Wasn't Revs called Vroom (or something like that) on the Amiga?
Used to love that game!
I have several consoles, xbox, ps2 etc as well as all the classics - N64, NES, SNES, Megadrive etc. I love digging them out every now and then for a blast on road rash, toe jam and earl, mario kart etc.
IMO gaming started dumbing down when Sony took a massive part of the market from Nintendo. Nintendo always fought hard to keep gaming playable, probably by accident/stubborness by hanging onto cartridge format for so long.
Sony on the other hand moved over to CD then DVD where the games could have massive cut scenes and become more like a film than a game. Once games looked awesome in adverts on tv they'd sell a million copies more than nintendos latest 'plays like a dream, looks like lego' effort.
These days im a FPS and a RTS fan and these belong on the PC, Call of duty, medal of honour, C&C etc... totally unplayable on the consoles, even the latest versions.
Halo on the xbox was the only exception to this rule, other than that, driving games and footy games are all that the consoles are good for these days.
Also final thought -
Co-op mode is a dying art these days...
God I miss it!!!!
