I need to replace the bulb for the lower glove box. It's a tiny slot in type. Does anyone know what bulb it is? I was going to take it to Halfrauds to compare but I'm not sure what I've done with it now :s doh. Ta Matt

Fair do's I guess the only true way to avoid rust completely is to use a non-reactive material. Brass cars for the win!

If I had an area of rust - say 2 inches in diameter - and a bodyshop cut out a large area around it and they welded in a new panel, re-sprayed it to seal it in then unless water gets through the paint (say a crack) then that rust shouldn't come back.

Well that's a prime example of mal-practice.

Surely if the bodyshop removes the area of rust and replaces the holes then that would be rust issue resolved? I would not expect it to come back.

Yes, they definately would have told him the length of gaurantee, but that should only be applicable on work that is done correctly. If it's been fudged badly and it's provable, then Rob should be in a good position to get something sorted. So you do offer a warranty then

What do you mean? That they told Rob that they were going to do a bodge job to get the colour match right and whether he was ok with that?

I think in this case the length of guarantee would be irrelevant if the job was never done right in the first place.

That's actually quite amazing. 'please prove that you've never claimed in march 08'?! Do they want you prove as the same time you've never had a claim in any of the other months since 08 as well?!?!

Rob, Having consider your situation, I think your still have a good chance of getting something sorted as I don't believe from what we've discussed, that what has happened is a fluke thing. If they have not prepped properly and simply sprayed over the other top coat, then they are guilty of mal-practice. If the job was never done properly in the first place, then your claim should stand regardless of time. If the job was done properly and this has happened, then you would have no chance, but I don't think that is the case. I think you should get it checked by an independant proffesional. If they never did the work properly in the first instant, then you have a right to claim.

I think as it's three years on they will wash their hands of it. It's defo not right. That extent of damage should not be occuring 3 years on.
