  1. motul chrono V300, as recommended by oilman.
  2. If it helps, I'll be filming everything, including the convoy
  3. Ok, me and supra surj will be up for this, If you go the M25 route, we'll meet you at the Lakeside services.
  4. That error window that he got is the generic one you get when the page file capacity is reached. If he had more ram, it would not have happened.
  5. I thought that too, as the puff is always black, if it was oil, surely, it would be blue. I therefore hypothesis, when the turbo is on full boost and the engine is pumping in loads of fuel, some of which is used for cooling the pistons. when the turbo suddenly comes off boost during the gearchange, the fuel from being at full throttle is residual and causes the small puff
  6. Turn it into a small race track, hoooraaahh. We could have regular meets there. :D
  7. I would have thought the same, only I've seen it on new evos as well, and I'd imaging the turbo seals will be pretty tight from new.
  8. I've seen it happen on almost every tuorbcharged car, irrespective of age. When the car is being driven at full throttle, during gearchange, you get a little puff of smoke. I've seen it on, scoobys, evos, supras, including mine. (according to a mate who was playing catch up ) What is the cause of this mysterious puff of smoke.
  9. Recently had mine done although mines a TT, just went to mr T with the chassis number.
  10. Speak to supra_surj, he recently bought a miami GT one, and it looks and sounds virtually identical to my more expensive HKS hipower silent. Very nice exhaust.
  11. I don't really want to aggravate this discussion any more but I'll just say this one thing thats already been mentioned. If you think the police do nothing to help people who are genuine victims of crime, then come spend a 12 hr shift in the back of an area car with me. It'll be a real eye opener, I promise.
  12. It taps in next to the stock boost pressure sensor on the manifold. check it http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/boostguage/bg.htm
  13. I was just on my way home, had been a Blackfriars crown court all day. I missed your KA, how come you weren't out in the supe in this weather ? Did you get your wheels sorted after our mechanic freind kerbed them? I'm up for the convoy thing mate, keep your eyes on the meet section of the site, I'm sure the essex lot will do the same again.
  14. idle is a bit low TBH, bearing in mind you've located an area where there is a noise, id check one more thing. There is a bracket that goes from the first catalyst, to the bell housing of the gearbox. I've read a couple of posts where the bracket has snapped causing the remainder of the bracket to resonate on the exhaust and gearbox. Its in just the place where you say the noise is coming from so check it out. If its not that, I'd go with the engine mount too. Never doubted CW's knowledge
  15. As you saw from today mate, its still going sweet, loving the weather at the moment, the car stays clean for ages. Without sounding like a homo, have you been down the gym recently? , you looked ripped when I drove past today
  16. You can tell by taking off the G/box and looking at it. The whine will have nothing to do with the flywheel anyway so its not that. Generally, lightweight flywheels cause the engine to feel 'lumpy' at idle due to lower rotational mass, heavier flywheels make the engine spin smoothly.
  17. Ipods suck, like andyt's already stated, the zen stuff is much better.
  18. Simple things first to check then. Check the fluid level in the gearbox by doing the following. Start the car up and let it warm up to normal temperature. Then put the car into reverse, then hold for 10 seconds, then put into drive and hold for 10 seconds, then back to reverse, and hold, then back to drive and hold. then put the car into park, and whilst the engine is running check the level on the G/box fluid dipstick.
  19. Use the red button on the selector area to move the lever. It may just me a stuck relay, then give it another go.
  20. It won't go bang if you look after it. Mine is also a daily drive, but you can't be worried about what might happen all the time otherwise you'll never enjoy it
  21. So sorry to hear this mate, I know your pain. My heart goes out to you and your family.
  22. You'll never make money on tarting up cars irrespective of their street value. Its the sentimental value that is holds on you thats important. If you've already spent the money on it that you've stated already, the car obviously holds a special place in your heart, and spending more on bodykits I'd summise is certainly not a waste. It sounds like your turning your car into a particularly nice example, so stick with it, and don't begrudge spending money on it
