  1. Has anyone been out in one of these? http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1737702.htm
  2. I want the car to be good fun, but don't really fancy a balls out track racer with no luxury. ------- Nice work Michael, bar the last one...................which we're not allowed to mention
  3. The others are all post 2001, so higher tax bracket. I hear you on the 2001 supra, plenty of change form 20k too
  4. As most of you probably do, you sit there browsing pistonheads/autotrader/carandclassic etc etc with a budget for a possible purchase, waiting for something to jump out at you. In the next 3 years, I'm looking to spend 20k on my next car. I was drawn to the new Camaro at one point, then the rapidly depriciating C6 jumped out at me, the one with the LS3 engine. Then it dawned on me that these cars being much newer, will be in the highest tax bracket of £450 per year, I know it's not a huge amount of money to pay, but for some reason, it's a kind of mental block which leaves a bad taste in my mouth at the thought of paying out that much to the government for a car I'll only be using at weekends. So, here's what you're tasked with. You have 20k in your pocket, but your money can only be spent on a car that is 2001 built or older.......what would you buy?

    New Start!

Yeah, the meets we have and the convoys too them are pretty epic
  6. Spotted this thread come up (that you commented in a couple of years ago). http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=165571 He's got Forge competition wheels which are the widths you want. They have a dealer in France so should be easier to ship over than from the states. http://www.forgeline.com/products/competition-series/zx3r.html?seo_category_name=competition-series&seo_product_name=zx3r&pricing=1
  7. I think Michaels calling you a queen JP

    Hiya!

5 pages for a welcome thread!. At this rate she'll get a supra for free

A lot of later J-specs have the bigger brakes on already. BPUing isn't that much different on a J-spec as you already know. Personally, I'd rather have a nicer condition newer lower mileage Jspec to fettle than an old UK. Facelift headlights are also nicer to look at than UK's. Speak to Jurgen, he could probably import a car exactly to your spec already BPU'd.

I thought that, until I saw supra-plant pull up at the Bluwater meet in his showroom condition low mileage UK car. He says the seller had it up for grabs for an age too. Proof that they are out there. Can I ask why you're only considering a UK car?, you can get newer, lower mileage mint Jspec. IIRC, Jurgen can now get 2002 Jspecs into the country. They cost a pretty penny, but worth every single one of them IMO.
  11. Pics of them on a supra may help, though my thoughts are that a 9j rear with a 42 offset will look a bit arch shy.
  12. My old red one (now Mark Newmans car) Current silver car ( harder colour to make shiny )

    Hiya!

Nope, I live in Sidcup, but work in Bromley. When the weather's nice, I occasionaly dust the supra off and take her in. Most the time she lives in the garage.
  14. Saw this on Kotaku a moment ago. This may not appeal to a lot of you, but I think it looks pretty cool. Plus the prodigy soundtrack helps somewhat

    Hiya!

Cool. Oh, if you see a silver supra driving through Bromley being driven by a german looking blonde bloke, make sure to give me a wave

    Hiya!

I'm not going to be at the Bluewater one this friday (work ), but they're all a freindly bunch that go down there. See this thread for info :- http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=206257 don't be too afraid of turning up and being surrounded by saddo petrolhead fellas, there's a couple of female members that turn up fairly regularly, and the majority of us guys that go are fairly well behaved (though watch out for blackwatch666's mate, that man has no shame )

    Hiya!

Hi Lauren, welcome to the mad house. Where abouts in London are you from? Reason I ask is because there is a meet at Bluewater on Friday evening where a few of us meet up. It'd give you the chance to walk around a few supras and get the feel for them. Some of us are kind enough to take people on test drives if you ask nicely. (I took 2 out last time )
  18. He says the wheels are staggered with wider rears, they're clearly the same front and back
  19. Right, get your ass over to this lot then...... http://www.iforged.com/uk/wheels.php examples http://iforged.com/showroom/main.php?g2_itemId=3733 http://iforged.com/showroom/main.php?g2_itemId=5395 http://iforged.com/showroom/main.php?g2_itemId=31
  20. Whats your budget J? Iforged stuff aint cheap, but your can stipulate how wide you want to go and still get the clearance you need for your calipers.
  21. Holy crap James, someone could have bet me good money about it being you and I would have lost. I never in a million years would have thought you'd stick pink wheels on it. Well done for the going individual route, it's certainly a brave step to make, especially with a UK car. One thing you can rely on though, at least your bird is still really good looking (JOKE!!) The more I look at it, the more it's growing on me.
  22. I've been staring at the blank quick reply box for 10 minutes trying to think of something to write, words worthy of how awesome it is escape me still. So I'll just say this....... ZOMFG!!!! I look forward to meeting you hodge, I'd feel priviledged to shake the hand of the man responsible for such an amazing work of art
