or any clicky clicky (it's technical!??) icons from the net, they may well be software that monitors what you type etc.....
