DBB on a T61 with a cast manifold would be insane if not on the verge of surging. Ryan`s T61 produced 566hp and my 60-1 produced 560hp, both at SRR and both running approx 1.4bar, Ryan was running a tubular manifold and I have a cast unit. The T61 does have some top end edge over the 60-1 as you could run slightly higher boost, possibly 1.6bar where as my 60-1 is pretty much doing all it can within its efficiency range which for me is more than enough. We had to setup speed base boost to get traction and thats with R888 tires.
4. A GT4788R if thats what you have is a garrett GT4718R and is capable of 1400hp, if you are building a pro drag car then fine. http://www.atpturbo.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=GRT-TBO-054&Category_Code=GLF What make are the cams?
5. Much better ending. It also leans towards the fact that he is the monster doing the hunting not the other way round, they are victims not monsters.
6. With about 20k to spend a new unknown and untested solution might not be the best option.
7. My PHR Stage 1 (60-1) comes with a 0.70AR.
8. Thanks matey, they are like new Very snug fitting too
9. Are you talking about real reliable UK dyno proven 800hp? For me a decent road car would be nothing bigger than a T67 ideally smaller, dyno results on this forum show they are good for 600 to 650max. To get 800hp is going to require a large turbo which will mean lots of lag and crap on the road. IMO 800hp would be too much for UK roads, might be ok for drag racing though.
10. You can sort by any column by click on the heading
11. Correct you will need a boost solenoid. You can use the stock one or get a 3rd party unit, dont buy the AEM badged solenoid as its just a MAC vavle with a markup of nearly 80%, its a great vavle but get it somewhere else, Ryan can source these at a very resonable price. When the AEM boost control is setup properly it works a treat, its also one of the only boost controls that I have seen maintain the same boost on and off a dyno run, you can also configure speed dependant boost to aid traction at lower speeds. This is how mine is setup. The AEM can do traction control but I dont know anyone who uses it yet.
12. Hey All, Whats the difference between traditional brick housing and prefab construction? Are mortgages different and harder to get?
13. Nice, one thing I would do different is bin the AEM truboost and use the AEM ECU to control boost and have a high low mode.
14. I have updated the first post, what do you think? http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showpost.php?p=1656098&postcount=1
15. I guess selling mags for over £6 each prob helped
16. Why are you buying one? If you want it to look shiney and make noises then get a HKS or something similar but they are in no way a performance mod. As already mentioned the greddy units are very popular, you will also need to decide if you want to go FMIC or stay SMIC.
17. Good tires are a must on these cars. Get some decent ones in the correct sizes.
18. Stock turbos with manual or auto?
19. Looks a bit running man in places too. Could be ok though, Rhona Mitra could make it worth a watch.
20. How about this as it would be easier to manage if the long URLs are the last column.
Name|ECU|Trans|Turbo|Mapped By|Rating|Result Nic|HKS F-Con V Pro|Manual|Garrett GT3582R|HKS Pro dealer|10/10|542.7PS
21. Thats a cool idea if people can PM me there a link to their plots Or I could and another column at the end for a dynoplots.
22. PM me the details for each column and I will add you
23. Do you want to be added to this? http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=129455 EDIT: get the graphs up
