  1. Bad times Sorry to see this Dave, I'm glad there was no ones supra in there though. Especially after a recent member on here got his nearly written off by his insurance company after a break in.
  2. I've been looking into this for next years Pistonbroke productions The best budget HD camera I've found is the Sanyo Xacti HD1010. Check out some of the footage on youtute, it's pretty impressive stuff. Especially the night footage taken in Dubai. night footage is very difficult to get right, and the Panasonic I currently use is worse than useless in bad light. The 1010 is soon to be replaced by a newer model, so the 1010 can be found for about £280.
  3. No, it's a area of adjustment similar to tracking.
  4. But you know what'll happen, a poor unsuspecting new member will turn up with his shiny black aero. Only then will he realise what's happened. I'm sure the original seller can contact trading standards and report him through them. Itn wouldn't be much use one of us doing it as the only evidence we have is the original advert on Pistonheads. the original seller will have personal knowledge of the car and can categorically state as FACT that the mileage has been tampered with.
  5. It's called tramlining. A car with wide tyres will do this more notcibley that a car with skinny ones. The lower the profile of the tyre, the more you'll feel it. If you've noticed it more recently but haven't changed anything, check your tyre pressures.
  6. If we get moved on, we could just go to McDonalds right next to it. 1. supraturbochris 2. Slurpy Supra 3. Pistonbroke
  7. Not heard of that one before.
  8. Spring asissters?, on a supra?. This is a first. Lets put aside for a second that you're driving around in a 3ltr engine RWD car in the worst months of the year with severly compromised handling, with wheels that don't fit. So, I take it you know that spring assisters are meant for stuff like towing caravans. The fact that your car has no extra pressure on the rear probably means the assisters are jumping around in the spring when you go over bumps. Stick a towbar and caravan on the car, and it should sort the problem. Failing that, get some wheels that fit, and bin the assisters.
  9. I'm gonna say the VS-XX. They'd look better on a black car.
  10. Just need to post a date on here, and people will come. Just change it every month so its not a pattern.
  11. We need to change the date monthly. A regular meet gets the unwanted chav presence which ultimately gets us booted out. The reason I left the other night was down to 6 or 7 saxo, nova, 306, mums A class boy racers go screeching off round the car parks which gets too much attention. I don't mind the lads who come along for a gander, but the tyre screeching boy racers ruin it for eveyone.
  12. Having re-read my comments, it could be contrued that I'm coming across as a bit of a fanboy for the LED's. I'd like to stress this is not the case. I've never ever been a fan of Samsung, or LCD's for that matter. My last screen was a plasma, my current screen is a plasma. At the time I was in the market for a new TV, the plasmas wiped the floor with LCD's. But I think things have moved on, hence why big players like Sony only sell LCD's now. LCD's issues (artifacts, blurring, the inability to do black), much like plasmas issues, (screen burn, light degredation over time) are a thing of the past. Things are a lot closer now between the two. I've read reviews on amps, TV's, moniters, disc players, speakers etc, and found myself disagreeing hugely with reviews, especially from what hifi. I'd take what's written in magazines with a pinch of salt. I guess what I'm saying is, go have a look at what's been suggested here, and make a decision based on what you see, not what you read. Find a specialist with a decent demo room and have a play. For example, Sevenoaks hifi in Bromley have 2 demo rooms, you ask them for specific gear to be setup and they'll put it all in for you. You can then sit there and check it out for yourself.
  13. Here's a picture of Jimojameso's car, it probably would've been ok had it not been for the weird ghosting. The rest are rubbish
  14. They are mate, my wife dropped the camera and the screen smashed, so I have no way of controlling the settings or seeing what I'm doing. I'll put the pics up.......but they suck bad.
  15. Pioneer prices are huge compared to the competition. Sure they're good, but I've never been convinced the prices reflect the difference.
  16. I know the LED is a LCD with different backlight method. However, I sat watching the 55" Samsung LED on display 2 days ago running next to other screens, Panasonics new Viera being one of them. They were all running from the same source, a HD Blu-ray demo disc with clips from films of all types....including the blue planet. Proof is in the pudding mate, the Samsung made the others look lackluster and vague. It didn't blur, there were no artifacts, colours were virbrant and sharp with no bleed. All this, and it's about 1cm thick.
  17. They're crap mate, really not worth it........I need a new camera
  18. I suppose it depends on what the rebuild entails. The J-spec turbo limits are down to the ceramic components weakness. If it's rebuilt with stronger steel parts then you should be good for the higher boost. However, Mr Whiffen knows whats needed when it comes to refurbing the turbos, so his units should be the safest option. If you check his website, you'll see that there are several stage options for refurbing stock units available, so getting a set off him seems the sensible option.
  19. As stated already, the LED's are amazing picture wise compared to the others. Samsungs are the only ones I'm aware of at the moment that are doing them. I'm thinking about selling mine in the near future to get their 55" jobby. I've found it on the web for just over 2K. I bought my current 55" Hitachi for 3.5K a few years ago.
  20. The previous owner of my current car....who I'll not name (but searching will reveal all ) had facelifted the stock J-spec lights himself. He cooked the lamps for too long in the oven and melted the bulb holder section of the lamps. The bulbs were held in by insulation tape
