  1. Have just tried to buy one new from Thor and they have informed me they no longer make this item!! Doh!! Therefore I am looking for the combined speedo converter and top speed delimiter. Or seperate? Someone must have one or know of a good alternative? Cheers, Matt
  2. I would love to pass another supra in mine. As sad as it sounds it would make my day!!
  3. Not spotted by me but by my brother and his partner today. Purple (Flip paint?) Hindhead service station with a damaged nose. Black a stonebridge (Surrey Police service centre and stores) Black veilside kit in Farnham at around 08:10 this morning. Apparently you pulled out in front of a bus/coach or something . You were wearing silver shades. And there was me cruising around Haslemere, Guildford, Godalming and not a sausage!!
  4. Let me start by saying I think the Golf and all its off spring are great day to day little cars (Except the R32 which is the biggest waste of money the world has ever seen!!). They are however common as muck, that is especially true for GTIs and TDIs. Lets face reality here, the Supra is getting a little old now and there are plenty of cars now on the market that, standard, will give the Supra a run for its money, but these are brand new cars against a 13-15 year old car!! Speed is most definately not everything and I think the Supra is one of the best looking cars ever made. Look how the styling is catching on in the Aston Martins and XK jags (There is a kit that makes it look identical to a Supra!!). The supra was decades ahead of its time both in terms of cost, styling and performance (Except the interior which dated quickly). Basically, IMO there is no contest between a Golf and a Supra either NA or TT. Go for the bloody Supra, you wont regret it. It brings a smile to my face ever time I drive it and it always gets noticed, unlike the boring golfs. I know there are die hard golf fans around so I await the brimstone!!
  5. I have some spare from a blue dial conversion you are more than welcome to. I take it they are the two bulbs that light up the two main ring sections of the heater controls? If not I have the others to!! PM me your address and just confirm we are on about the same thing. Becuase I am nice and its Friday you can have them for free. Cheers, Matt
  6. The skuttle (plastic bit below the windscreen) you can buy new for around £100? Just an idea if you want to super fussy!
  7. You could head north a little to Turbofit or Whifbitz. Both are Traders on this forum. Turbofit are up the M1 and Whifbitz are somewhere in or just out of North London. A little way to go but probably worth it in the end? Check out their websites for exact locations. I live in Surrey by Hindhead I do the basic services myself and am more than willing to help out if you need an extra pair of hands. However, anything like cambelts etc is probably best left to people who know what they are doing (and have the insurance to cover mistakes!!!)
  8. Are you sure its not the bodyshop being too fussy and not wanting the hassle?? This must be costing you a fortune buddy!! Good luck with the sale.
  9. Rich, Good to see another local owner. I live in Haslemere and work in Guildford. So no doubt will be seeing you around at some point. I have a black Veilside TT (N reg).
  10. Any chance of the rubber boots from around the gear stick?
  11. OK guys thats great. That means I currently have a UK and J-spec pre facelift ECUs. Sorry for confusing the whole GT,GE thing (thanks again Jake). Everyone who was having a heart attack can now relax. I wont need it now but am interested to see if the european will work on a J-spec??
  12. Like you said mate your car works fine, I wouldn't worry about it either. Thanks for your help though.
  13. PedroM, This is positive news. Is that J spec or Uk and facelift or older? Sorry for all the questions but it ain't going anywhere near my car until I am happy its the right one. Cheers
  14. If it help the 2 manual ECU I have are: I think this is the N/A one: 2JZ-GT M/T Part No: 89661-14501 The other one the writing is faded: ...-.. M/T Part No: 89661-146..
  15. Hey Cheekymonkey, I have just spotted a possible reason. Your car in your sig is a facelift!! Mine is not??
  16. I am soooooo confused!!! Thanks for having a look cheekymonkey. (sorry if I have now confused you) Anyone else able to assist?
  17. Cheers mate, The picture says GT though. Should it not say GTE for a TT?
  18. Anyone know the parts number for a Manual J spec TT ECU? Don't worry I am not looking to buy one new......I couldn't afford it!!
  19. Andy, I have bits from my old ashtray lying around somewhere. Are you after one of the small metal pins that the lid connects to the base with? If so I think I have one. I think any form of payment would be an insult so whatever you need it's yours. Matt
  20. I think it is accurate to say that a one time or another most people on the forum will have lost traction or control of their Supra. The real issue though is not the actual loss of traction but the situation and environment that this occurs in. In my experience I have, luckily (touch wood!), only lost traction at low speeds when there has been little or no tracffic or obstacles. However, any of these events could easily have been a lot more serious. I am glad in this case that Bismark has been able to walk away virtually scratch free. He has taught us that all we can ever do is be aware of the probability, situations, implications and actions of these kind of events. This is a gutting yet important lesson that we should all learn from. Bismark, I am under no illusions that you will be back in a Supra in the near future. As a member of this fourm its basically in your blood you can never escape it. Keep a stiff upper lip old boy Matt
