Anyone had any experience replacing the external rubber / weather strip? I have just popped my lights back together and realised I have destroyed the external piece.

As Its because I did not pull it fully out of the garage to flush it. So I never even went into the car only to pop the bonnet. Im back at home now so Ill check the passenger footwell. As soon as I read your previous post though I had a flashback of some water leaking in there at some point. It must have bee buried deep.. :/ -

Hi guys sorry for the late reply. On the matrix, I have not run it up to temp as I have been in London although that is where I will start. In regards to it leaking in the passenger footwell I did not check but I have got a sneaking suspicion it is from from memory 5 years ago. Which I now obviously know means its Donald ducked, took you to mention it to remind me though. I had never heard of the tipex test either but will do that this weekend. -

Just wanted a bit of advice on this before I put it back together. I have managed to weld the radiator. Lost a couple of fins in the process but its a very small area. Ill monitor the temp and swap it out but I really think it will be fine. Before I stick it all back together should I be changing the timing belt, tensioner, water pump and other wheels all in one go? This obviously wants doing at some point but should I be concerned and do it before driving it round again? I have flushed the heater matrix and some right bits came out. Really not sure if that is going to work again. Just need to reflush the entire system with the radiator back on and drain and refill. In regards to the brakes I am waiting for some more bits then going to take all 4 calipers off and refurb all of them with a CW kit. Just need to order it so I can do it over Xmas -

Ahh sorry. I thought you meant the condenser. No the rad is aftermarket. It's blown near the top right corner which may or may mot have happened when it was mounted. Going to have a go at fixing it which I'm pretty sure I can. Get my tig weld on. I've got a new rad cap on order too already. I'm going to flush the heater matrix whilst the rad is off. Then flush again once the rad goes back on to do the full coolant system. -

It looks original, I would say it looks worse than it is. Until I make an effort to clean it I can not really say. Its on my job list for the weekend as well as getting the rear calipers off. -

Any opinions on the Air con delete. Im looking at how its stacked up at the front. There is a my FMIC then the aircon rad before the radiator. It cannot be good for it, or am I overthinking it? Thing is I think I would use the air con but the car is going to be second car rather than a daily driver like it was before so maybe I would do without. -

I have actually been just stood next to 4 Bridgeports. Not sure if the company would let me put my calipers in there tho. I work as a H&S consultant and do a variety of engineering firms but its generally for medical or aerospace. So its going to have to be a DIY job unfortunately -

Thanks for the advice but as Scooter said. I have flared one of them. Irrelevant to that though they do not want to move with as much heat and lube prior to excessive elbow grease. Im resigned to getting my cut on and ordered a drill bit as I did not have one the right size. Nothing ventured nothing gained -

Ok trying to have a look at the brakes and fell at the first hurdle. For love nor money can not get the pins out to release the pads. I've give then a good dose of penetrating lube but they still will not budge. Any guru advice? Or am I resigned to cutting them? -
Don't understand why everyone is getting I a twist over this. Something is worth what people are prepared to pay for it and what a seller is willing to accept. If someone makes money by putting time, money and effort into reselling then that's kudos to them. L-reg white stock body and possibly stock wheels in Kirkstall road in leeds
Harris25 replied to Iky's topic in Was it You?
I have seen this one. I did some work for a company in kirkstall and could see it few cars upfront. -
Well tbh I think mine might be fubarred but I'm gonna have a pop at at first. Worth it even just to unclip a few tubes and have a look round. I have learnt more in last month just by being patient and taking stuff apart, reading articles, watching you tube and putting some work in. I want to have it ready before Drew Brees lifts that super bowl trophy

Hopefully someone can be of use with this. My brother in law just sold his bike as he has had a new kid. I've drawn him in our family Secret Santa. He loved the thing so I wanted to get him a model but I can not seem to find one that's the right colour or year. There must be a company out there that does one? Any ideas? The bike was a Kawasaki Z1000 (A1 2003) in Orange and Black I have found a 2007 in green and another one just in black. My knowledge of bikes is pretty small but I (maybe wrongly) thought that certain bikes, of certain years were always one colour?? Either way any help is appreciated, otherwise I am going to have to go back to the drawing board

Ok update. Managed to start from the front and work back. Headlights out and refurbed. Just waiting for paint to dry. Had some novice issues with painting but with some creative masking this a job anyone can do. Radiator is out found the leak and has been added to my welding list. Reckon I can sort it, only going to cost me time and argon to try . The bottom hose did not want to come off it was a true battle. New air filter on order. Realised the old one was an apexi fake so not sure if that affected anything. Managed to polish up the intake as well although I reckon I can get it better. I have had a good look underneath. The main rust is where the radiator was. Everything else looks like it can be repaired and then sealed although I need a dry day. The most trouble I had was getting a nut off the drivers side. I ended up with penetrating lube then positioned the car next to the wall of the house with the jack forcing a set of mole grips onto the wrench. With me then proceeding to jump on it like something out of casino. 2 hours later when I heard it give up I shouted so loud the postman shit a brick. Needless to say callipers are off now and I'm going to split them over the weekend. Probably need to speak to CW about a refurb kit. Thankfully I have not hit anything I could not solve at this moment but I will keep this updated and get some pics up. -
He I've see all that stuff. That what I'm doing. It's not that part that's the problem. It's the reflector that sits behind the main beam bulb that's part of light fitting itself. Think I'm going to respray it with some chrome see if I can rescue it slightly not sure how affective it will be though
