  1. Got to say I prefer the skyline from them pics, early days yet though.
  2. I'm running Denso iridiums IK22's or IK24's in my stock setup, never missed a beat, mind you, running stock, I suppose I'm not putting them under as much stress as you single boys Edit, / I ran denso Iridiums in my FTO without a problem, then Denso Iridiums in my rev 3 mr2 tubby without problems.
  3. If the level is down, check for leaks, I believe the rear prop seal is the one to watch for.
  4. No, its not like that, I noticed it on half throttle that the car picks up a lot faster, seems the turbos are spooling earlier too. I'm certainly not giving it the beans though, I rarely do that even when its dry, even after 9 months of ownership she scares the crap out of me occasionaly
  5. My supe seems to be noticibly quicker now the weather has got a lot colder, is it just down to the denser air, or is it a sign that my intercooler is not as efficient as it should be when the weather is warmer ?

    :(

I've been thinking about this today and I'm thinking the same as fredm. I've heard of plenty of jap ceramic turbos going pop but the engine has always survived without any problems. The blades of the turbo could have ended up in the exhaust obviously because one of the turbines is on the exhaust side. But making it through your intercooler...................I'm not so sure thats right.
  7. Check the level in the auto box. Warm the car up, pull handbrake on, put car into drive, then down to L, then hold for few seconds, then press manual button and move to position 2, hold for a few seconds, then position D, hold again, then up to reverse, then back to neutral. with engine still running, check the fluid level for the autobox on the dipstick. Make sure the car is warmed up though, it makes a difference with autobox oil. Then report back on your findings.

Nic, really sorry to hear of your plight, silver lining though, is that your in a pretty good position compared to most to get the car sorted, what with your access to parts and all. The intercooler I'm sure could be flushed out and re-used. When instances like this happen, I find its best to just think about how the car will be when its eventually repaired, and look forward to driving her once again. Chin up mate, you'll sort it soon enough
  9. Just when you thought it was over............
  10. Nice one, thanks for all your help people. Much appreciated.
  11. I've found a site that does them but don'e know what size to get, can anyone help.?
  12. Right, I've been out there during the day, the residue has a slight pink to it, so I'm sure its coolant, I tightened the jubilee clips and one of them sheared I need to find somewhere that does the thicker ones.
  13. No way mate, thats not right, I've seen the pics showing the side of your car, and judging by the state of the paint, I'd say its done 17k on its sides alone Are you sure its not 170k?
  14. LOL, they're the ones you bought off me I bet
  15. Ok, how much is that bad boy gonna cost me then?
  16. So, the fact that your girlfreind saw this guy winking at her, must have meant she was looking at him anyway. I know your going to say she was looking at the car, but if I'm cruising along minding my own business, and I see an attractive young lady looking at me, I'd probably acknowledge her with a wink as well. That is not to say it was me or anything, I've not been anywhere near slough......ever.
  17. Yup, I'd do time if that happened to me, no question about it. If you find out who it is, retaliate, but remain annonymous. The last thing you want is further reprisals from this.
  18. I suppose your right, I have noticed it more since its been cold, I've also noticed my gear change has been different lately but I put that down to the cold weather as well, being that the gearbox fluid will be thicker when cold, I changed it two days ago anyway just to be on the safe side
  19. Nope, spins freely, what gives you the impression its the coupling? Usually, when the viscous coupling goes, you get a loud whooshing noise where the fan is spinning too fast.
  20. Searched but found nothing, so here goes. I get this annoying residue build up on my radiator pipe every few days, it seems to be coming from the radiator fan so I'm a bit worried that it could be leaking coolant from somewhere and flicking off the fan onto this pipe. Thing is, I've not lost coolant as far as I can see and was wondering if anyone else with a chrome rad pipe gets the same residue. See pics for details
  21. Well, I fell the need to get involved in this thread because my random idle is strating to bug me. Tonight for example, on cold startup it went straight up to 1500rpm, which is fine, 15 mins later its at 1100 rpm, it then stays that way for the next 20 mins, then all of a sudden, you pull up at a set of lights and the revs drop to the 500-600 mark, but by this time, im virtually outside my house and about to park the car in the garage, surely, it shouldn't take that long to warm up, especially as I was giving it large on the deserted motorway on the way home, I thought maybe a good hard run would clean it out a bit.
