  1. Your taking the piss, surely. I have my doubts as its a left hooker.
  2. When the engine is not running the gauge should read 0. Is it an electrical gauge,? if so, it may be like an old greedy electronic gauge that I had that just used to read bull shit all the time. When you come off the throttle, the gauge should read into the vacuum area of the gauge. You've said it stayed just above 0 which points to a knackered boost gauge.
  3. Thats the stick on stuff, we're talking about spraying. Looks good though mate.
  4. Them headlamps are even yellower than mine when I first got it. To put it into perspective mate, I've recently got mine and its an absolute mint condition car, and I paid 9K for it. You get what you pay for.
  5. The foliatec stuff worked fine on mine, after the rubber crap was off, I rubbed the plastic down with 800 grade wet dry paper, then used the foliatec primer, the paint adhered really well as you can see above. Its rock solid as well.
  6. neo, you haven't sprayed the window switch area on the passenger door yet. Are you going to do that in the future or are you leaving it? Also, do them door trim sections come off easily?
  7. yup, providing you are not the registered keeper of the supra and you policy states any other car with the owners consent.
  8. Go for the trade insurance mate, 1K is not a bad deal for someone your age, I paid more than that for an xr3i !
  9. No, When you park the car on a road somewhere and leave it unattended, its uninsured, you can't have a car on a public road with no insurance.
  10. Ok, lets say the car is not insured at all, and you drive it 3rd party, then park it up, you leave it and then it rolls off down the hill killing someone. Who's insurance is responsible?, not yours because you are not driving it, so the car was uninsured. every car on the road has to have its own policy of insurance. Its only down to you when you are driving it but it still has to have its own insurance.
  11. The car has to have its own insurance though, you can't drive a car that is not covered by its own policy.
  12. The first part of my dash respray project is underway. I've used a lot of the tips off this site in order to get the job done properly. I found that using bleach, neat on the rubber coating, then leave for five minutes made the stuff just wipe off. I then wet/dry paper 800 to give the surface of the plastic a rough edge for the paint to adhere to. Then used foliatec interior spray primer, them foliatec interior silver. Heres the result.
  13. I'm sorry mate, the supra needs to have its own insurance, otherwise you could insure a mini fully comp, then say third party on a 355 ferrari that you also own. Everyone would do this otherwise. Trust me, I send people to court for this regularly.
  14. Well, I was lucky in the fact that half the cap stayed in the top of the rad and i managed to pull it out with a pair of needle nose pliers, fully aware that if I dropped it, then the rad would have to be removed and flushed or replaced.
  15. Martin, I bought mine off you a couple of weeks ago and I can see no screw.
  16. My HKS doesn't have an adjustment screw ?!?! Oh, and I don;t have a boost gauge yet so I don;t know if its venting early or not, it dumps just by revving it though so it sounds similar.
  17. No problem, I'll limp out and get one later.
  18. I decided to fit my stainless coolant pipe today and what should have been a simple job turned into a bit of a nightmare. I decided at the start to not start the engine but to push the nose out of my garage so I dont heat the system up at all, whilst doing this, I managed to push the back wheel onto my left foot just when the car went over the lip of the front of my garage so it stuck with my toes weged under the wheel. I managed to push the car off of my foot without screaming to much, maybe I should have called it a day there but decided to carry on anyway. I then took the old pipe off and fitted my new stainless one, when I came to top up the coolant in the radiator, the cap decided to show me what it looks like when its split up into all of its component parts Luckily, I found a parts place in welling, S&C motor spares that had supra TT caps in stock so I rode 7 miles to get one. Finally got it fitted so it all ends well, I'll be limping for a while though.
  19. its the one behind the cinema, the one you can see the next store from.
  20. Surj, did you get it checked out then? is it defo the bearings?
  21. Yeah, mine is the same as yours.
  22. I just thought I'd put some info up here advising people about a little fault I found today that could have spelled huge financial repairs for my car. I bought a chrome rad pipe for my TT, off of a member on here that had previously purchased it from Miami-GT. I went to fit the pipe today and noticed that all over the inside of the pipe, was metal filings and chunks, they coated the whole surface of the inside of the pipe. If I were to fit it without cleaning it out first, it would have meant certain death for my water pump. The filings and small chunks probably came from when the pipe was being cut and polished. I just thought I'd give you a heads up. Please don't think this is a pop at Miami-GT, I just thought I'd let people know for their own assurance.
  23. Ok, so its not silent, but when its not under load it makes very little noise, Just a nice deep runmble, its only when you give it some that it starts to sing.
