  1. Well, I've pre-emptively been doing what malcolm has suggested. I took the BOV off.... As you can see, my leaking seals have caused some oil to blow out the valve, no doubt causing bits of crap to stick to the oil mist and make the smooth operation of the valve a bit sticky. So, I stripped it down and cleaned everything. I also noted that the nipple for the small vacuum pipe was loose enough for me to unscrew with my fingers, this may have caused some slight leaking. Re-assembled, nice and clean (how can these things cost so much money, there's sod all in them) Here's a video clip of it running having been stripped and cleaned. You can see how low the revs are now that make it vent compared to the other video
  2. no, mine is still in sequential mode.
  3. I can see it moving even under low load (low revs), but I don't think it's sealing. It also seems to have got quieter recently, it used to make a racket, now it's a little chirp.
  4. having looked around at dump valve prices, it seems bailey are pretty cheap (it came on the car when I bought it). My thinking is the spring/mechanism is not closing fully when on positive pressure, unless the pressure is strong enough (higher revs) to make it close.
  5. The last couple of days I've noticed my dump valve isn't venting like it used too. I've got a video here explaining and showing the problem. It still seems to vent when the car is cold, but once warmed up, I get nothing below 4k.
  6. Rev 3 mr2 turbo. Even in stock form it'll walk all over most things on the track.
  7. Holy crap, .......@ 3.13 I'm pretty sure he said fluxmuster?!?!. WTF, I've never heard any of those terms before. I bet the technicians at Chrysler are an interesting bunch.
  8. I'll never be going to the Ace cafe again. Some prick smashed into my last supra and drove off.
  9. You have to shop around a bit, CR turbos are tried and tested with several members having had their turbos worked on by them with good results. It's £600 for the overhall, with the rest being labour. As for the stereo, I don't use the car daily so no stereo is not really an issue
  10. That's it though mate......funds. It's 1k to get the turbos done. I've been saving for ICE stuff for months, but the money is now going on getting the tubos done. I've had the car for nearly a year with no stereo, it's a good job the 2jz is a nice sounding engine.
  11. Just got a message back from michael, his problem was his turbos.
  12. I get no smoke on startup. My problem is exactly the same as described here by Michael http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=16703&highlight=blue+smoke&page=5
  13. Well, test successfully carried out, floor it in 1st, trac control off, redline........peak boost seen as 1.18. Both tubbys are coming on for sure......1st gear is savage
  14. Yes I have a boost gauge too, I will have a definitive check this evening. Redline in first, then check peak boost on the gauge.
  15. mine is like it too, I just put it down to running out of revs before they get a chance to spool. 1st gear on the v160 6sp is over very quickly.
  16. Just to resurrect this thread, the PCV valve has not worked, it's still randomly puffing out blue smoke once warmed up on pull away in traffic. I'm having the turbos taken off at the end of the month to have them reconditioned (hybridised ) in the hope that it sorts the problem. I'll update this thread with the results.
  17. Who's doing the retrim mate? I'll need some work doing too in the future. Looks awesome BTW
  18. If it were me, I'd sell your NA, and buy a TT6. You have the right budget for a nice TT6. It'll be a car that was 'out of the box' in the spec you want. No messing with paperwork, no messing with potential buyers down the road explaining how and why everything has been changed. I'd speak to Jurgen, tell him what you want, let the man work his magic to find the car you really want. Stick a deposit down, while you wait for the car to arrive, sell your NA. Then sit back and wait for your new toy to arrive with a smug smile on your face that you're the first person on the log book
  19. They are not cheap wheels, keep hold of them if you can.
