Lots of people go straight for the facelift refurb idea or actually buy the facelift lights, bypassing the UK glass units. IMHO on the right colour car, the glass ones are stunning. ( I happen to have just ordered a set of UK glass ones for mine )

Did you not get any indication before hand that it was happening. The wheel wouldn't just jump off. It would have knocked around like a bitch for a few seconds before completely coming off.
