Evening all, Have just bought myself a shiny black 94' GZ TT. It has been looked after well as far as I can tell but since picking it up yesterday (in the pouring rain - fun) i've had a couple of warning lights light up randomly.
Ive had the active spoiler miss-behave a couple of times, the warning triangle comes on and the active spoiler green light flashes (common problem I assume by all of the threads ive read) then once parked it has occasionally comes down then back up a couple of times.
The other warning light ive had is on the small panel to the right of the steering wheel, its on the left hand end and looks like an engine block and comes with the big warning triangle.
Both of these warnings have happened when Ive accelerated hard up to about 70 ish (ahem) mph but then go away a few seconds after I slow down to about 40 ish. They haven't happened at the same time either.
After going through the threads left by other people about certain faults I thought i'd give it a go and tried Mawby's fault code ecu bypass method (thanks so much btw mawby and aerotop dave, without some of your threads I wouldn't have had a clue what to look for in a Supra).
However instead of the big triangle warning light flashing the code, the engine shaped warning light did the talking.
It flashed up error 42 (flashed 4 times, paused, flashed twice then repeated).
The 'overdrive off' light also flashes on/off repeatedly whilst bridging the terminals.
I was thinking maybe oil pressure or something as its under hard acceleration but hoped you guys could help me out.
Btw its still restricted and still has the cats, pretty much stock apart from the wheels.
Sorry for the long post but Im scared of driving my baby till I know whats wrong with her. Thanks alot.
