  1. Have they changed it? St Giles used to be free after 6:30pm... Anyway, it's pretty safe, if you can get a space!
  2. Which is worse - 'we've had this thread before' or 'blimey, thread from the dead' - take your pick, you can't win
  3. I agree people should be warned, but sometimes they won't listen A while ago someone posted up (on here or another forum, I can't remember) all excited that he could get Bosch HIDs for very little money on eBay. I tried to tell him that there's no way they were Bosch, but he bought them anyway. I don't know how it turned out. 'If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is'. And if 'it' is on eBay then doubly so. Here's the manufacturer's website... http://www.boschhk.com/english/products.asp?classid=130 I bought my HIDs for about the same sort of money (I suspect that some of the more expensive kits are exactly the same product, so it's debatable that by paying more you'll get better quality), but I bought from a company that had it's own name, with no deceptive branding going on.
  4. Bad luck Even if the naysayers are right, it's a harsh way to learn a lesson. Surely you mean '!='
  5. Going by the SAFC manual (I know it's not a BCC, but it uses the same connections), the ECU pinouts are different for VVTi. That probably explains why you got 11V (that wire was connected to the wrong ECU pin, sounds like it was an output). http://www.apexi-usa.com/support_wiring.asp The wire colour could well be different also.
  6. But that's mass not volume What is the maximum velocity of a sheep in a vacuum? http://.
  7. ... 16.3702 chicken's eggs, or 5.2087 Bulgarian airbags, or 35.8098 walnuts, or 0.5176 footballs, or ......
  8. That's just taking the pi mickey... you can probably get new ones for about 50 quid each.
  9. I'd guess it's just that the 'I am logged in' cookie is from mkivsupra.net, so Firefox refuses to send it back to mkivsupras.net. It doesn't log me in if I use that url - nothing wrong with your firefox installation by the sounds of it
  10. Good one! Wolverhampton though, surely....
  11. There's a manual here, but it's in Japanese Basically though, fully clockwise is the hardest and there's 15 softer levels as you go anti-clockwise. '12' (11 clicks down) is the recommended starting point. Mine are on '13' at the moment I think. Basically the same as other Teins, as far as I know.
  12. Also, 'others' should have an apostrophe, and embarrassed has two Rs. '... the spelling and grammar is poor ...' - better without 'the'? Should it be 'are' instead of 'is'? Rob gets a B- for failing to spot all the errors Seriously though, as long as the meaning is clear it doesn't really bother me too much even if some people use txt speak. On the other hand, it would be grim if everybody did. Not using punctuation or paragraphs really grates though, and makes posts damn near illegible.
  13. 'Fuel duty raised £23.3 Billion for the treasury in 2004-5' (from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydrocarbon_oil_duty) So, yeah, 26 Bil or more for this year sounds about right. I can understand the Americans moaning about increases though - in terms of percentage their at-the-pump price is rising faster than ours. If the base price goes up 10%, they pay 10% extra, but we only (lol) pay about 5% more because the duty is the same.
  14. 'I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes'. The quote is originally from The Catcher in the Rye, but the logo is from the first Ghost in the Shell series.
  15. Well... parking can be dangerous... http://www.theargus.co.uk/news/localnews/display.var.1717561.0.car_blunder_leaves_driver_kod.php Anyway, back to this Supra - has it gone into the canal from the car park? Can't see much sympathy coming if that's the case.
  16. Terminal speed is better than ET as a guide to what bhp you're running. I did a bunch of runs at rotorstock - my terminals were all within 1 mph of each other, but there was over half a second difference in the ETs. If you spin the wheels at the start you waste time, but you don't waste a lot of distance
  17. I've got these 5 led ones in my Soarer, but Ultraleds don't them anymore. They do a 9 led version instead! They're some of the whitest I'd seen, and because most of the LEDs face sideways (into the reflector) the light pattern is quite bulb-like... which is a good thing, in my opinion.
  18. Hamilton just did a 1.13.446.. maybe those tyres will last a little longer!
  19. I'm looking around for the right wheel as well, but find most of them either too extreme looking, too bling, or too small ( I quite like the Richbrook R2... http://www.speeding.co.uk/acatalog/r2wheeltemp.jpg
  20. Surely cooler air should allow more advanced ignition timing as well, I've no idea just how big a difference that makes, but I got the impression it was appreciable.
  21. Hmm. Unless you change the cams, the engine is gonna munch the same volume in each case. I reckon the only variables left are pressure and temperature...
