  1. I'm sorry mate, but that's turd. I used to cut the keys. There are 6 slots, with 4 varying degrees of 'cut'. Hopefully I'm working this out correctly (a maths bod will be along soon to prove me wrong if I am) So thats 4x4x4x4x4x4 = 4096 combinations.
  2. I'll be there in spirit boys, just cleaned the supe, shined the tyres......she's looking HOT I finish work at 0300hrs, if anyone fancies a mini meet
  3. Speaking of low budget car shows, has anyone been watching the new series of wheeler dealers on disc RT? It's quality, they've upped their budget (though not by loads). They've bought some proper awesome classics (845 bmw, Sapphire cosworth, triumph stag, 1973 911) and then done them up to sell. I like it because it seems a bit more genuine, the lanky dude actaully gets his hands dirty and does all the work, I find it fascinating. It makes me want to go out and buy some old shitter to waste money on
  4. Erm, you're wrong there bud
  5. My dad did exactly the same thing years ago to my car, he's never driven one of my cars since.
  6. Nice mate, very nice I personally think you're under selling though. I've seen cars not as nice as that go for the same money. Can I ask what you're getting next?
  7. If Ford can remove the lock to get the code (something I know they can do as I used to do it), why drill one out in the first place?. Is the car double locked?, if not, they are fairly easy to get into with a coat hangar through the door. I'm also pretty sure that Ford can get your key code from the vin number, this would mean they could cut a key without messing with the locks. Have a look in your service pack, they originally came with 2 plastic strips that were attached to the keys when new, if these are still in the pack, they have a 6 digit number on, this is your key code. You can cut a key with this then program it later. HTH
  8. Yes, If you have the rest of the Auto ancillaries. If you had an auto tt already, and you wanted to drop this engine in, you could.
  9. I'm the first to admit I'm no oil painting. I think Fall Out Boy put it best "Girls don't like boys, girls like cars and money". Plus, If a nice young lady is on the pavement to your left, you're closer in the vette
  10. 996 turbos can be had for just over 20k now. So in a couple of years they might be down to 20k. Though now I've been told that import Vettes don't come under the c02 banding tax system, I'll be happy poodling around in a ridiculous 6.2ltr v8 muscle car. I love the corvette, always have. I don't mind that it's a left hooker, ask tooquicktostop, he's had a few. It would bother me if there were RHD versions around, but as they only do them in LHD, I'll be happy with that.
  11. It means the Vette is back in the game. I've got a couple of years to brush up on CB radio banter before I get one
  12. I wouldn't go hunting for prices of things until you narrow down what the problem is, you'll only scare yourself unnecessarily. The front main seal failing is not unheard of on supras, and when they fail they can be pretty spectacular as you have described. Providing you've stopped the car as quickly as possible as you described, I doubt you've done any damage to the rest of the engine. Replacing the seal isn't too big a job, not much more work than a cambelt change. You may well be advised by the garage though that a new oil pump is required. I've done some reading on FMS failures, and a few have put it down to old oil pumps being the cause. There's no point worrying yourself about what 'might' be the problem, just hold out for whifbitz to report back and go from there.
  13. Get some pics if you can mate and we'll try to help.
  14. It could be an oil seal, or a feed for your turbo. But without more details or pics, we're just going to be guessing.
  15. Whoops, blimey mate. It doesn't sound cheap thats for sure.
  16. Rockford Fosgate stuff is overrated IMO. I've seen their subs fail before.
  17. Nah, my team at work is short this weekend so they wouldn't let me out to play
  18. Cheers mate, having looked at the gumf on the DVLA website, I thought if they had records of the cars C02 emmissions then you were in play for their tax banding, the only way not to be in it would be to import a car that they have no knowledge of. If you're sure that the US import Vette is excempt, then thats that. Expect to see me in a Vette in the next few years The reason for the LS3 is that it has that little bit extra. I want it to feel like my BPU supe, if not slightly better (no lag).
  19. It would seem I've had a bit of a brain fart. 18 months ago I sold my 2002 WRX STI scooby, and a years yax for it was £450. They must have changed the rules or something since then without me noticing as I was dead certain that cars after march 2001 were part of the scheme that I wanted to stay out of.
  20. I give up. You guys are too rich for me .
  21. Its a scam, he's been outed loads before on here.
