  1. Very nice mate, fastest color too................ (lights touch paper and runs)
  2. that told me, They used to get stuck all the time on transit van diesel engines and it was held on by a big left hand thread. I suppose it was silly of me to compare them to a Supra engine
  3. Jake, am I right in thinking the thread that holds the coupling on is back to front as well, this is so it doesn't loosen with the rotation of the engine. I think its called a left hand thread, so when you go to take it off, be careful because you may actually be tightening it up.
  4. I used paint thinners on mine and wire wool to get it off. Both can be purchased from Robert Dyas stores
  5. The steering flutter could just be tyre bounce, other than that, check the fluid level and make sure theres no leaks. The banging noise from the rear could be loads of different things, shocks, top mounts, ARB bushes etc etc..........
  6. Whoooooooooosh wow, what was that?, this post just flew way over my head, Hope the car is running how you want it mate. I need to do some reading up on this single lark.
  7. I need to get my front main crank seal sorted first. If the gets done before the date, I'll be up for it.
  8. the cambelt got done about 10 months ago. I may as well replace it, its only about £30. Thanks for the quick reply, cheers jake
  9. Would anyone with previous experience be able to tell me how much its going to cost me to replace my front crank oil seal? I don't want to have my pants pulled down over the price
  10. I've been outside for most the day giving the car a little TLC. Changed the oil to some Motul chrono stuff, (not cheap) but should be worth it. I also found that of all the cars I've ever serviced, the oil filter on the supra is in a really awkward place. It was so bloody tight to get off. Whilst under the car I noticed oil residue around the front main oil seal area, but there seemed to be no oil at all around the actual seal, just on the sump. Is there another place that can leak around that area, its not the sump gasket as its above the gasket line. Then I noticed coolant all along the bottom of the radiator, I couldn't believe it, just my luck for two expensive repair bills coming up, I checked for the source of the leak but couldn't see anything, I decided to drain the coolant and replace it with Toyota premixed red stuff, but gave it a good flush through first with water in an attempt to find the leak. I ran the engine to check for oil and coolant leaks and found that the top hose was leaking slightly at the top of the rad. WOOOOHOO, just a simple re seat of the hose and its all sweet, no more leaks. So now I just have to keep an eye on the oil leak at the bottom of the engine so see where its come from, I'm thinking it could possibly have been from when the cam cover was leaking when I first got the car. Nice peace of mind now though that shes got some fresh oil and coolant in her. If anyone has any suggestions about the oil leak, let me know. Oh, and to top it off, my membership card and stickers came through today.
  11. It all depends what sort of driving style I'm doing. If I'm cruising through country lanes on a sunny day with the windows down, it could be anything the prodigy do, to bands like Saliva, seether, nirvana, or the new bands I found recently, junkie XL, fall out boy or my current favourite, jimmy eats world. anyone whos played burnout revenge will recognise one of their tracks. If I'm cruising down high streets at pub kick out time, its stuff like Chingy, or the need for speed sountrack, anything that kicks out loads of bass to get the girly's attention, I got a comment the other night as I drove passed a pub, some pissed bird shouted, "oh my god, can I have sex with your car mate"!!! If I'm stuck in traffic, its usually traffic announcments to find my way out of the jam.
  12. Thanks for the replies fellas, I need to go away and have a think.
  13. I was wondering today about the future tuning potential of my TT supra. I would like at some point to grab some more power out of it but I really don't want to be messing around once a year putting cats in to pass the MOT. What I'm asking is, is there ways of tuning the Supra with the cats still in place, or are they just that restrictive that its not worth keeping them in at all? For example, would it ever be worth me converting to a single turbo conversion with the cats still in?
  14. The bodykit was moulded with fibreglass I believe, done by a bodyshop in Orpington. The dash is a bit of a PITA. That black rubber crap that coats the dash has to all come off, A combination of bleach, brillo pads and thinners worked for me, then use Halfords interior car spray paint, they do it in a black spray tin so it sould be all good if you want it in black. Go for it dude. EDIT - do a search on here for info on how to spray dash, you'll find loads of threads and advice on how its done.
  15. Wangan C1, yeah baby, I'd happily pay £13 to blat through that tunnel giving it the beans. One of the many things I must do before I die.
  16. anyone thats ever fitted a set of tyres to a rim will be looking at them and thinking, "my god man, you'll never be able to get them off the rim without damaging it" You can see how stretched they are, so levering the tyre wall over the lip will need a miracle. With regard to the car though, If I was in the market for a family saloon, that would be the car for me, very nice
  17. Hey look, http://atsearch.autotrader.co.uk/www/cars_search.asp?modelexact=1&lid=search_used_cars_full&make=TOYOTA&model=SUPRA&variant=&keywords=&min_pr=10000&max_pr=12000&mileage=&agerange=&postcode=BR5+1QZ&miles=40&max_records=50&source=0&photo=1&sort=4&ukcarsearch_full=SEARCH
  18. well I paid £9000 for mine three months ago, and mines an immaculate import model with 62000 on the clock.
  19. I'd say, off the top of my head, £11000 to £12000 It would have to be mint though.
  20. See, how long did that take?, all of about 15 minutes. Your obliged to get some pictures up here now mate. You wouldn't want to dissapoint this lot.
  21. Spotted you today mate and said hello, nice supra you got there mate. Oh, and your other half is very easy on the eyes as well Just wait till some of the other fellas see this thread, hope you've got some hovis to hand.
  22. Flat battery, it may have enough charge for your windows and lights, but the starter motor is quite heavy duty stuff, so needs a massive charge, also, check the connections on the battery, my positive terimal needed modifying when mine did this once.
